I personally prefer lehenga two but she looked beautiful in all four
Yes it looked so beautiful on her
Lehenga 💕
Yeah the legengas are considered more traditional for the 4th day. But the sari looked snatched on her ✨
@@Falak8-c9s 4th day? Aren’t there only 3?
absolutely. the lehenga looked the best on her
You should have brought at least one desi friend/relative when you went sari shopping. Idc what anyone else says... the people you brought to go sari shopping with won't know what's appropriate for each occasion. And the 'sense of style' in desi clothes is way different from western wear, so bringing a desi person for their perspective is so important!!
The friends she brought are probably her local friends, I'm guessing some relatives are getting pictures to help her decide.
but isn't she the desi lol
She is not shopping, just looking for some inspiration. No problem to add friends in thst experience.
I was gonna comment the same, not one of them clocked the PRINTED pattern on the second sari!! Wheres the kadai?!? That is why you need a desi eye :D The lehengas were so much better
@@janekof they’re obviously saying to take another desi
If your fam doesn't mind, I say go for the Lengha! It's so modern and customizable, and you truly looked like a princess. Also, shout out to this lady doing the draping, she showed you different ways to drape them, and that is so cool.
yeah its really beautiful
Wearing a lehenga means you cant wear it again. But saree...you can wear a zillion times after your wedding day!
@@dOVERanalyst how can you explain please like is it like a wedding dress but sari is more traditional
@@axiiarmy9898 Yes. I can surely explain.
All Hindus across India and SriLanka and anywhere else have tons of similarities in culture and wedding traditions with some regional flavour.
Saree is the most appropriate traditional thing to wear in a wedding.
However unlike west we aren't strict on what shade of red or even no red.
But white and black are blasphemous. Choose any other colour for a bride and no elders will hit you. Lol.
But sarees are worn all over India (and by what she said SriLanka seems EXACTLY orhodox like us).
North Western India to be exact, especially only Punjab, delhi side...or the Royal Rajasthani palace weddings..have lehengas worn (it is accepted in current society).
Rest of India if allowed to wear a Lehenga, usually wears it on reception or engagement. ( We usually have 5 day weddings...so any other day but not the WEDDING DAY).
Lehengas sadly have become ONLY a wedding attire. Like you can't wear this to someone's baby shower. But you can wear the sarees to someone's birthday party or baby shower...any normal function..
Like just be as toned down as she was without the bridal makeup and modest jewelry (and voila! You're instantly transformed from the bride to a more wearable modest wedding guest).
Thus, sarees are reusable.
Lehengas, especially the bridal Princess like lehengas can't even be appropriate to be worn as a guest unless it's a royal wedding lol..
@@dOVERanalyst ah ok thanks for letting me know more about the culture i definitely learned more
the dark wine red lengha outfit was so pretty and I was lowkey hoping she had picked that but nonetheless congrats on your wedding ❤️
The last one? It was GORGEOUS. Literally my jaw dropped and stayed dropped that entire segment.
@@caseygould44 Same, I legit want to get married to wear that
@@annabethjackson1871 it'd be cultural appropriation if I wore it but I BET YOU'D LOOK BEAUTIFUL
@@caseygould44 ikr yup I was referring to the last outfit!! Such a pity she didn’t pick it in the end
onetopbbloveyou.linK
I just realized..that boutique sells outdated dresses like 10-15years old..everything looks beautiful but traditional is very different from outdated.well you can't find the latest fashion in foreign land..
Ya I thought that too cause the bridal lehengas here are so modern and different my aunt who lives in the us also buys her traditional clothes from India
It's like this in most places in the U.S. If you manage to find a nice shop with more trendy pieces then the price is crazy. India truly is the best for Indian clothes!
100% agree. these are sooo out of fashion!
the fact that the fourth one wasnt even in the running is a disgrace
the fourth was the best out of all the outdated designs but only a desi friend could help pick that out
go follow your burqa culture stop fetishizing indian culture
@@nishantsharma8824 bro what
@@nishantsharma8824 how is that fetishizing and burqa culture??really??
@@aayushigeorge6225 failed terror theocratic states ashamed of their burqa culure hate hindus/india but are always no. 1 when it comes to fetishizing indian culture, Bollywood , weddings..
The last one is a showstopper. Positively stunning.
idk why she didn't pick it
I wish you had a Desi friend to go with you, so you know what would be in style/ appropriate for the occasion. Usually North Indian brides wear Red or wear lehenghas for their weddings. Many other areas and states have different colors or fabrics or styles.
#1 Looks like what a wedding guest should wear, not the bride.
