    prof.M Siva k.:these derivatives has helped me to generate beam design formulas.go to:awc.org.figure 1 simple beam -uniformly distributed load.another things is the boundary/initial condition,and the graphical representation of each functions;load,shear,moment,slope and deflection. AW

    your assumption for the positive shear force is opposite to what is assumed in timoshenko but at the same time the positive direction for the moment is same. can you please explain the implications of it. I feel that this sign convention will alter the sign convention used for positive shear stresses. Please correct me if i am wrong.

      +ravi pandey because it is convenient in a way that, pretty accurate shape of the structure can be imagined by looking at the BMD..again if we write the signs on the respective coordinates, thngs doesn't change much..

    check this out for me:not a big deal,but I am trying to distinguish between initial position
    ,final position ,and displacement;.alternative:dx=X(2)-X(1),or dx=X(f)-X(i),therefore if M(X2) then M(X1+dx),and you said M(x+dx),why?
