I can't understand how anyone can believe he's innocent. It's simply not possible to see any logic in his story. Just imagine: You sleep next to your partner. You hear noises. What is the first thing that every human being would do if he's afraid there is danger? Look for the one you care about. In Pistorius' case: Look at the bed - done. No shootings, no dead girlfriends. Everything else is against human instinct.
But whatever, let's imagine Pistorius really did behave as illogical as he professes. Better look through Steenkamps eyes now: What would you do if you go to the bathroom in the night and suddenly you hear your beloved and loving boyfriend scream and run around the room next to yours panicky? Would you stay silent? Would you stay in your room? Wouldn't you look what happened or answer his shouts for you because you care about that person, because you're afraid something is wrong and you both could be in danger?
    Every. Person. Would. Have. Answered.
Every. Person. Would. Have. Checked. The. Bed.
Never in a million ways I could believe his bullshit. He's lying and he does it because he wanted to shoot her behind that door. Whether it was affect based or not, whether the prosecutor is right or not. Pistorius lies. This is certain.

Exactly. He was screaming at the bathroom for the "intruder" to get the F out of his house.. To think that Reeva wouldn't have responded to any of that is completely nonsense.
Every single person I have asked about this said that they would:
1.) Make sure she is accounted for.
2.) Make sure she is SAFE.
3.) Make sure to get an answer from Reeva before running anywhere..
His version makes absolutely no sense.

I'm NOT saying he's innocent BUT... I just want to say this.
My flat was broken into a few months ago. I woke from sleep, and still drowsy, heard odd noises in the hallway outside my bedroom. As soon as my mind clicked that something was strange I leapt out of my bed across the room, dragging the cover with me, and burst into the hall. I was there before I knew it, though it must have taken a few seconds, and I was shouting at the people I found at the door. Luckily for me they ran away.
Only after they had gone did I turn back to see my girlfriend on the bed, naked. She was dazed, silent and confused. I never once checked to see if she was beside me before jumping up. I assumed she was there because that's where she sleeps!
Now, it's a very different story, and again I'm not saying Pistorius is innocent, but I do find it strange that people are SO SURE about exactly what people do in these kind of situations.
Looking back on it I felt sick that I had removed the covers from the bed leaving my girlfriend exposed. Had the guys not run away who knows what would have happened. Had I thought very logically I wouldn't have left her like that. But you don't think logically in these situations. It is quite possible that you make assumptions instead of checking every detail etc.
You say that "every human being" would check for their loved one first. I guess I'm not a human being?! My instinct was to protect her, and it led me to act pretty clumsily.
As far as Reeva responding, I find it much harder to believe she wouldn't have made a sound. Impossible? No, of course not. Unlikely, sure.
Anyway, I just find it strange that we see humans acting in strange illogical ways day in day out... but when it comes to a purportedly high stress situation like this we think everyone should act perfectly logically.

Greyztone What you are saying is true, in situations of high stress, it's easy to act out illogically, yes indeed. However In the case of OP and Reeva, you have to take what has been said so far in to account. OP maintains he never heard Reeva, not when he was instructing her to call the police and not even after he fired the first shot, no screams nothing. He didn't even hear her fall. All this time, his voice was the only one he heard. So even when he challenged whoever he thought was in the bathroom, still no response from Reeva, when he's been screaming and going nuts, still nothing from Reeva to ask whats going on, or if he's alright or whatever. No sorry just cannot believe his version of events.
I'm going to be crude here and ask, was Reeva a deaf mute???? Given all the commotion going on, she would just sit and wait in the bathroom in silence? OP never calls out, Reeva are you ok? Reeva where are you? nothing?? Nonsense! He;s directing a gun at the bathroom and calling out to the intruder, the projection of his voice would have got to Reeva in the bathroom in which she would have responded.
His entire story is ridiculous and so far fetched and defies common sense,

OK, finally I think I got the missing piece of the (my) puzzle: Ever since I've heard of this story, I was asking myself: How could OP know where to aim at to shoot the fatal shot which finally killed Reeva? ( outing myself: I have never believed his version, but that he intended to kill her because he could not face the emberassement of what ever had happened before the two during that night). Today it became clear to me: OP actually HEARD the noise of a moving newspaper rack, but not BEFORE but instead AFTER
he fired the first shot- This is were the usual useful 'tactic' of mixing truth with lies during fals testemony fired back on him. He said ' moving wood' and needed to explain it, but couldn't come up with a plausible explenation. Then he thought about the moving rack, but forgot under pressure of Nel that it this movement really happened AFTER the first shoots.

