The Jamaicans who were taken from Ghana were mostly Fantes, yet they’ve made people believe they were all Ashantis, which is not true. Jamaicans look more Fantes than Ashantis.
Did you see their DNA? Do you know their history? Who were the maroons? I am sure there were probably people from the Fante tribe. I have never been to Africa, but I do know from history there were slaves from the Ashanti tribe and igbo tribe and more. I will do a research on the Fante people. Thanks for sharing.
The tribal situation in Africa seems very complex. Without doing much research, the Fante peoples were a part of the Akan tribe. So yes, maybe some of us Jamaicans are from the Fante people. Unfortunately our identity was taken from us so we really don’t know exactly which tribe we are from, but Yahuah knows and that too He will fix. Our ancestors who were a part of the transatlantic slave trade were a brave set of freedom fighters, I am proud of them. May their souls rest in peace. Please know they resented being slaves. Look up who Nanny of the Maroons is.
@@stephfrancis7109Yes the Fantes and Ashantis are all Akans, they are almost the same people. They speak the same language with different dialects. Most of the slave castles are in the Fante land where the white people settled. Most Fantes were also taken.
@@stephfrancis7109Yes I have read about the maroons, Queen Nanny also known as Nana Obiyaa and Achampong. The Coromanti people who were taken to the Caribbean and Jamaica were Fantes, Ashantis, Akims, Ga tribes mainly not just Ashantis. Our ancestors were truly brave and physically strong people. It’s truly sad what went on. May their souls rest in peace.
I fuljoy your this very much. Raspec straight from Barbados were dem drag us from our Homeland over 400 years ago. I can't wait to return home some day. Rastafari Lives ❤️💛💚🖤 💪🏿
