    Great video! When ordering balloons, how do you gage the quantity you will need? If there are excess balloons leftover do you just give them to the client?

    • @valsballoonsandbusiness
      @valsballoonsandbusiness  23 дні тому

      Hello. For a standard 15-16 ft balloon garland, I buy one pack of each size in each color in the brand i use, and I always have balloons left over. The client keeps the balloon garland and nothing more unless it's a customized vinyl banner cutout or sign made specifically for them

    This was very informative. I am trying to delve into the balloon decor business and it seems everyone is so hush hush about what they charge and how they arrive at their fee. Thank you for your transparency!😊
    I have a question. Did you have your business set up before you started balloon decor, or did you wait until you were constantly getting booked?

    • @valsballoonsandbusiness
      @valsballoonsandbusiness  Місяць тому

      You can operate your biz however you'd like. Make sure you charge for labor and delivery and make sure they're using quality balloons, a sturdy backdrop, and that they bought enough balloons

    This is exactly what I needed to hear. Question: do you have your clients pay for the balloons you order? Or do you pay for them and charge them for what you use from the packet?

    • @valsballoonsandbusiness
      @valsballoonsandbusiness  2 місяці тому +1

      My prices include the cost of all balloon packs purchased for the job. I don't charge by the balloon or separate packages.

    hi valencia! thanks for the video 😊
    i may be overthinking.. the balloon cost in the materials charge .. is the expectation to use full packs of balloons per job? (i hope i make sense).

    • @valsballoonsandbusiness
      @valsballoonsandbusiness  2 місяці тому

      Yes, and somewhat yes. I always allocate a certain amount of the materials cost for buying more packs of balloons even if I have some leftover from the previous . The only time I would divide up the cost of a single pack of balloons is if I were making centerpieces or something like that

    I’m a little lost on the rentals part. Are u meaning u have to rent them from a company or are u meaning the customer is renting from u to use in the setup at the event? If it’s the first and u are only charging half of what it cost u, then wouldn’t that other half cut into ur profit? If it’s the second, shouldn’t the use of the equipment come along with the setup because it’s needed regardless and especially because u actually own the equipment?

    • @valsballoonsandbusiness
      @valsballoonsandbusiness  Місяць тому

      If you rent out an item that belongs to another vendor, you charge full price. For example, when I rent out marquee numbers from another vendor, if they charge $60, I usually charge $65 to cover the cost of the number and a little for gas for me to pick the number up. If you rent out one of your items that you own, you charge 50%. You may own an item but you have to make your money back for purchasing it in the first place. Plus, the purpose of renting out equipment is to make a profit. If it's a specialty item that you more than likely will not rent out again like a character cutout or custom sign w/ client's name on it, charge the client full price and they can keep the item. Only buy equipment that is highly requested, and you can pay yourself back for it quickly. Hope this helps.