I have watched this session over 100 times (obsessively I agree) but what always stands out is his forgetfulness regarding the duvet, along with everything else after the shots but his CLEAR MEMORY of pushing the duvet more onto the bed when he was putting on his legs when he was caught lying in his earlier testimony seeing Reeva's legs under the duvet opposes this statement. There are SOOO many lies but this one makes me cringe everytime I see this session. I only wish Nel would have caught it (NOW you don't remember the duvet Mr. Pis, but didn't you say earlier you remembered seeing the duvet when you put your legs on?) - they really should have reviewed the prior testimony tapes foresically prior to each session which are invaluable in how to catch liars and their lies.

Yep. Computer graphics would save a lot of the misunderstandings with questions as well. They would really pin things down. You could have all the people and all the things moving around in real-time to test the various versions. the stuff they can make for computer games these days, you would think it would be completely standard in courtroom. My guess is it will be one of the "big changes" in courtroom in the years ahead. It has everything to recommend it, except it mean old school lawyers have to get tech savvy with the controls on the thing.

Why did Oscar need to search for Reeva on the floor and behind the curtains when he returned to the bedroom after the shooting? Wouldnt she have responded straightaway if he had alerted her that he was back in the room? And after the shooting, why did he not ask Reeva "Did you phone the police?" considering he said that he had already told her to before the shooting. It would have made sense if he had stayed put after shooting, and shouted at Reeva from the bathroom. By returning to the bedroom, how was he sure that the intruders wouldnt have followed him by climbing thru the window which he failed to check, but claims his eyes were focused on as much as on the toilet door b4 he fired.

Oscar's brother and sister look SO WORRIED....
    written 4/19/14 (6:58 am)
I know that they can see that Oscar's alibi does NOT make sense. I'm sure that if all of us had loved ones in this situation we would want to be supportive. Yet, there is only SO MUCH one can do when you KNOW that someone is GUILTY and that they are LYING! The best that these siblings can do is start separating their emotions NOW, so that they will be able to deal with the GUILTY VERDICT that Oscar will get. We have to remember that although Oscar is CRYING MUCH and purposely VOMITING, Oscar is (NOT) the VICTIM! Reeva Steenkamp and her family and loved ones are the victims and will always be.
It's also sad how Oscar and his siblings are sitting back PRAYING to GOD to spare (Oscar's) life when they KNOW that Oscar PURPOSELY committed the HEINOUS CRIME against Reeva and HOW EASY does Oscar try to make it seem to just KILL and let GOD get him off the hook.
When testifying, Oscar spoke as IF he had such GREAT FAITH in God. You can't KILL a person and THEN, put on GREAT FAITH to ESCAPE the RAPTURE of God. The rapture of God is what comes to WELL a person for doing such EVIL DEEDS and the wellness in this case, is the punishment that Oscar will receive for his actions.

1)Reeva was wearing day clothes when shot
2)Reevas cell phone was found in the toilet
3)Reeva had undigested food in her stomach probably having eaten between 1am to 2 am
    4)Toilet door was locked
5)Reeva was shot in the standing position(possibly talking to Oscar)
6)Five people heard arguing and or a woman screaming and lights on in the Pistorius house.
7)Shots were shot at hip level across door to kill. When the Oscar heard her falling on the magazine rack after Reeva was shot initially he is believed to have adjusted his shooting which explains the direction of the bullet holes.Oscar denies the magazine rack being where it was found by police
    8) Defendant call security and said nothing and when security called him he said everything was fine after the killing.
9)Everything in her overnight bag was packed except her jeans which were on the floor.
10)Oscar Pistorius contention is that he ran out to the balcony to yell for help after he shot Miss Steenkamp but this is unlikely relative to the position of the large fan which is directly in front of the balcony and the position the duvet, also if both the duvet and the fan were always there it makes certain that he never closed the curtains and could not use the darkness as a excuse for not seeing Reeva. ? Her jeans are on top of the duvet making it evident that it had been lying there all the time.