#2 Is a more traditional silk, which many S Indians wear. But the blouse needs to change. And add jewelry
#3 That is v. North Indian bridal lehenga with a dupatta/chunni to go over your head, too. This is the only one that is bridal level so far.
#4 Beautiful,too but not as amazing as #3. ?
I was thinking that too, she definitely needed a desi friend there. Agreed on everything else too
The first was a receptiony saree, for a guest.
Silk sarees are the one to go for brides. And lehengas are no-no if you want a traditional south Indianwedding
she’s Sri Lankan not Indian though
@@satnamsattykaur most of Sri lanka has Indian traditions or atleast something similar to it.
@@satnamsattykaur but either way I bet lehengas aren't traditional there, at all
Is it weird that I am indian and I think all the saris and lehengas are very gaudy and all these designs are completely outdated 😎
Usually Indian American wear like that 🙈
Ya me too but it’s her wedding and she seemed happy 😃
Glad I'm not the only one
I agree! No one in India has this kind of an aesthetic! It is so dated!!
Exactly!
Idk y but i always think that western countries had old fashioned sari/lehengas from always
I think they should visit india for their lehengas 😂😂 i would have done that if i were rich ( i mean to get the best dress)
They should check sbyasachi or even lehengas from chandni chowk are way more fashionable
Exactly what I thought too. All these sarees and lehengas were too old fashioned.
Honestly when I see saris/lehengas on western shown on tv/UA-cam, I think the same! But actually in real life, it’s totally not true! Like as somebody who is raised/living in the West, we have super beautiful, modern outfits, just like Pakistan/India. I just think they choose the wrong shops in these shows!!
Tbh if you see properly around the store background they do have new design maybe it's brides choice or demand or budget. I have seen so many good foreign store on insta and I want to purchase from them
@@heenagidwani3696 may be idk i only loved that white one in the background+ i am talking about other videos too (youtube only not ig)..not this one only
@@peace4ever786 i am talking about indian bridal dress only..as for the gowns those are damn pretty 😍
No matter where in the world you are but if you go to find a saree.... you'll find shop named "saree palace" and bangles wrapped in plastic...the noisy plastic😂😂
sari*
@@peytongoldston2993 ummm I'm an indian who currently lives in India. It's Saree😊
@@peytongoldston2993 Saree or sari? Saree is more common spelling in India. So, don't try to correct the commenter.
I'm Indian lived and still living in India.
It's almost ironic how people like you who know nothing about our culture have the sheer audacity to correct the natives!
@@anolalobo5574 I completely second that. It's saree. Everywhere in India, that's the common spelling.
@@peytongoldston2993 correcting an English spelling for a word that isn't in English is pretty useless bro

She’s Sri Lankan
She's Sri Lankan...she said that literally in the first 2 minutes 😂
Very similar cultures
Better now?
The saris are beautiful but looks a bit too plain as most people wear those to a wedding not to their own wedding.
Probably...but in many indian cultures wearing sarees (draping can be different) is the tradition for brides
the sari always shines differently once the bride is in full makeup and jewellery so until then, it looks really plain
most brides nowadays i noticed wear lehengas so i’m curious if nina will consider a lehenga
Yeah, i think I'd think of wearing the silk saree for my engagement or my sister's engagement or something, but I mean you find more variety in India.
yeah, usually the best traditional dresses are always from their place of origin
it's probably a lot of money to import the more unique saris and that's why most of them in stores here in the u.s. look the same
Sorry but you dont know much about sarees as there is multiple types of sarees for different ocassions and in south india every bride wear saree for wedding and lehenga too but mostly for reception they wear lehengas and i know in north it is different and its thier personal choice .
Velvet lehngas were in fashion in India back in 2003🙄, honestly all these designs and colours are outdated. I don't understand why the stores outside of India have such old designs🤷
Velvet lehengas are actually back in the runways. 😊
Velvet lehengas are still in trend. You can see them litterly in every shop
@@pinkheart315 yes but not with this kind of old looking embroidery
I think velvet lenghas are always good if you’re getting married in the Fall or Winter because it’s cold in Canada
The "purple" velvet Lehenga was so damn beautiful! But you could tell she wasn't comfortable.
1) wedding guest appropriate but too simple for the bride
2) old fashioned looking. Kinda aged her a bit
3 and 4) Perfect show stoppers!!!
Our girl is marrieddddd 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
I think she did a courthouse wedding, so she’s married already

Classy, dignified, respectable, represents us well, worthy of showing the outside world 💁🏽♀️♑️💕
Exactly! This girl acting like your star sign affects all your choices and personality in life.
