- “Strongest and best! Strongest and best! Cleanest and fastest and pull the express!”
- Gordon The Big Engine (2004)
LYRICS:
Diesel sat on the switch and he stood in Gordon’s path
He said “You’re all clapped-out, and you’re only good for scrap!
Make the most of the trip, ‘cause it might just be your last!
You’re gonna’ squeak, rattle and roll! (X2)
Squeak, rattle and roll!
You’re gonna’ squeak, rattle and roll!
He said, “You can’t do nothin’! To the scrapyard you’ll go!”
Gordon pulled The Express, but he wasn’t keeping time
The Click-Clunk Express was the slowest on the line
He went so slow, but the noise he couldn’t hide
He went squeak, rattle and roll! (X2)
Squeak, rattle and roll!
He went squeak, rattle and roll!
Well you can’t do nothin’, when you take life so slow!
They said “GO!” Go Gordon Go! GO!
(X6)
Thinkin’ he’d be scrapped, Gordon gave them one last show
And he went so fast, all the children caught their boat
Sir Topham said, “It’s the Works where you will go!”
We believed Diesel was wrong, and now we know
We believed Diesel was wrong, and Gordon showed
He’s a really useful engine, don’t you know?
So now squeak, rattle and roll!
You can squeak, rattle and roll!
Squeak, rattle and roll!
I said squeak, rattle and roll!
‘Cause you can’t do nothin’, but watch our Gordon go!
Squeak, Rattle and Roll!

Hello again folks!
Hope you’re ready for another parody - this is “Squeak, Rattle and Roll,” based on the Season 8 episode of the same name.
Much like “Diesel in Disguise,” at first I wasn’t sure if it was good enough to get its own song. But after I started thinking about one verse, I started imagining the others, and eventually I decided to go ahead and see if I could pull it off. I really enjoy making music videos that recap stories, like my “Holding Out For a Hero” music video with Balto last year. I have nice memories of watching it on the “Steamies VS Diesels” DVD, so I figured, why not give it a song? I always liked when Mike and Junior did songs based on random episodes, like “Once Was an Engine Who Ran Away." It was a bit of a challenge to summarize the episode in 2-3 minutes with only a couple of verses, but lots of fun to figure out. I really like how it came together!
I want to give a HUGE thank you to Jack, AKA @LittleOwl2003 for recording the vocals for this song! When I recorded the temp vocals myself, I found this one very difficult to sing, but Jack handled it no problem and improved many verses that I struggled to write. I cannot begin to express (heh, pun) how refreshing it was to hear his vocals after hearing my temp version.
@LittleOwl2003 has made tons of reaction videos, music videos, voice impressions, and his own parody songs on lots of franchises! I highly recommend giving them a watch and consider hiring him for more projects! Check out the rest of his socials and channels in the links below! Thanks again so much Jack!

Finally, come back next Saturday for ANOTHER parody song! See you again very soon!
-Sooty Will (and Gordon)
I love the usage of the sound effects here! The first chorus is comprised of only squeaks, the second contains the rattling noise, and the final verse consists of grand, faultless puffing showing that Gordon is back on his own non-existent feet. Really goes to show how sound effects can tell a story in of itself. Great work as always, Sooty!
Thanks so much for noticing! I threw in those sound effects last minute, so I'm glad they turned out well haha.
So glad you liked it! LittleOwl did a great job and I had a lot of fun putting it together. :)
Yet another banger of a parody my friend. Huge congratulations to both you and Little Owl VA for another excellent collaboration. You just do great stuff, very proud of you ☺️🚂🚃
Aw thanks so much Andrew! So glad you liked it. I had a lot of fun figuring out the lyrics and editing the video, and LittleOwl totally sold it with his great performance. :)
@@SootyWill can to do peace and quiet music video
oh yeah, rocking out to the jazzy music ''Squeak, rattle and roll i loved it Jack you did great''.
So glad you like it! Couldn’t have done it without Jack! He did an amazing job :)
"I Say Squeak, Rattle and Roll!"
Jokes aside, this is a BANGER song! LittleOwl did a great job on this! Knowing that this is my favorite HiT episode, i knew i would really much love it. Cheers! And keep up the marvelous work.
Aw thanks so much! Means a lot knowing it's one of your favorite episodes. And yes! LittleOwl totally delivered with the vocals! :)
That was a wicked song. It really was catchy and it works brilliantly. Well done to #LittleOwl2003 for his superb performance 👏😀.
Aw thanks! It was a challenge to fit the story into the lyrics, so I'm glad you liked it. And yes! LittleOwl totally brought it all together with his great performance. :)
Well, all I can say is thanks for paying for my dinner XD
But in all seriousness, thank you so so much for approaching me! This was so so much fun to do and it sounds genuinely amazing! The sound effects were also mixed in masterfully, your production quality is something that the entire fandom can take notes from!
Keep on doing what you’re doing man, and rest assured I would love to do one of these again!
