      Mike, TheAnimated he mean by "dry" is using minimum effects.. kinda stripped down to the basic guitar tone. Usually just clean or gain only. No reverb or compression whatsoever.

    Hello great review! I'm thinking in putting some symour duncan pickups on this guitar. I was thinking in some perpetual burn plus something else which I still don't know. Any thoughts or some comments?

    • @NolalanD
      @NolalanD 5 років тому

      I just bought one used. I was thinking the same, but I just realized that someone replaced my bridge pickup with a dimarzio super distortion, which I am actually starting to like. However, what they did that was dumb was replace the middle with a stacked humbucker; it's like a dimarzio version of a hot rail. It totally takes all the versatility out of the guitar and makes the 2 and 4 positions muddy, so I'm looking to find a single coil to put back in it. Any ideas?
      Before I came around to the Dimarzio Super D I was thinking about how a seymour duncan alnico 2 would sound in the bridge?

      Bro bro I bought this guitar brand spanking new from Japan... it took a few months to get here in Ohio because of stupid covid.. anyways I think I paid like $1700-$1800 for it... the guy had listed as used...lol when it got here we assessed it through and through and we couldn't even find a single pick scape or any such signs of anyone ever playing it. So we thought he bought it and literally opened it and looked at it and literally put safely away until I purchased it. The strings were factory set and more signs of no one ever even playing it... I love it
      This axe is 100 percent made/built to shred. It sounds amazing when using it to record with. It you like shred on the guitar, promise you... you will be more than satisfied and some. I've been playing for 25 yrs I'vealways owned and played on Ibanez and Jackson... literally the top two guitar companies in music/ definitely metal... I also use a Jackson soloist string through body 6 string neck-thru ebony fretboard emgs 24 fretboard with the expensive finish of erie-dessi which looks all purple at time and black and greenish blue and black idfk lol can't go wrong with any high end guitars from Jackson and certainly Ibanez... a metal heads go to guitars

    • @IrfanIbnuAziz
      @IrfanIbnuAziz 8 років тому

      +And1slash i think this is the new model for 2015. As you can see, there is no neck binding for the guitar in this video. However, I believe your guitar has neck binding.

    • @And1slash
      @And1slash 8 років тому

      that explains it
      although the tone in mine at stock sounded better than the new version plus mine has the original edge floyd which is the best ibanez made

    • @arktinen
      @arktinen 8 років тому

      +And1slash it actually got different puckups. I've been trying to buy this guitar since 2011 and it used to have DiMarzio iBZ back then. Now, it got the ones that the guy described in the video. Anyway, it sounds amazing!

    • @And1slash
      @And1slash 8 років тому

      Axl Svensson it's no biggie for me

      I bought to up the shredding but I am still mastering the shred. I use it the same as my other guitars for good gain and tone and its a great all rounder.Nice to play

      @Iron883Man 8 років тому +1

      +JELIFISH19 I have a 2010 in metallic Black finish. My favorite guitar and it seems to me the Ibanez DMZ pickups actually sound better then this Air Norton/Tone zone combo. The older Ibanez DMZ's sound more like Di Marzio Evolutions you find in JEM's these days imo. When I bought it I planned on changing them out for a pair of Bare Knuckles, but they sounded so good I never did that.

      I can see why you'd think that, as it's awfully similar to the old 2550z. But this new series is a different white, and a blue rather than black. More importantly, Tone Zone/True Velvet/Air Norton instead of a DiMarzio IBZ set.
