Exactly. Real Catholic men can discuss and disagree unless it becomes sentimental or an actual issue of truth, and then things may change. Funny, I had the EXACT OPPOSITE reaction to Piccaretta. The way she describes Jesus toying with her and being disrespectful of her, turned me off. Because that is not how Jesus talks to me. Anyhoo, all people who claim to be mystics, are certainly warranted to be questioned and criticized. Luissa Piccaretta is not for everyone, especially me. Neither is Kindleman. although Kindleman is more believable in her mission than Piccaretta, in my opinion. It really doesn't matter. You can believe whatever you like, especially in private revelation.

Although raised Protestant, I no longer embrace Protestant theology. The mystical experiences of Luisa are not difficult for me to accept, however. This is due to my having experienced a 56 day visitation of Christ in my home in the Spring of 2010. For a period of 10 years, I had been desperately searching for that one thing, that one idea or unified field theory if you will, that could tie together God, existance, and all the beliefs and Marian devotions of my youth. No matter what the starting point, this UFT would lead to the same destination. I pleaded and prayed with God to show me the answer. I read books for 10 years looking for the answers. The answer came to me firstly through the book, The Splendor of Creation by Fr. Ianuzzi, then second, through O' Conner works. Living in the Divine Will IS that UFT that ties everything together and I thank God for leading my family and I to these truths. ❤
I find your reference to UFT interesting in this context. Yet, there are no repeatable scientific experiments, no mathematics to relate authentic mystical experience to physics. There is no return to the Garden of Eden this side of eternity. The just must live by faith. However I do have an issue with Luisa’s declaration implying her mission is greater than the blessed Virgin Mary and her revelations seem to be a new teaching never before revealed in 2000 years. If her visions are so important, why hasn’t the true church promulgated them since they’re supposed to be so critical.
I did not see anywhere that Luisa’s works( dialogues with Jesus, Mary. Etc) declare she is greater than the Virgin Mary. Jesus NEVER said that and implicitly repeated that to Luisa. If allowing God to center your life in His Divine Will is "man-centered", then, yes, Divine Will is man-centered. Divine Will is God fulfilling the Our Father prayer "Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven." This is the exact opposite of man-centered.

Have a doubts about Luisa Piccarreta just like Sr, Faustina and Medjugorje. The present situation in the Church and in the world is in the core of Fatima message. The only thing that will save mankind from the coming chastisement is to live the Fatima, think the Jesuits priests that survive Hiroshima booming they attributed to their living the Fatima message at the time. The First Saturdays Reparation Communion for the laity and the consecration of Russia by hierarchies which I believe has not been done as requested by the Heavens. Up till now there are no a lot emphasis on the important of the First Saturdays Reparation Communion and don't even get me going on John Paul II or Francis consecration. Four conditions of Fatima message: 1. Daily Rosary at least five decades 2. Offer sacrifice of daily life (married or single) 3. Make Communion of Reparation on the first Saturdays of every month 4. Consecration of oneself/family to the Immaculate Heart of Mary 5. The wearing of the Brown Scapular of Mount Carmel as a symbol of ones consecration. I love this Great Gift ~ It is just what I was looking for ~ I prayed "The Our Father" since I was little; For many years my attention growing up was the sentence; "Forgive me as I forgive others" So, I took that seriously and would forgive others. If I had a problem then I would ask The Father to forgive me and the other and put His forgiveness in my heart for whoever. He did. Then my attention went To His Holy Name. So when I hear His Name blaspheme, I say a pray of reparation for that. The years later; "Thy kingdom come Thy Will be Done on earth as It is in Heaven." I felt inspired to say when I get to, Thy Will be done on earth (i add; in my heart or our hearts). Depends if I'm at Holy Mass or not. ...as it is in heaven. This year our Pope wants us to pray and in particular, The Our Father. My His Will be Done in our Hearts, amen. What a wonderful world this would be! God is so GOOD ~ Praise be His Divine Will ~ This is Food to the soul. Rev 3:20 Jesus says; "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me." John 4:34 "The Disciples Return and Marvel …33 So the disciples asked one another, “Could someone have brought Him food?” 34 Jesus explained, “My Food is to do The Will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work." Luke 12:49 " 49 I have come to ignite a fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!…" Matt 4:4 " 4 But Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every Word that comes from The Mouth of God." This is a Holy Fire to consume all the unnecessary sins in our hearts. What is left out of this Fire, The Divine Will which is His Love. Unity between the human soul and The Divine. The Unity of Heaven is The Divine Will, or one could say, The Sacred Heart of The Holy Trinity. P.S Interesting fact: The Word, "Heart" in Hebrew means: "The Controlling Voice of Authority inside man to push him forward into action." or " It is obedience to The Word of God in you." That seems to be The Divine Will in a nutshell. About "the jew thing", let's remember The Founder of our Church is a jew or a hebrew. Along with Our Lady and the apostles.