Aw thank you so much man! So glad you liked it! Couldn't have done it without you :)
I came up with the sound effects and storybook opening just this past Wednesday, so I'm just glad I was able to add them in time haha - thanks for noticing!
And I'd definitely love to have you again for another one of these! Thanks again!
Wow! This is like a real Thomas song! Well done! 😃
Thanks! I spent a lot of time on the lyrics and steamcloud, so thanks for noticing :)
I finally had the time to watch this and I gotta say, this is another grand parody of one song who's title was used as inspiration in a certain fan-favorite S8 episode! Little Owl did a brilliant job with the vocals!
I also love the edit of the Express coaches.
Thank you so much! It was a challenge to fit the plot into so few verses, but a lot of fun! LittleOwl totally brought the whole song together - couldn't have done it without him!
And thanks for noticing the coach edits! I appreciate that you mentioned them! :)
Amazing! This really looks like a music video from the HiT-Era!😄
Kudos to Little Owl for his amazing singing!👍
Thanks so much! The lyrics and steamcloud took a long time, so thanks for noticing. And yes! Couldn’t have done it without LittleOwl!
Anybody else notice how Gordon's squeaking rattling and rolling got progressively louder and then after he went to the works he was just puffing soundly
Thanks for noticing! Added those SFX last minute ;)
@@SootyWill it's a nice little detail
Ayo, this episode AND the song is a true masterpiece. I gotta say Sooty, you did good track to this Banger, even LittleOwl for his good performance at singing as well.
👍
Thanks so much! That really means a lot to hear. Couldn't have done it without LittleOwl.
Glad you liked it! :)
You can't imagine how long I've been waiting for something like this. And I must say, it was worth the wait! Plus, Squeak, Rattle, and Roll is one of my guilty pleasure episodes.
Thank so much! So glad you liked it. Couldn't have done it without LittleOwl.
And I have to admit, this episode's grown on me moreso having made this video haha
A banger of a jazz song! I always enjoyed this episode despite it being from the Hit era - Gordon always seemed to get the better episodes during those seasons.
Thanks so much! LittleOwl and I had a lot of fun :)
Absolute bop
Bro turned a hit episode into a banging song great wort😊
Thank you so much! That means a lot. Couldn't have done it without LittleOwl!
Gordon sure showed them! Just like you showed us another good song. You guys never fails to disappoint when it comes to these songs!
Aw thank you so much! We had a lot of fun putting this one together - LittleOwl gave me a great performance!
It hasn’t even been a day and I’m already addicted to this song and it’s always stuck in my head
Haha thank you so much! Love to hear it!
As a TTTE fan i loved this and judging by your other socials we have more than that in common a fellow zootopian too! you have definitely earned a subscribe from me! as always TRY EVERYTHING my friend!! (and keep up the good work too!!)
Aw thank you so much for the subscription! Always glad to meet another Thomas and Zootopia fan 😎
I literally just rewatched Zootopia+ last night, and I realized I definitely need to make more videos with them again sometime.
And thanks! Same to you! :)
@@SootyWill love to help out any way i can if you need it!
This song brings back memories, particularly to another song about a certain little traction engine that ran away.
But geez what a nostalgia trip that was. 👌
Thanks so much! I was definitely inspired by Little Engine Who Ran Away and Don't Judge a Book, so I'm glad that came across. :)
@@SootyWill then this makes me ask, was your one song you did a year ago called “pumping iron” related or taken any inspiration from “Rolling Stock” part of the starlight express album preformed by Andrew Lloyd Webber?
@@Walker443 Oh! “Pumping Iron” was just taken straight from the Starlight Express show. I didn’t rewrite anything - it’s just an ordinary music video
@@SootyWill knew it sounded so familiar!
What a banger I remember when I was little I would sing a tune like this in my head not as good as this but it was focused around the words speak rattle and roll lol I believe i had just watched the episode and kept playing the words in my little head idk just somthing I thought I would share
Thanks! And that’s so cool that you remember that! Love hearing those kinds of things.
Thanks for watching :)
This is the best cover ever!!
LittleOwl did an amazing job! He totally sold the lyrics I rewrote. So glad you liked it! :)
Even if the episode has a few flaws. For example, why Gordon believes in Diesl's words even though Sir Topham Hatt said in "Tender Engines" that he doesn't want to scrap any of his locomotives. It was nice to see Gordon's determination as he got the children to the finish line. And the close-ups of Gordon's wheels are great.
Outstanding Performance 😃👍
I agree! Jack did a great job :)
Another great music video. Well done to Jack for his great singing.
Thanks James! And yes, Jack did a fantastic job!
@@SootyWill You're welcome.
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you! LittleOwl totally brought it together and I had a lot of fun editing it :)
@@SootyWill WELL, PLEASE LET LITTLEOWL KNOW THAT IT'S SPECTACULAR!!
ALSO, GREAT WORK WITH USIN' FOOTAGE FROM THE OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL WELL-KNOWN EPISODE THAT OFFICIALLY USES THE SAME EXACT TITLE!!!
