Hey everyone!
It's time to jump into a super popular rpg series known as Ys and shred one of it's SUPER epic themes!
The original Valestein Castle theme is already such an awesome metal jammin' theme. It goes super hard with some rock drum beats and awesome lead playing giving off very Neo-classical vibes. What's even more rad about it though is that it has very strong eastern melodic styles you hear in popular anime themes and other various Japanese RPG themes. Those 2 things combined made this theme such a blast to arrange.
My challenge here was to maintain the awesomeness of the original with its jamming drums and guitars but also somehow put my own spin on it. This can be tough because it's really easy to take away from what makes the original so awesome when you go overboard with making it your own. I think I struck the right balance here though! I insisted on keeping elements of the original in like the church organ and the rock organ later in the arrangement. But I couldn't resist putting a shreddy solo of my own in here to really bring in my style.
Overall I had such a blast working on this awesome theme and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it.
Let me know what you think and thanks so much for watching!

➤ The original "Valestein Castle" theme from the game "Ys: The Oath in Felghana" was composed by Yukihiro Jindo.

Wild Amrs 1 theme
Since I'm obligated to ask for more Ys after this incredible cover, I definitely have to go with Dark Beasts As Black As Night from Ys III: Wanderers from Ys! The PC-Engine version of that song is so fuckin' good, man. Just imagining how it'd sound with you covering it makes me hope that's a reality someday!
Wow that video was amazing! How about doing cannonball from megaman zero 3 next time? This theme is just awesome I am sure you will like it! Anyway, keep up the good work!
First Flight from Ace Combat 5!
Also have you ever snapped a string while playing?
More Ys? A-Z from Ys 8 would be great.
What makes you the best game music cover artist is that you understand something most remixers and cover artists don't: Never take away anything from the original version. Instead of cutting out parts of the song and replacing them with your own, thereby risking that you remove people's favourite parts, you keep everything, and then add your own skills on top of it, such as sweet solos or intros. That's why your songs never disappoint. At worst, they're as good as the original, and at best, they're far better! This song is a great example of that.
thanks! really appreciate it
Holy crabz, this is arrangement is insane. Anyone who likes videogames and metal should hear it.
Bit of a shame it won't get as many views as other ones just because it's from a lesser known videogame.
Even I didn't play Ys, but I trust your taste and clicked anyway. Was not disappointed.
You should take a look at some of Falcom's music, especially the works of Takahiro Unisuga and Yukihiro Jindo. Some of the most underrated composers in the genre if you ask me.
@@feidamack2006 big agree there. These guys don’t get enough credit.
Seriously talk about Ys classic and great music on your channel cuz it's too good and peeps won't know till people with big followings talk about it
This score is so epic yet beautiful. Makes me wanna cry due to my adrenalin pumps each time I listen to this.
Ys Origin - Genesis Beyond The Beginning! It's already very metal so one of your creative takes on it would be awesome!
More Ys and/or Falcom, lots of great choices of music... love all you do regardless!
That intro holy frick
OK I've watched the whole thing now, and all I could say throughout the whole thing was HOLY FRICK
YS Origins has some of the greatest gamesound Tracks I recommend covering some of those I really like to hear em. Ur doing wonderful covers dam
Ys in general has some extremely underrated music.
Maybe the best from ys. Really love it.
Dude yes!! :D Ys music never disappoints and this sounds incredible!
Valestein castle is one of my all-time favorite video game pieces of all time. Thanks for making a cover version! ♥
DUUUUUUUDE!!! THIS IS A DREAM COME TRUE! PLEASE DO MORE YS/FALCOM COVERS IN THE FUTURE, YOU BEAUTIFUL MAN!!
Request: Ys Origin - Genesis Beyond the Beginning!
Anunciaron Ys memoire: Oath of Felghana y este cover está supremo! Gracias ToxicEternity
Started playing through these games and this was the last one I beat. Of course cause I looked up Ys stuff it reccomended me this video. Had no idea you covered Ys. The music for these games is fantastic.
Amazing!!! I've loved this soundtrack since the SNES days. It rocks so hard. I'm pretty sure it was my gateway drug to becoming a metal fan. That and the intro to Lagoon.
Lagoon seria perfect
Awsome Cover I Iove Ys games so much
Badass cover!
素晴らしい音をありがとう😊
Its so nice to see Ys get some love!
Great cover but Mieko Ishikawa is the composer of this song. Yukihiro Jindo arranged it for the Oath in Felghana soundtrack. Oath in Felghana is a remake of Ys III.
I need an extended version. I could listen to this all day
holy shit @ 2:27 that is SICK.
Great choice. Loved this song since I was a kid.
2:18 jesus those spider hands !
Awesome stuff, but that makes me want to hear an even more metal and cleaner version of Galbalan's theme in Oath!
Oh man, I've wanted you to cover this theme for so long!! Hell yeah, dude.
This deserves way more likes and views
This work is beautiful. Thank you for making my day.

