Dude, this guy really knows his stuff with styling hair. Like, the way he used the cool shot after blowdrying it with heat to keep volume. I've learned from my hairstylist that when your hair is still hot, it's still "moldable," meaning you can still affect its shape. Since he knew his hair could lose the volume due to its weight while it was still hot, he used the cool shot to cool it down.
