    I had a 78 b120 GX Plus for about a year in 1988. It was the same green and in rough shape from previous owners. I used i to drive to work in the Idaho desert and would get 50+ mph. It was a fun car to drive and it cruised at 70 mph nice and straight. It had a 5 speed manual with 1st gear located "in and down" with reverse "in and up" where 1st was on most normal transmissions. I remember accidently shifting to R at a stop lights a few times waiting to go. Such a fun car to wrap up the revs and shift.

    I knew she'd go! Datsuns always go. My mother had an '81. When it acted up, she'd smack it with a hammer and it would go. Wicked little car.

      If he plans to derby it i will gladly trade him my 1975 B210 2 door sedan it already has all the glass/dash/interior out of it i was gonna save it but hey this one was a local to me one owner car.....and it was originally sold at a dealer I once worked for so it would actually have some emotional connection to me.
      My mom had one just like this but a darker green.
      Mine is a clean title too

    Japanese engineering at it's best! 40+ MPG all day long! I had a 74 4 door B210 in High School, awesome on gas, back in 78-79 when gas went from 48 cents to over $1 a gallon. I worked at a full service gas station making $1 an hour as well. Good old days, reclining seats and drive in movies, many babies were made that way!🤣🤣🤣

    • @rustsweatgears4596

    • @bigjohnson7415
      @bigjohnson7415 Рік тому

      @@rustsweatgears4596 Yeah, but minimum wage was like $1.35 back then too! Would you gladly take that? I was making $1 an hour at the gas station, in a small town that hadn't heard of the minimum wage! So for me gas is far cheaper today, as I had to work 1 hour to buy a gallon.

    👍👌👏 Simply fantastic! This was definitely one of the easiest first starts I have ever watched. Seems that it really wants to live. I love nearly everything that is green. I absolutely like this car (and not only because it's green). On our former family property once was a Datsun/Nissan dealer and shop. Therefore I know pretty well, how good the engines, gearboxes respectively drive trains had been. Rust was the worst enemy of course. This car wants to live and it is definitely a good daily driver, even nowadays. Not much fuel consumption and very manageable technology. Tires are cheap too. I really hope, that there will be a second part or even a series about this cute car.
    Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
    Best regards luck and health.

    Those were pretty popular back then. You saw a lot of those, Corollas and VW Rabbits. There was a package on the B210 called the "Honey Bee" which i think was an attempt to add interest to the most stripped-down, economical B210.

    How I wish I still had my ‘77 B210 hatchback, brown exterior, brown carpet and beige seats… California emissions, so I got 45-50 mpg. I sold it in @ 1982 as I moved close to downtown Minneapolis in 1981, and it was mostly just parked at the curb. Loved the lines and ‘those taillights’!

    80 hp is actually perfect for most new drivers. My first car actually was a 73 gran torino fastback.

    • @twoeightythreez
      @twoeightythreez 2 роки тому +1

      80hp actually is a powerhouse for its era. Its only a 1.4L OHV motor.
      For comparison my daily is a 2012 Honda Fit with a 1.5L VTEC SOHC MPFI engine and it only makes about 40hp more than this A14 engine, which is also tuned for torque.
      The B11 Sentra that replaced this car in 1983 had a 1.6l SOHC engine that could only manage 69hp!

    Glad to see it running and driving. I love the Datsun B210's. I've had five of them. They are great little cars and reliable. The only complaint I have with them if the driveshaft berrin goes out you have to replace the driveshaft. That blue light on the dash is a rear window defogger. I had a friend that special ordered hers back in 1978. It was a 1978 GX model with automatic. It was the light rust color with light brown vinyl interior. It had the same stripes as the one you have but they were a different color than yours. You are very lucky to find that car. Take care of it and it will take care of you. Happy motoring in it.

    A B210 is magic. Learn so much on that simple car. A 14 engine can double horsepower with a good but radical cam and cars but would need compression using flat top pistons and shaved heads to about 10.1 compression . More bettet😆
    Have fun. Wiki Datsun 1200. Same family. And 80 or so 310 had IC distributor. 2 wires . One to coil jeg the other to ignition plus

      It was an R title when i found it, it supposed to be in alot worse condition that it was, i did the title before even seeing the car, so i just made it salvage to keep the cost down. I regret doing that now. Looking into getting back to R title, and considering antique registration as it then wont need annual inspection.

My father was a service adviser for over 20 years there and my first "real job was there as a quicklube tech and this car kinda stirs the feels a bit knowing my dad may have even scheduled service on it back when.
    Key is now gone, Its now one of the star auto malls