He may not of heard her walk to the bathroom!
Reeve could of taken her phone to the toilet as she was aware Oscar was closing the curtains therefore she would use her phone light to guide her back to the bed!
She may have though Oscar was retreating to the bathroom as someone had intruded the house via the balcony!
Feeling scared as Oscar is screaming "Get the fuck out of my house" she locks the door!!! Standing facing the door too scared to say anything or open the door, hence being shot in the hip straight on!

my reply is not ridiculous, you are fooled by glimpses of information, but not taking into account all of the evidence.
to challenge you in your example, what was said about food content is that 99% of the time food is digested in less than 6hours, and thats a heavy meal, salads and greens take more like 3hrs or less.. thats the food they found on reevas stomach, so although there is a 1% chance of it not being digested, its very unlikely. ALL facts in this case are very fucking unlikely, its not 1 piece of information, but tons of it.
secondly, how do you know she didnt turn ON the light? just because poor Oscar said so.. neighbours confirm the bathroom light was ON!
she could have empty the bladder at any point during the course of the night..so that tells you NOTHING
the fun was inside.. so you come up with the idea that he must have put it inside!? WTF that means? the fan was inside prob all night, he just says he went to get it outside to have an alibi on why he didnt hear Reeva getting up
YOU IDIOT are judging Oscar for who he is, not me. GET THE FACTS RIGHT and then talk.. you are just another ignorant the cant read further than what the defense has to say, and DONT have a critical eye for what the evidence actually is.

How do you not know if there was a duvet on the bed or not when you're checking/feeling around for your girlfriend? Geez. And why would she still be on or in the bed when he had been screaming for her to call the police? She wouldn't still be lying in bed after all that. I was starting to wonder if he is telling the truth afterall, until now. According the OP, Reeva was not only a mute but invisible.

Don't expect him to make sense. Every time he opens his mouth he lies. He started off with a lie, and every time he's been asked about his story, he compounds it by adding yet another lie.
Think of it this way: "MistehP'sturyus" is standing up dominoes in a random-looking pattern, like Nel presents the questions to him. Every time he answers a question or sheds a crocodile tear (non-Americans pls google kthx) he stands up another domino in this seemingly random pattern.
By the end of this trial, Nel is going to have Pistorius so tied up in knots, the puzzle will be complete when the judge hops down and flicks the first domino, and they fall in a pattern that says "GUILTY." :o)

Reeva could also have gone out on the balcony, when he didn't find her beside the bed.
Even after all this testimony, where he knows Nel will check him on every single point, he's still so careless that he hasn't prepared for any of these probing questions. Surely the most important thing about my story, whether it's true or false, is that it doesn't change. After a year to prepare, with the best legal counsel obtainable, he's not prepared to tell one story and keep it consistent, and this is the most arrogant of all the arrogant things about this 'man'.

The bathroom was en-suite, if oscar is shouting in the bathroom for someone to get out of his house surely she would know that he could only be addressing her? She would know she was the only one in the bathroom and if, in the unlikely event someone broke in downstairs the alarm would have gone off. If Oscar was as safety conscious as he stated then she would know the house was alarmed.

From what I know, Gerrie Nel has not capitalized on something extremely crucial, and that is, why was the door slammed? The answer is because OP is grabbing bits and pieces of what really happened while at the same time fabricating a lie, he grabbed the real part of the door slamming without realizing how crucial that is. Why did Reeva slam the door? Because of an argument of course.