@@goblinhat0985 Right. How many Capricorns are there out there in the world? They can't be all the same. 😂😂😂😂
I’m pretty sure she’s Tamil from SL, and we wear sarees, so for all those that are suggesting lehengas maybe understand that not everyone wears lehengas for their weddings. And additionally there’s better fabrics to wear that will make it look grand without the bling. The fabrics in this store weren’t the best.
Edit: just for the record I feel like Canadian stores have a ton of better selections since our country sort of encourages multiculturalism, whereas the US sort of pushes the melting pot ideology more and there’s not any encouragement of keeping in touch with your culture outside of big events like weddings
I have never clicked on a Video this close to after it was released
Same
My god, all were distasteful. I genuinely wonder as to why most NRI stores have such substandard and loud designs. Indian ethnic wear is so diverse and beautiful. Even the most traditional sarees can have such lovely twists on it. Keep it simple and lovely please!
🤨 your attitude is distasteful
@@michellestella7477 because I point out how ridiculously mediocre these dresses look? Lol sure
@@wordinaryeardough9016 no because of how you are bringing your point across!
@@michellestella7477 lol, I've been very polite really. It's a fact that these stores keep the most outdated and non-classy stuff. Too bad if critique is offensive. Not once did I abuse or anything. The textiles frome my country is absolutely wonderful. South Indian/Srilankan ones especially. Lehengas are from a miniscule part of India, it's not even her heritage.
@@michellestella7477 hey I am also Indian..She is telling facts..Those are all age old bad designs which you would get for cheaper prices in clearing stock sales.
Maybe I'm just saying this from a Pakistani perspective, but these designs are outdated ngl
She looked beautiful and happy tho, and that's what matters I guess
Ya me as an Indian too think the same but she looks beautiful in all 😍😍
Yep Indian boutiques in western countries sell age old bad designs
Nah they aren't really outdated. They're still popular designs among brides even today.
They are totally outdated in India too ...
But still... Nothing beats CHANDNI CHOWK in Delhi
Review that one asked for 😂
1st one ..something your family members should wear for your wedding
2nd....the blouse should be changed ..it's a bridal saree but an old design...it's more like mangalorean sado saree
3rd...its a perfect bridal lehenga..needs heavy jewelry..you'd look amazing
4th...old design and Punjabis would be drawn to that color...skip it gurlll not for you ...I guess
I'd suggest 3rd one ...but I'd actually love a good deeper sindhoor red kanchipuram saree...new design
KANCHIPURAM WOULD LOOK SO GOOD ON HER YASSHSHS
Third one was the prettiest by FAR
The purple toned langah ( hope I spelled that right) was stunning and looked so nice with your skin tone.
Lehenga**
when she said 'sri lankan' i shot out of my seat. i never really get to see any people with at least a tiny relation to sri lanka on the internet so this shocked me, in a good way though.
ikrr same here
They were all beautiful. My favorite one was the velvet one . But they’re all gorgeous.
Personally, I feel lehengas look good on a modern bride, because most of the wedding guests, especially the aunties would wear silk sarees. So a bridal lehenga would stand out the most. Btw I loved the second saree. I would love to see the second saree's pattern on a lehenga. It would be so pretty ❤️
The simple solution is to wear a lengha when you are sitting on the stage with the groom and clicking picture with relatives and wear a sari during the actual wedding ceremony (sat phere and all). I'm a Garhwali and this is what happens in my community. Most of the guest don't even stay for the most important part of the wedding. They just eat food, click pictures and go home.
Also, bridal look is incomplete without traditional bridal jewelry so even if all the aunties are wearing sari you will look different because of the jewelry and red sari as I don't think people usually wear red on someone else's wedding.
to me as a person who have seen a lot of saris in my lifetime these were quite disappointing to me....all the pieces look cheap and they have no "modern" look whatsoever
Say yes to the dress = Say Seri to the Saree
Damn😂😂
Lmao😂
Nina looks absolutely breathtakingly stunning in all the options 😍😍😍
As I said before, please contact Sabyasachi for Wedding Sarees!
I promise Indians are literally royalties your culture is so beautiful 😍😍
I've never understood why women shave their eyebrows just to draw them back again...i mean...look at Nina's thick eyebrows
..she's gorgeous😍
Because the majority of women don't have full eyebrows like her. I personally have a lot of hair at the beginning and halfway the hair is lighter so it looks weird.
