I feel like Buildcraft was the precursor to most tech mods, including Industrial Craft.

Yeah, buildcraft was great, but I feel that Industrialcraft is what really took of tech mods
i remember wanting to play build craft so bad as a kid but i could never figure out how to install mods lol
To be honest, what I like about gregtech is a feeling of late 2000 early 2010 nostolgia. When you would come across some random forum or community on the internet and barely understand what was even going on, there would be layered inside jokes and a culture that made it hard for new people to get into, and the format of forum pages didn't help it at all. Learning about Gregtech is like stumbling upon some niche forum in the 2000s

@@judi5832 If you want to understand concepts but in a more fun way yeah. It doesnt directly teach you obviously but it does give you an idea of multiple topics.

IMO Gregtech 6 has good realistic chemistry too. Especially with the upcoming Gregtech 6 Extended add-on (which is still under development).
Imagine not being a part of the grand Gregification… would be ridiculous.
Ngl thanks to Greg I started heavily studying engineering, chemistry, and math
I turned my grades from a 4.32 average in math to becoming a top student thanks to the glory of GregoriusT.

Man I remember those Greg vs mDiyo drama days. Something to do with the crafting recipe for sticks I think it was. GT added a harder recipe but Tinker's had the tool rod craftable to sticks or something.
That was the last time I ever really paid attention to GT up until IGBLON did his videos on it (I remember watching Duncan from Yogscast doing videos on it). Now I'm watching Threefold's second GTNH series and IGBLON's NomiFactory series.
It is funny how the history of these things is fraught with people falling out over this block game though

I've always been into tech mods but gregtech was always the mod that added too many single use items and flooded my chests so I avoided it for a long time.
Currently doing a nomifactory playthrough. The gregification has begun and wont stop.

that's a pretty interesting fact that Igblon actually caused such a big impact. I had heard about Gregtech before but his video is what really pushed me to try it. I hate it so much but im so addicted
Man, that initial footage really throws me back! I remember vaguely of a singleplayer and multiplayer version of Technic, and I remember the Tekkit Launcher, too.
The old Gregtech was great, it wasn't that complicated and was something I could still understand, but it was the old days, now is the new, yeah.

(I've played on 1.18.2 server with a modpack (standard technomagic with space exploration), but as always bugged Botania killed its performance)
also now gtceu devs made gtceu 1.19.2 and some other guy made a modpack with it called statech, also haha spinning ebf

Actually before industrialcraft 2 there was industrial craft 1 , which first came out for like beta 1.3 or beta 1.4(not really sure might be earlier or later). The last MC version that had IC1 was beta 1.7.3

reminds me of the idea i had to make a modpack centered around both Reika's mods and GT5U. never followed through with it, but it probably would've sucked

gegtec best mod, for some reason it's just fun to play despite being a little bit grindy. it pays off later though when you combine it with other tech mods, especially our beloved ae2.
also you probably should've mentioned a rewrite of gregtech 3 and modern industrialization :troll:

I liked greg b4 the Igblon movie because I played Gregblock 2-3 years b4 that and made it to LV and liked the difficulty of greg but the Igblon movie got me back into greg because greg is powerful and greg needs to be gregged to be gregified to be gregged and only then can it be called Greg

first time I played gregtech was for some reason it was inexplicably in the Test Pack Please Ignore (TPPI) pack back in like 2014-2015 even though there wasn't even any meaningful progression and it basically just made it harder to get the gravitation suite armor :')

There is a problem with any modpack that can be completed single player in less than a year which is why GTNH is far superior to any other modpack.