Wtf?! I literally just looked up this song yesterday to see if i wanted a cover of it... Lo and behold, Toxic comes out of no where with the cover. I'm creeped out dude lol, same thing happened with a couple other videos too. Must be fate or something >:) HELL YEAH! Btw, it's HeavensFury on Twitch. Keep up the great work! I..|, (-_-) ,|..I

Finally, someone did Ys music!
Bad ass man, sweet cover!

Holy sh- more falcom covers, please!
Dude! This is an awesome cover! Best song in Ys 3 imo.
Love this game 😊
Love this cover 😍
Oh heck yes dude, one of the best themes in the series.
Curious to hear your take on Overdrive from Ys Origin if youre open to doing more Ys, or Silver Will from Trails if youre looking at Falcom JDK in general ;)
You're awesome. I love your covers.
Absolutely amazing cover
This guy is an absolute animal! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Oh my god, you doing Ys covers! The intro is AMAZING and the way you incorporated organs works really well, bringing the atmosphere from the game.
Now, I'm just gonna say, I love Ys soundtrack so much, have listened to it too much and, then I'm such puritanist about covers being faithful especially when it's about notes being "right", so take the following criticism with a grain of salt: I didn't like the way you changed (omitted) some of the bassline transitions. I think that the back and forth in the original were important part of the flow. Another problem is that the original is the kind of "far away", steadily flowing -kind of epic, while your cover style is punctual, dry, and jumpy (which are your huge strengths compared to others).
As an overall tip (not related to specifically this cover) I would say that for some covers, going more structured could be helpful, I mean not jumping between styles/riffs so often, or just don't use so many of them in one piece. Keep the contrast between riffs, but maybe don't use so many of them. In doing rhythm game beatmaps I've noticed that when you repeat the same (main) passage it should have the same pattern, otherwise it feels it lacks structure and is just drifting around. I can't say for sure if it would work for your style though, this is speculation.
Back to your strengths, I think that Ys Origin's soundtrack would be very suitable for you. Felghana has a few metal-esque tracks similar to Valestein castle, while Origin is more videogamey with really blasting melodies/harmonies but they are also more rhythmic which would fit your style better. You probably have your hands full of potential covers already, but I believe that Ys (and Falcom) game music has some really unique potential. This is the most hyped about your covers I've been in a long time.
Here are the Ys Origin OST that I think would work best as your cover, ranked by cover potential (the first 2-4 are most realistic options):
- Genesis Beyond the Beginning / Beyond the beginning (note that there are 2 kind of styles, kind of basic but epic rocking opening version and the videogamey version that plays in the gameplay (better inspiration for cover IMO), well liked and epic).
- Overdrive (intense, fast, quick/jumpy structure that I could very well imagine you cover this)
- Scars of the Divine Wing (metalesque boss music with fast bass/guitar rhythm and screamy lead)
- Scarlet Tempest (metalesque, fast-paced, really good melody and varying rhythms.)
- Samsara and Paramnesia (very badass bassline and rhythm, my personal favourites, but structure might not work so well. But if you ever cover this, I have to ask for one detail: Notice that in the intro part the bassline jumps up and down a seventh, not an octave like in most parts of the song.)
- My Lord, Our Brave (Very powerful jumping bass rhythm for rhythm guitar, but otherwise a bit empty.)
- Silent Desert (many people like this one, I personally don't, and the steady pace might not work for you so well.)
- Oboro (Very crazy and good opening I always come back to, overall crazy rhythm, but the style might not work for metal cover. But you never know?)
"Demon King Vespar - Super Arrange" from Zwei!! would be amazing
Que bien que suena!!
this 1 song alone was enough for you to earn a sub from me, absolutely stunning cover!
Why do some people still write "Y's"? It's been like 20 years.
