Okay because I have ADHD when I was younger I would fall asleep if I drank too much coffee. But as an adult, it does this weird slow/fast thing now and I hate it. My brain will still be incredibly tired and unchanged but my heart will start beating really fast. There was once, and only once where I drank a coffee that magically made me feel awake (I had to sit down it felt like I was suddenly light headed), but I haven't been able to find another coffee that has the same affect. My question is, well, is this ADHD or does different coffee give you different affects??? Like most coffee that made me sleepy when I was younger will now give me that slow/fast feeling, but what the fuck was that one coffee all about??? I nearly fell out of my body like is that how coffee normally affects people???
From what I understand it's an ADHD thing. I have a similar reaction. I've found that it slows my mind enough to help me focus on things, but if I'm not trying to focus then I fall asleep. I've definitely fallen asleep during coffee time with family more than once. If I have too much, then I get the jitters and heart racing. I think it's normal to grow more sensitive to caffeine as you age, so that's probably why you get the racing heart that you didn't when you were younger. As far as the special coffee goes, heck if I know, lol.
This is actually a thing. So the caffeine in coffee has a sharp spike and drop off- same for soda. Tea has a different type of caffeine, so it has a more gradual slope effect. My dad took an undiagnosed ADHD student on a week long trip once and the kid was all over the place. At his wits end, my dad called the kid’s father for permission to medicate him with coffee. The caffeine creates a certain amount of focus that increases attention span. So if someone has trouble focusing, regardless of the reason (ADHD, stress, chaotic environment), caffeine can help. I recommend tea instead of coffee or soda for the improved long term effects, but coffee derivatives are good for an initial jolt. Personally, if I am stressed and I drink coffee/soda, I relax to the point where I sleep. (I have mild attention deficit problems. I could build on my father’s ADHD conversations- yes, he had ADHD, which is why he knew coffee would work.)
Well shit, that's basically it. I mostly either get sleepy or experience no mental changes. But there was one very specific time when I was a teenager, and I had something ridiculous like a triple shot of espresso in the span of twenty minutes, and that made me actually alert for hours. Nowadays I haven't been exposed to that amount of coffee, but man, I want whatever the hell that was again. Sleep apnea is busting my ass here.
Caffeine doesn’t give you energy, but coffee does. There are other things in coffee, so you get some energy. Especially if, like me, you put a crud ton of sugar and cream in it
not up to doing a deep dive of it right now but from what i understand tiredness isn't equivalent to a fuel tank running low or empty... tiredness is when the literal tiredness chemicals build up too much. so what caffeine does is not "gives you energy" nor is it "hides the fuel meter when it runs low" but rather "puts a hand over the cup that's being poured into while you aren't looking"

8:55 this is why when i drink coffee, i put an ungodly amount of sugar in it so that i get an energy high and a “im not tired” high, of course the aftermath is basically me passing out but it gets the job done
16:12, this is quite inspiring! I might actually restart the construction of my conlang that I have been meaning to restart for over a year. I stopped working on it (really them, since it was two separate languages) because I didn't like the direction they were going and there wasn't any planning or structure to them. I might restart them from scratch and just keep copies so I can go back to a previous version if I start to dislike it.

