Good memories made with your boy that obviously wants to be just like his Dad. Great role model mate. All the best from the land down under. Australia. Cheers, Col.
Wow very cool I'm sure your son will remember that for the rest of his life. I love how your teaching your son, a great Dad for sure takes me back to my Dad teaching and sharing great times
Kyle love the video, cool seeing your son with you. It’s always good to see a farther and son in joying time together. Nice to see the hammer 🔨 man . Good job 👏.
Your son has a good father teaching him the trade and taking him on good trips that’s one trip he will never forget than you for all the videos love watching them
Mike Neuhaus thanks. Both of those statements are true. Mark is awesome and my son will be great no doubt. He’s got a lot of his mother in him and enough of me.....
Hey my brother I love them hammers there all awesome,Very nice trip to guy's DAD AND SON TIME and with a great maker like Mark Martinez cool and good memories later :)
Wow what a privilege! I have so much respect for this man, such an innovator. The only person other I couldn’t imagine getting such a chance to meet would be Larry haun
Larry moved out of SoCal into my backyard, built and mentored tons of people in his "retirement" for Habitat for Humanity. Very humble man a true master in every sense.
I just got my M1 the other day. And going to order me a speed square as well. I’m upgrading all my tools, as my set is almost 20yrs old. Just got my Diamond Back tool belt today and Tajima chalk box. I love quality tools.
That was some great info on hammers and Mark and the Stiletto tools. SO much better than those off the shelf nail driver clubs. I bought some old tools years ago from some guy that just needed some quick cash. I thought I paid way too much but when I found out the history of the Stiletto and "The Framer" hammer's I couldn't believe what a deal it was. That was a long time ago and I'm still swinging both of them. PLUS, it's so cool you took your son along on the trip. There's just nothing better than having family along for a trip like this!
This is one of the coolest videos that i have ever seen. I want to see more behind the scenes stuff of that guys shop. I just learned about the martinez hammers from you today. I think im going to have to retire the old 14oz and get one of the m1's. By the way you are one of the very few guys i can watch build something and not yell at the screen because they are doing something wrong or stupid. you build a good building.
Truly inspirational on so many levels. Marks story is still one that blows my mind. Not to mention you bringing the community so much value. But man most of all, you as a parent is something to strive for. Thanks for sharing my friend.
Great video Kyle. My titanium stiletto has never let me down. I’ve had it for 15 years and the only thing that’s ever happened to it is the wooden handle gets lose sometimes but I just soak it over night in some BLO and it’s ready to go.
Great video, Kyle. I followed along on IG when you were in Cali, was cool to see this all put together. Your son is very fortunate to have a father like you, keep up the good work man! Love my M4 by the way! Mark makes the best hammer, no doubt in my mind about that!
Smart young boy you got there! Was cool hearing Mark tell his story to your son. If you ever need a place to stay in Northern Cali.....got plenty of room.
That must have been such a cool trip to hang out with the martinez man himself and your son. Ive been swinging my stiletto for 10+ years and absolutely love it. Ive been eyeballing an m4 though, would love a black edition one.
I don't know how I missed this video but that was pretty awesome to hear from the man himself. I figured there was some kind of correlation between stiletto and Martinez tools and I'm glad to actually know now. I love my stiletto and will be adding a few of those Martinez hammers to my collection.
I just bought a Stiletto after watching your videos and a bunch of others. Loved the Martinez; there were two big factore for me. 1. Price. I got a TiBone for $167. 2. I like the Titanium head of the Stiletto. I like a light swinging hammer. So far, very pleased. Great video! I'm sure I would have liked the Martinez also.
Hello Mr Martinez, I am Raymond Yeep from Singapore. I admire your devotion to the perfecting hammer. I am not a carpenter. I was a poor man blacksmith. So i used 4 to 5 lb both flat forging hammers made in England I think. It follows me for more than 30 years and I still used it once in while. I have your one of your Stiletto 15 inch All Titanium Multifunctional Flat Bar for my collection. In fact I releaze the the value had appreciated. I bought them 4 years ago. Now I 60 and stop blacksmithing. I had lower back pains all the times and is on medications. Now I run a family business making cement plastering trowels. Life is a struggle just have to accept it and move on. For more than 40 years I had devoted myself to improve our plastering trowels constantly once we had the budget. Till now plastering trowels from China and Taiwan which copy our design failed to unseat our brand for 60 years. My old man started the blacksmith shop making plastering trowels and other construction tool like chisels and crowbars which export to West and East Malaysia and Brunei through export agents in Singapore. But now they were already obsolete. So we concentrate plastering trowels. I started to work when I was 8. Yes it was a tough life for me but I walk the line as American quote. Now I am semi-retired. Mr Martinez I have something in mind to contribute to perfecting the hammer further. Email me at rymkt@yahoo.com.sg becasue I want you to have the advantage from your competitors. Thanks.
Kyle, it was great to get a chance to meet you at the NFBA! Thanks for taking the time to chat with me. Sweet video btw my brother bought me one of those hammers a few years ago for Christmas. Love the quality.
Just when you think that a simple framing hammer can't be further improved upon because well, if it ain't broke...then he has an idea that turns into a concept that gets further developed, refined, experimented, tried over and over until, as Kyle says, "you strike oil". The guy could've designed, engineered those hammers in Cali then just call some overseas manufacturer to get them made for cheap and reap an even sweeter profit, but he's getting the whole process done right here in the US, 100% American made. I tip my hat off to Mr Martinez and look forward to owning an M1 and a titanium speed square. Thanks for the cool vid!.
I have the new M4 which I love. I have both the wide claw and standard framing head for the m4 and have registered on Martinez's website for the Sledge Hammer that's coming out! I also have in my collection the original Stiletto titanium with the hollow aluminum axe handle in near mint condition, a ti-bone framer with the yellow axe handle and skeletonized head like they used to do them, a 14 oz. Stiletto with hybrid fiberglass handle, a 10 oz. straight claw with the fiberglass hybrid handle, and 3 Stilletto curved claw 10-ounce trim hammers. He has forever changed how we view hammers for sure!
Awesome road trip dude....to bad I didn't know you were in the area, I would have swung by, high fived you and thanked you for the cool videos you post here. :)
Wonderful trip for you all but especially young Mr. Cole! A trip with with his Dad and momento’s to have so he will never forget! Did you order a special hammer for the specific work you do that may help?
Back in the day (1970s) we used to take a rigging ax and cut the blade off it then weld some claws on it. There was usually someone on the job site that had a welder at home and could do it for you. That’s how the California framing hammer came into being.
A good father taking his son on a meaningful trip!
Good memories made with your boy that obviously wants to be just like his Dad. Great role model mate. All the best from the land down under. Australia.
Cheers, Col.
Shoot I hope your doing ok over there in Australia, brother.