@@Lola-Lola88 she absolutely right .second of all ,it is not our place to insist or tell someone what should be done. At the end of the day it is their life and their own decision
Usually they dont draw them back at the same place or with the same shape. Sometimes your natural eyebrows dont frame your face like you want so you change them
Damnnn all of them are sooooo beautiful on her and the saari was very nina ....I'm soo happy for her ....congratulations nina!!!!!!!!
I think you should get something directly from Srilanka or even India bc I think you will find smth more modern yet still traditional that will make you stand out!
also, i love the third and fourth ones!!
You may be the first person I see in the comment to remember she is tamil
The way she pronounces “dupatta” as “duputa” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"what is she draping over you?!" I'm crying that she brought desi clothing virgins to help her pick her bridal outfit
hahahahhhhhaha OMFG she borught the non brown ppl im crying
I love how everyone has gone an Indian Aunty on Nina and has started giving their advice XD
I hate advices, but I had to say this, bringing those people and choosing those outfits your wedding is a no-no
The shape of the first sari was to die for!!!
I love Indian weddings and clothes. They are probably the most beautiful dresses I've ever seen.
This made me think of Nazranaa Diaries! 😊
The thing is...the first two were more like what u wear to a wedding rather than what u wear to your wedding.....and all of the outfits were amazing 👍
I LOVED #4. The color and the pattern and fit looked so good on her.
The most beautiful bride I've seen in so long and I'm a baker. 😍 Gorgeous!
Me :trying to finish my math homework on time Sunday night
*gets new video notification*

I literally have my exams tomorrow 😂😂
The purple lengha 😭😉 she slayed it and now I want it for my wedding lol. Just loved the colour.
the first lehenga omg if i were getting married to someone of that culture, THAT would be my wedding dress. it was STUNNING.
I am glad you love it but the bride is supposed to use the most embroidery and the most blind and extra. A bride from India wouldn’t even wear that me personally being Indian my guest lehenga is much more regal than even that saree. I think for your wedding day you could do Lehenga 3
I'm not trusting the lady who recommended her the second saree, that silk banarasi is what your mom would probably wear to your wedding, not you😂😂
I liked the last lehenga best on her. I think instead of red, berry is more her color. Also, the vertical embroidery made her look taller and slimmer.
Nina you look so BEAUTIFUL
In all of these Sari's
The Wine lehenga is gorgeous.

Nina, I love this experience for you. Look forward to when you say "I do." I have always loved Indian traditions. My friend/neighbors growing up were Sri Lankan, and always loved the mom's saris!
My favorite was number 2 my first reaction was like wow she looks gorgeous especially with that gold top and that dark red.. even the embroidery was intricate for a queen
They was all so beautiful!!!!!!! I love how theres a ton more variety then like a typical western wedding dress selection.
Question. Would it be culture appreciation to wear a sari or lehenga outside of the culture. Not for a costume as all, but to just wear and appreciate how amazing those are?
No
No it won't try whatever u want, people getting offended are just snowflakes
Okay there have been a few too many videos abt this lol😂
Is it just me or the last lehenga was just perfect and she was looking like a full princess in it?

Traditional wedding. Saree it is. However, you looked stunning in the velvet lehenga. Sometimes it looks too much but it looked perfect on you!! Maybe for a pre wedding ceremony or mehndi 😁
Ghosh she isn't married yet? I'm sick of her wedding planning.
Dammmn she got me... I knew she would go for saree #1 but with the saree#2 color
I HAVENT WATCHED THE WHOLE THING BUT MY JAW DROPPED AND I GASPED SO LOUD WHEN SHE PUT THE 2nd Dupatta (I’m new to learning about this culture so I apologize if I spelled that wrong) ON THE FIRST LENGHA ON
I think what would be best is if you got a custom sari/ lengha and take details from clothes you like and add them on the custom one
Ngl I'm jealous of how pretty this style of clothing is. Western wedding dresses are far too low-key and traditional plain white looks blech imo. Part of me wishes I could wear this instead but I know I wouldn't be able to appreciate it properly since I'm not from the culture. So pretty >.
It's ok if you wanna wear it go ahead, it's your choice and indians always love when people from other cultures try something like this
The funniest thing is that the Indians in the comment section are saying that these designs are outdated and kinda plain for a bride to wear like a guest could’ve worn those, I guess that’s how simple the western wedding dresses are 💀
omgomgomgomgomg
THIS WAS *AMAZING*
That burgundy sari is a handwoven silk Banarasi sari from Varanasi, India. It takes a month to make it on a handloom, I guess people will appreciate it more if they know how much effort goes into creating a it. :)