@@Ilias2 A long time ago Tesla made a claim that he invented a 'peace beam,' to be used by the military so that no-one could attack. But after touching up on my source material, the amount of theories surrounding it's designs and the designs of other loosely claimed inventions, it could just as well be a hoax or a conspiracy. If you look up the History Channel's take on the matter, it goes all over the place. But, he did at least claim to invent it and said he would reveal it months later, but he was reported to have died a month later.
@@seriouslyclowningaround3919 he probably tested it on himself
@@seriouslyclowningaround3919 les goooo
@@seriouslyclowningaround3919 And the US Government raided his house after his death and rooted through/gathered up a good portion of his design notes. So...they certainly thought it was real.
I would love to see you, just, reading out a bunch of out-of-context Game Grumps quotes. I don't know, this just sound freaking hilarious
PLEASE I’D LVOE THIS TOO
15:50 sorry but
YES THE FUCK I DO HAVE TO FINISH IT, I AM NOT GOING TO BE ONE OF THOSE WRITERS THAT LEAVE A HALF FINISH FIC FOR YEARS BRO!! ((It’s cool if y’all do, do what you want.))
11:02 - Well .. this poster is definitely not wrong XD
Also .. is this a mood or what? :)
12:10 Listen,it's ok to want decent housing. It dosen't make you broken at all,you want a nice place to live and you deserve that.
PSA: the Gender Fluid drink is a product from Omega Mart, an interactive and oddly disturbing art installation by Meow Wolf. And yes, you can buy it. At least, that's what I heard because I have yet to have the pleasure of visiting it.
Just don't buy the lemons
1:34 The Doctor walks into a bar. The Bartender says "What'll you have, Doc?" The Doctor says "Surprise me." The Bartender mixes up a drink. The Doctor takes a sip and says "Hmmmm. I detect a hint of woodsy flavor and strawberry. What do you call it?" The Bartender says "Its a Hickory Daiquiri, Doc." The whole bar proceeds to pelt the Bartender with peanuts.
On the topic of “checking how much is left in an episode to make sure it won’t stop there” post, Code Lyoko, Kipo, BNA, Beastars, My Hero Academia, and Kid Cosmic did that to me.
Heck, I often exit the episode to check if they won’t end the Arc like that.
Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well (Beastars).
Home is where the water tastes normal
He said guess what bitche and then I immediately got a ad... Greatest cutoff ever.
Yeah those 4 days of covid is literally how I've lived my entire life and is just how anyone with ADD and ADHD live. Also if you have anxiety there's a 5th day that is remember that thing you did in a social situation several years ago.
15:50 - 🎶 What could I do if I just knew it didn't need to be perfect? It just needed to be? And they'd let me be?
I had to go to the eye dentist on April fools day and it was the only way I could remember what day the Appointment fell on! Protip, book all your appointments you can on days you remember!
it's been 2 months why is nobody acknowledging "eye dentist."
16:43 Scientists once used measurements of Mona Lisa’s face to work out what kind of voice she might have had. I’m sure they could do it with other historical paintings and sculptures.
The trans girl in me is side eyeing this assumption that scientists could actually do that.
@@phastinemoon Scientists be able to, transphobes on social media have proven they can't. Plus, it is likely just the voice the person would have if they didn't do voice training or anything. It's just a more focused version of the "scieentists will identigy yout bones".
0:45 NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THE FACT THAT IT'S CALLED GENDER FLUID??? THAT AINT SPARKLING WATER THAT'S MY FRIEND STORM
It's not a drink, it's just me in a can. Open it, and see me inside.
“I am master of all words and fuck is the best one.” Is absolutely me to the fucking T. Like one day I just woke up and started swearing.
Finally someone else understands the power and awesomeness of shapeshifting.
I've decided that since my life hasn't met any new villains but isn't exactly exciting that I'm stuck on that one objective in the game where it doesn't explain it correctly so your just wandering around till you find something to do and realize "Ohhhh that makes sense" then completely forgets what the next step is. Anyone else at this point in Life or?
I thought Coca-Cola was both a drink and drain cleaner
It doesn’t matter if it’s a drink or drain cleaner. Just give it to Heather.
I’m currently in a version midsummer nights dream (it’s been suessified) and our “moral” we all shout at the end is simply “LORD WHAT FOOLS THESE MORTALS BE” and honestly….. a mood
The theme of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is Faeries playing romantic shenanigans on everyone, including their own, but it ends up happy in the end anyway.
"These last 17 years have an 'oh no' feel that just gets bigger and louder with each consecutive year."
well guess what?

1:57 oh boy. I do that ALL THE TIME. I'll be like "oh no, please don't say this is the cliffhanger. Oh good, 10 minutes left. Phew"

On an unrelated note, 3d printed knife toes are neat but difficult to use effectively.
As an ADHD, the coffee for me still has that 'sleepy' feel. So much so I actually try as hard as I can to drink one before bed.
Great, now I can't stop imagining a Final Fantasy Dragoon going "YEE HAW!" while riding a wyrm or dragon.
THE ERAGON CLIP OMG

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO GETS WHY I LOVE THEM
Caffeine doesn’t give you energy, but coffee does. There are other things in coffee, so you get some energy. Especially if, like me, you put a crud ton of sugar and cream in it
4:49 - *clap clap*
not up to doing a deep dive of it right now but from what i understand tiredness isn't equivalent to a fuel tank running low or empty... tiredness is when the literal tiredness chemicals build up too much. so what caffeine does is not "gives you energy" nor is it "hides the fuel meter when it runs low" but rather "puts a hand over the cup that's being poured into while you aren't looking"
@1:03 They found this at Omega Mart didn't they.
Yep!!! It is a Omega Mart product!!!!!!

this is why when i drink coffee, i put an ungodly amount of sugar in it so that i get an energy high and a “im not tired” high, of course the aftermath is basically me passing out but it gets the job done

And the person saying those oh no's each year? Neil cicirega

That episode thing was me recently with a story bases game that is releasing in parts. I'm flipping my lid at where they ended last
I’m just an idiot watching sports on my TV, but even I COULD SEE WHAT’S IN FRONT MY FACE.
0:58 it's from omega Mart!
Home is where the tap water isn't funny tasting, the porcelain throne is comfortable feeling, and you can microwave something without ultra advanced thinking...

Randy your sticks!