I was gutted and shocked when i heard Fr Mawdsley saying that about the divine will. I dont have an opinion on the actual devotion, it was just the fact that two great men/minds/Catholics who respect immensely could be at such opposite ends of the spectrum in their opinions

The difference is that we believe that we're supposed to will what God wills, Luisa says we're supposed to will nothing at all & to let God will for us. I would love to hear more about quietism as you mentioned. I've been reading a lot of David Torkington's works lately and he has mentioned quietism many times as the reason for the loss of mental and mystical forms of prayer in the church. She was a wife and mother and found incorrupt after her death. Jesus gave her access to knowledge of future events among other gifts. Her story is so very remarkable. It is said that no revelation she was ever given failed to transpire. She lived from 1768 to 1837. I was just wondering if you knew of her.

I’m Traditional and I’ve noticed that trads have an irrational terror of any devotion that comes forth after Vatican II. It blinds them. But I think over time this attitude will be unsustainable. And I’m a big fan of both Fr Mawdsley and Daniel O’Connor.

A true father, like Fr. Mawdsley (and yourself) will be instinctively fierce in defending his children, especially from the very subtle and insidious attacks of the evil one, which must be carefully discerned. Through prayer, humility and sacrifice - God will show the way. Let us all pray to have ears to hear each other as we the children may observe that our fathers prudently, privately and discreetly resolve any disagreements regarding the warfare with the enemy that they may only witness their united front. And so be edified and confident in God's Divine Providence.
I like your book “Only man bears his image”but, no thank you. I’ll stick with the traditional devotions. Some of what she writes does not bode well with my own personal sensibilities. Thank God we don’t have follow this “devotion”.
Indeed, it is not "necessary for salvation." But I'd humbly encourage you to reconsider. The Divine Will is very traditional (Luisa, in fact, has a huge traditionalist following --- and let's not forget she's entirely pre-Vatican II). And discerning private revelations based on one's own personal sensibilities is not sound.
John the Baptist is the post Immaculate Conception and I feel the original sin fell from him while in the womb. He was not conceived without sin like Jesus and Mary but when his mother met Mary with Jesus in womb he jumped for joy in her belly and was like a Baptism Hence he ends up becoming John the Baptist! May sound crazy and I may be totally wrong, forgive me if so.
Interesting thought. When I meditate on this mystery, I think of Jesus in Mary's womb coming to baptize and ordain John as a Priest to prepare his way. I see this as a passing from the old Covenant priesthood of his father, Zechariah, to the New & final Covenant & priesthood. In the context of the Domestic Church, a family. The seed of the Church to come. How it started and possibly how it will be in the final days? I know...official Church teaching on the birth of the Church is at Pentecost and early Father's say it was on the Cross, when the Sacred Heart was pierced. I assent to these teachings. This is just my meditation on 2nd joyful/Visitation.
I had heard that she also received a small meal in the morning but always threw it up and could not keep it down. A big stumbling block for me in regard to the DW devotion is how the work of LP can be seemingly regarded as above that of the Apostles and St Joesph .. how can those who brought the faith to the world and whom where martyred for their faith be regarded lower or less than one who spent most of her life in bed ? … or how can she be seen to above st Joesph , who protected and reared our Lord Jesus and protected our Mother Mary throughout his life???? Seriously.. that just does not add up in any level whatsoever… you might try and explain why you would think that she is … Re the intelligence of the writer - the devil knows more scripture than all humans that have lived put together - who is to say he is not the source of her inspiration… considering some of the creepy things she wrote .. the devil can provide a 98% truth he just needs a 2% wrong to trick us … look at the thousands that were fooled to follow to Arian heresy … re telling the future - what about all the mystics that can see future events?? .., Just asking what comes to mind ..
1) Luisa is not greater than St. Joseph. Please see this article: dsdoconnor.com/divine-will-orthodoxy/ 2) Canonized saint spiritual directors don't promote demonic revelations of seers they rigorously discerned, heard confessions of, and worked with for many years. This, and a million other proofs exist that Luisa's writings are certainly not of demonic origin. Some of them are discussed in this very video.