I learned a lot from this video. Kyle, thanks for putting a person behind the product! Awesome!!!!
When Mark says “don’t ever let anybody outwork ya son” that kid will never forget that.. shit I’m a 25 year old roofer and that hit me.
There are very few Marks in the world. What an awesome experience to meet a legend. Thanks for sharing.
Wow very cool I'm sure your son will remember that for the rest of his life. I love how your teaching your son, a great Dad for sure takes me back to my Dad teaching and sharing great times

Mikey the Maker thanks bud
Fantastic video! Some great memories being made!
Harry Potter meets the magic wand dude. Awesome!!
Great video Kyle. My titanium stiletto has never let me down. I’ve had it for 15 years and the only thing that’s ever happened to it is the wooden handle gets lose sometimes but I just soak it over night in some BLO and it’s ready to go.
Joseph Davis awesome.
whats the BLO please?
Jovo Sedlar boiled linseed oil
Try soaking it in antifreeze..won't evaporate from the wood and will stay tight much longer
brett stahlman it takes more on is the reason. Boiled linseed does not penetrate like thinned raw linseed or your antifreeze
Making memories Kyle.... Good times for sure.
Great video, Kyle. I followed along on IG when you were in Cali, was cool to see this all put together. Your son is very fortunate to have a father like you, keep up the good work man! Love my M4 by the way! Mark makes the best hammer, no doubt in my mind about that!

5 years later I finally bought one!
Wonderful trip for you all but especially young Mr. Cole! A trip with with his Dad and momento’s to have so he will never forget!

Don't ever leave us mark. You are what steve jobs was to apple, as you are to hammers and construction.
Back in the day (1970s) we used to take a rigging ax and cut the blade off it then weld some claws on it. There was usually someone on the job site that had a welder at home and could do it for you. That’s how the California framing hammer came into being.
I’ve heard that story.
I gave engraved hammers for gifts for my wedding party. Nothing beats a useful gift!