This is absolutely stellar as always
Thank you so much! So glad this one turned out - the lyrics were a bit tricky! Couldn't have done it without LittleOwl though :)
I know I said this with your last video, but this does feel like something ripped straight out of Thomas. It has that classic charm which i cant really put into words. The singing is fantastic, and I love that transition between the normal singing voice and Topham's voice. So much care and effort was put into this. 10/10
Aw thank you so much! I spent a lot of time on the on-screen lyrics and music video, so I’m glad they turned out! LittleOwl totally blew me away too - that bit with Sir Topham Hatt was his idea
So glad you liked it!
Awesome job on the song!
Thanks so much! So glad you liked it. LittleOwl totally delivered with the vocals and I loved seeing it come together
very nice I really love how it sounds catchy
Thanks so much! I really liked the original tune as well
2 music videos in 2 Saturdays!
This feels like Johnny B Goode.
"Squeak, rattle and roll" makes me feel like that Diesel is predicing Gordon's future considering in "Tenders for Henry" Gordon found out that his family except for Flying Scotsman are all dead.
Thanks so much! And make that 4 music videos! I made a Back To The Future MV two weeks ago, and another Thomas one is coming out next Saturday!
Johnny B Goode was also first written in the 50s, so that would make sense.
Awesome job! 👍
Really nice song showing Gordon’s trial! Really well written lyrics! Keep up the good work!
(Also, if I may ask, could you perhaps make a tutorial about how you made the on-screen lyrics?)
Thank you so much! It was a challenge to fit the story in only a few verses, so thanks for noticing! LittleOwl did a great job selling the lyrics.
And that's not a bad idea! Maybe I'll post a tweet that goes more in-depth, but basically I cut up each line of text to recolor each word yellow, one by one. Then I keyframed the steamcloud onto every single syllable in time with LittleOwl's vocals.
A song based on a banger episode from the HiT Era? Yes please :)
Haha thanks so much! LittleOwl and I had a lot of fun putting this together. We need more HIT series appreciation!
@@SootyWill Indeed!
Absolutely amazing!
Thanks so much! Couldn't have done it without LittleOwl!
Anytime! And LittleOwl also did a good job too!
Another amazing video buddy, hoenstly your videos, you managed to bring the best talents out of my two friends and they did amazingly 🤩
Thanks so much! Jack did a great job for sure, and I had a lot of fun writing and editing it too :)
@@SootyWill I have the pleasure with working with this legend a lot as well Andrew (The Ginger Engine) on my own series so honestly buddy you are in safe hands with these vocalists I do sing myself too, so if you do ever want another voice I have some footage on my own channel 😊😉
oh damn this actually pretty good!
Thanks! It was a challenge but fun to rewrite. LittleOwl blew me away with the vocals too. :)
this a banger
Thanks so much! :)
@@SootyWill no problem!
I really like this music video about Gordon, I wish that I can sing in one of your videos.
Thank so much! Glad you liked it.
This was genuinely amazing!!!
Aw thank you so much! I had a lot of fun writing and editing, and LittleOwl sold the whole thing with his great performance :)
@LittleOwl2003 you are amazing
I agree! :)
@@SootyWill id like to collaborated sometime too.
The lyrics must’ve been challenging to edit
A little bit haha! There are only a handful of lines in the original song, and most of them repeat, so I really had to narrow down the main beats the story. It was a fun challenge though, and I'm quite happy with the rhymes that match the original. :)
Awesome
This is bangers
Thanks so much! LittleOwl and I had a lot of fun making it
How did you do the squeak, rattle, and knocking sfx
I just found moments in the episode where there no narration or music over the sound effects, then I sped them up to the beat of the song and had them repeat over and over. I also used some "biff" sfx from GW Shunter's archive. :)
@@SootyWill what moments in the episodes are those
If only HIT era songs were this awesome! Don’t get me wrong, most hit era songs are great but not to this level (Except Thomas, you’re the leader) and The style reminds me of Don’t judge a book by it’s cover
Aw thanks so much! It was based on a classic rock song so that probably helps haha.
And that's exactly what I was going for - thanks for noticing :)
@@SootyWill Anytime. Great song.
Jack did a great job.
Can you do a Disney parody
Do you mean a parody with Disney characters, or a Thomas parody of a Disney song? Because either way I'll think about it!
I've got another parody coming out later this year that isn't a Disney song per say, but it's most famous for being in a popular Pixar movie. ;)
@@SootyWill a Thomas parody of a Disney song I meant
for your next song do shaceled and drawn but with toby and get badmanorprodoctons as the singer
This was a great song!
IMO, Squeak, Rattle and Roll is better than Tenders For Henry.
My opinion, Squeak Rattle And Roll is WAY MUCH better then Respect for Gordon.
@@edwardsimp0524 I agree, but only just.
Thanks so much! So glad you liked it. Couldn’t have done it without LittleOwl :)
