For anyone who has this error but this is not the correct fix: I had the overload error so I unscrewed the bottom and discovered that the cheap piece of paper keeping the wires up and away from the fan had bent over (and presumably touched the fan a little bit when it spun). All I had to do was bend the paper back into place and make sure it stayed while setting the base back on. Works fine.
