Thank you for this video and the thorough explanation along with the graphics. I have been struggling with understanding the differences between 2NF and 3NF and this helped me immensely. I'm hitting the subscribe button next !
i like all video but at last when i see that in 3nf that that one student akil is remove if this record exit than duplication is exit than what we do.. end lastly i say that your all videos are very helpful but that was my small daut about that ...if you see my comment please answer . if you do not like my question than sorry about this.
This is a helpful video. Commenting coz just a like isn't enough for the detailed examples and the work that went in creating this 🙂 I came across this video in my search results from Perplexity AI. Also appreciate you bringing up the challenges of understanding the difference between 2NF and 3NF and re-doing th example with a different approach. Thank you
Thank you for the clear explanation. I have a question. The "student_course" table has two columns. Both columns are ID columns. When we need to enter new data in that table (when a student is enrolled in a new class), isn't it going to be difficult because IDs won't mean anything to us and we will need to look up the ID of each student and the course the student is enrolling in? If the table is in Excel, we can add more columns and use VLOOK up to call the values from the other table. But is this the right approach I am wondering?
Correct! Populating junction tables can be a pain. This process is typically automated rather than done manually. For example, you might use a stored procedure that takes the necessary details, performs lookups internally, and inserts data into the appropriate tables