We are taught in the Catholic faith that the full faith was given to the apostles by Jesus … the faith was then handed down from the Apostles “once and for all” (Jude 3). Looking at all private revaluations approved by the church ( ie Lourdes’s & Fatima), it can be seen that they do not add to the faith. Therefore (on keeping within the definition of a valid private revelation ) for Louisa’s Private revelations to be added they cannot add anything further to the deposit of faith. However within her writings Luisa’s claims to complete and surpass the revelation we have received from the Apostles; this is in contradiction to the point made above…. if this new movement was to be approved by the church then it would create a contradiction between the KDW and the traditional doctrine handed down through the ages of the church …. I believe this could cause great confusion…
If you are confused about anything, fast on bread and water, pray humbly and do many works of charity, make some sacrifices, then you will get your answers.

Funny, I had the EXACT OPPOSITE reaction to Piccaretta. The way she describes Jesus toying with her and being disrespectful of her, turned me off. Because that is not how Jesus talks to me. Anyhoo, all people who claim to be mystics, are certainly warranted to be questioned and criticized. Luissa Piccaretta is not for everyone, especially me. Neither is Kindleman. although Kindleman is more believable in her mission than Piccaretta, in my opinion. It really doesn't matter. You can believe whatever you like, especially in private revelation.

Living in the Divine Will IS that UFT that ties everything together and I thank God for leading my family and I to these truths. ❤
I find your reference to UFT interesting in this context. Yet, there are no repeatable scientific experiments, no mathematics to relate authentic mystical experience to physics. There is no return to the Garden of Eden this side of eternity. The just must live by faith. The present situation in the Church and in the world is in the core of Fatima message.

The First Saturdays Reparation Communion for the laity and the consecration of Russia by hierarchies which I believe has not been done as requested by the Heavens.

1. Daily Rosary at least five decades
2. Offer sacrifice of daily life (married or single)
3. Make Communion of Reparation on the first Saturdays of every month

I prayed "The Our Father" since I was little;
For many years my attention growing up was the sentence; "Forgive me as I forgive others" So, I took that seriously and would forgive others. If I had a problem then I would ask The Father to forgive me and the other and put His forgiveness in my heart for whoever. He did.
Then my attention went To His Holy Name. So when I hear His Name blaspheme, I say a pray of reparation for that.
The years later; "Thy kingdom come Thy Will be Done on earth as It is in Heaven."
I felt inspired to say when I get to, Thy Will be done on earth (i add; in my heart or our hearts). Depends if I'm at Holy Mass or not. ...as it is in heaven.
This year our Pope wants us to pray and in particular, The Our Father.
My His Will be Done in our Hearts, amen. What a wonderful world this would be! God is so GOOD ~ Praise be His Divine Will ~ This is Food to the soul.

This is a Holy Fire to consume all the unnecessary sins in our hearts. What is left out of this Fire, The Divine Will which is His Love. Unity between the human soul and The Divine. The Unity of Heaven is The Divine Will, or one could say, The Sacred Heart of The Holy Trinity.
P.S Interesting fact:
The Word, "Heart" in Hebrew means:
"The Controlling Voice of Authority inside man to push him forward into action." or " It is obedience to The Word of God in you."
That seems to be The Divine Will in a nutshell.

I would love to hear more about quietism as you mentioned. I've been reading a lot of David Torkington's works lately and he has mentioned quietism many times as the reason for the loss of mental and mystical forms of prayer in the church. I'd love to understand quitism and how the actions to fight it have affected the prayer life of the church.

Mawdsley’s post and needed to defend Luisa Piccarreta, you would not have given those, like me, who are newer to Luisa, a better background in her history and the message of the Divine Will; so praised be God for that! I am also a follower of Fr. James Mawdsley and have learned so very much from him. I own books from both of you. With your explanation here in this post, I must side with you on this one, and your talk urges me to go deeper into the Divine Will revelations. So thank you for taking the time to do it and the respect with which you have done so. I’ve been wanting to ask you if you’ve ever heard of the mystic, Bl. Anna Maria Taigi. She was a wife and mother and found incorrupt after her death. Jesus gave her access to knowledge of future events among other gifts. Her story is so very remarkable. It is said that no revelation she was ever given failed to transpire. She lived from 1768 to 1837. I was just wondering if you knew of her.