    I have a few ?s:
Anyone who has lived in South Africa or knows about the crime rate there: Is it common for people not to trust & call police if they have been involved in a crime?
Trying to figure out if it's weird that all this other stuff happened, like the break in & the highway shooting, not to call police?
It'd certainly be strange in the US.
Also having problem with the gated community; is it strange to act so paranoid in a secure estate? Even though crime is high?
These are ?s I consider to be very important.

He was so scared seconds before he shot at the door because he feared for his life, why would he not just leave and call for help there and there, as he shot at intruder(s). Remember it's intruders, which you no longer hear those noises that made you fear for your life so please tell me why any person would not just quickly get out of the house call the neighbours or police there and then. Reeva would have ran out, if there hadn't been a fight between them and everything was loving as he says.

He used a Glock 27 which holds nine bullets in the magazine. The gun itself can only hold one bullet at a time. This gun is designed with a safety. The safety must be released before a bullet releases. He fired four shots and five remained in the magazine. He used Black Talens bullets which are designed to spin and explode in a claw-like fashion (hence the word talens - a bird claw) once it has entered its target. Of note also, this weapon requires a 5-7 lb. pull on the trigger to release a bullet. This boy knew what he was doing. This girl died an excruciatingly painful death.

This detail is up to forensics to decide and the judge isn't listening to a word Oscar is saying.

The looks on the faces of the Pistorius family today say quite a lot. They look like they know Oscar is guilty and they want out of this nightmare scene...

I've been in the family's situation before & it sucks, for everyone involved ;(
In 1996 my big brother, Jamie Stafford, was shot & killed by his "best friend" during an argument over a girl they both cared for.
The defense was self defense, even tho my brother was unarmed at the time b/c the killer had HIS gun. (My brother was shot with his own gun.)
Just because Jamie could fight well & defend himself, his "friend" told the court he felt his life was in danger.
Jamie never seriously hurt anyone during a fight in his entire life & he didn't have a short temper.
I struggled with & still struggle with the fact that his "friend" felt so threatened by Jamie's bare hands that he felt he had to find the gun & use it! & the fact that the legal system justified it!
The outcome was not guilty on murder 1 & guilty of the lesser manslaughter charge. He only spent 3 months behind bars for shooting Jamie 3 times, point blank in the chest.
I grew up without my big brother ;( 15years later, it still hurts.
I feel so badly for her family. I broke down into tears thinking of how they must of felt during the autopsy testimony. Having to hear all those awful details ;(
My thoughts & prayers are with them.
This trail has been difficult for me to watch, so i can only imagine how the family must be feeling.

Possible scenario : Reeva&Oscar left the coffee shop. Oscar followed Reeva close behind unbeknown to Reeva. She picks up present. Visits herX. Then goes to Oscar's home. He arrived shortly after. He probably had a long face. So the evening may not have started off well. She ties to get him to talk. He being evasive not wanting to say he was spying on her. He said that he helped her go over her contract.
He may have not agreed to all the commitments she would have away from him. Maybe she said he was silly. He then brings up all sorts greviences against him. A quarrel begins she wants to leave. Oscar rethinks and convinces her to stay they will sleep on it.
He wakes through night or not slept at all, brewing with rage at why Reeva had not mentioned her visit to her X. She wakes up and queries him,he goes into a rade and tells her he followed her . She is insensed about his mistrust, a full blown argument behinds. Oscar shuts the balcony doors draws blinds.
Reeva had enough ,wants to leave. Puts on jeans. Heads to locked bedroom doors. Tries to remove cricket bat from under handle which keeps the door tight against the damaged door jamm. She removed cricket bat,Oscar takes it from her, she noe is spewing angry to, she may be threatening him with exposure.
In a blind rage he whacks her against the head. She stumbles, he drags her over to the bed.(blood on bat, bed had, wall?). He pulls her jeans off, and she may of escaped to the toilet. He chased her he heard the door slam.
He begins wacking the door. She screams trying to keep the door shut, screaming his a lunatic. This makes him lose total reason.Says. 'I'll showe yuu hoe Cryzee I em' he goes get gun and the rest is history,
