I think you would have a lot more success with securing loot if you wired a simple button to a door controller to close it. You don't need to have any power, just button -> door controller and pressing the button will send a pulse to open and then close the door (or close it since it's already open). Put the button with TC and you don't have to worry about people coming in and looting or killing you after the trap goes off.
people would see the wire and notice it's a trap base, the whole point of this trap is it not being visible (AKA unnoticeable trab base)
He could have built it so that he could close the double door from the inside by making the part that phases through the wall accessible
You could just stand on the pressure pad keeping the door open

or simply just build the base so he can close the double door from a room close to the exit.
It'd be freaking perfect if you combined this trap with a self-closing door once they're in or the mines explode. That'd be utter perfection.

The double door could open inwards and maybe go through the wall, so when you hear the boom you can shut it from safety inside, then loot.

Not only do I absolutely love that you're doing trap base vids these days, but you do them on vanilla servers, where the loot is even more satisfying. I cant stand trap base videos other creators do on 5x and 10x servers. Its boring. You're nothing short of the best, Memeio! You're awesome
You've really gotta start adding door controllers into your trap bases so you dont have to sacrifice yourself to go close that front door behind them.
There's only one flaw maybe you should've made a double door phase through the tc wall room so you could close it from inside

Hey Memeio, I have a trap where you place a boat base on the shore of oil, make the foundation as low in the water as possible and have boxes directly one square above. Whenever you get out of a boat right there you insta die, leave double door open facing out with a boat in place :)

Another idea, to compound on this one: put spikes or bear traps at the bottom, and especially spikes at the sides, to prevent them from jumping out if things go wrong or get someone else if they fall in before you re-build.

If you put shot gun traps under the floor it will make it more successful to kill everyone that walks in. So when one person steps on the mine the floor opens and kills the rest and you should also have a door controller to help trap people inside.

I think that a trip wire config would work perfectly with this so that once they enter you dont have to attempt to shut the door but focus on looting

Make a switch near the TC that closes the door. So you don't risk dying running up to the door and closing it manually. Then this trap base would be so good.
Could also add a splitter that leads to a door controller, when the land mines explode make the controller also break and automatically close the door, costs a bit more fraggies but you get the look secured
The fact that you can smack a guy with a big-ass sign cleaver and huck it straight into his back and it doesn't register is why rust isnt played as much as it used to be.

princevidz did this a little while ago, love this trap
LOL Been putting them in the floors for a couple years now :) They fixed it a little bit so you have to move the mines around a bit to place em now. My favorite way of using them was destroying the floor over river with spikes on the bottom. Called it my Pirahna Pit. LOL Also works GREAT as roof defense when built into roof honeycomb.
you should put a door controller with a simple button to it to close the front door safely from core. it dosnt require any external power just the button and controller connected. its also like 200 metal frags.

so many have been attempting this shit on the server i play on this past wipe, and all i gotta say is that 1/10 times it kills someone, 1/10 times its just ignored and never goes off, and 8/10 times the 16 year old child attempting it kills himself. we have such an intelligent community of people.