I don’t think the mere fact that there are imprimatur are theological proof. It would be good to have a side by side discussion on the reasons why Father Maudsley said it was from Lucifer. I’m Traditional and I’ve noticed that trads have an irrational terror of any devotion that comes forth after Vatican II. It blinds them. But I think over time this attitude will be unsustainable. And I’m a big fan of both Fr Mawdsley and Daniel O’Connor.
You really shouldn't label & lump all traditional Catholics into one checkbox. We're not all alike.

A true father, like Fr. Mawdsley (and yourself) will be instinctively fierce in defending his children, especially from the very subtle and insidious attacks of the evil one, which must be carefully discerned. Through prayer, humility and sacrifice - God will show the way. Let us all pray to have ears to hear each other as we the children may observe that our fathers prudently, privately and discreetly resolve any disagreements regarding the warfare with the enemy that they may only witness their united front. And so be edified and confident in God's Divine Providence.
I like your book “Only man bears his image”but, no thank you. I’ll stick with the traditional devotions. Some of what she writes does not bode well with my own personal sensibilities. Thank God we don’t have follow this “devotion”.
Indeed, it is not "necessary for salvation." But I'd humbly encourage you to reconsider. The Divine Will is very traditional (Luisa, in fact, has a huge traditionalist following --- and let's not forget she's entirely pre-Vatican II). And discerning private revelations based on one's own personal sensibilities is not sound.

John the Baptist is the post Immaculate Conception and I feel the original sin fell from him while in the womb. He was not conceived without sin like Jesus and Mary but when his mother met Mary with Jesus in womb he jumped for joy in her belly and was like a Baptism
Hence he ends up becoming John the Baptist! May sound crazy and I may be totally wrong, forgive me if so.
Interesting thought. When I meditate on this mystery, I think of Jesus in Mary's womb coming to baptize and ordain John as a Priest to prepare his way.
I see this as a passing from the old Covenant priesthood of his father, Zechariah, to the New & final Covenant & priesthood. In the context of the Domestic Church, a family. The seed of the Church to come. How it started and possibly how it will be in the final days?
I know...official Church teaching on the birth of the Church is at Pentecost and early Father's say it was on the Cross, when the Sacred Heart was pierced. I assent to these teachings.

I had heard that she also received a small meal in the morning but always threw it up and could not keep it down. This has more of the ring of truth to me I can’t see anyone surrounding her not providing any sustenance to her at all. A big stumbling block for me in regard to the DW devotion is how the work of LP can be seemingly regarded as above that of the Apostles and St Joesph .. how can those who brought the faith to the world and whom where martyred for their faith be regarded lower or less than one who spent most of her life in bed ? … or how can she be seen to above st Joesph , who protected and reared our Lord Jesus and protected our Mother Mary throughout his life????

2) Canonized saint spiritual directors don't promote demonic revelations of seers they rigorously discerned, heard confessions of, and worked with for many years. This, and a million other proofs exist that Luisa's writings are certainly not of demonic origin. Some of them are discussed in this very video.

Thank you for that clarification. However what about Louisa in regard to the Apostles ?
We are taught in the Catholic faith that the full faith was given to the apostles by Jesus … the faith was then handed down from the Apostles “once and for all” (Jude 3).
Looking at all private revaluations approved by the church ( ie Lourdes’s & Fatima), it can be seen that they do not add to the faith.
Therefore (on keeping within the definition of a valid private revelation ) for Louisa’s Private revelations to be added they cannot add anything further to the deposit of faith. However within her writings Luisa’s claims to complete and surpass the revelation we have received from the Apostles; this is in contradiction to the point made above…. if this new movement was to be approved by the church then it would create a contradiction between the KDW and the traditional doctrine handed down through the ages of the church …. I believe this could cause great confusion…

Daniel is such an expert on this subject that he would be my go to on The Divine Will. God bless your great work. In defence of Fr. Mawdsley, he is interesting on many subjects but I agree that he is off the mark on this particular subject. Hopefully he will look at this presentation of Daniel’s.
