I discovered this band just today. I am 72 and an enthusiastic follower of everything going on in rock, blues-rock and blues since the early 60s. How could I miss these girls until now? From the very first tone (Cream intro) I was not only impressed, no, I was blown away by the sound of this music. Very happy to have found such a gem in my old days.
@@TravisOnori You're absolutely right. I am already at work. Absolutely stunning experience..Their own work, their covers (what songs they choose and their outstanding renditions), their collaboration with others ... I could write already an essay, but this here is not the right place. Sorry for calling them “girls“, better. "ladies" or "top female musicians".

I’m watching the concert and see the comment of Jürg. I follow Larkin Poe since I saw them on a Playing for Change video. And they blow me away time and again. I so agree with your statement, Jürg. And I am only 74 years old.
I’ve come back to this 20 times or more now and i notice something new and amazing about them every time. They have real depth to them, natural talent, and a friendly intelligent personality. I love them. And this performance is beyond anything I’ve seen.
Rebecca's vocals are first class, and Megan's slide gives me goosebumps and when you put all those elements together with a great bass player and a solid drummer that equals some damn good boogie roll...
I was at this concert!! Judging by the first minute or so, I was even slightly closer. When Rebecca jumps on the platform, I’m right in front of there. Cathartic experience.

so great to see this - I'v watched LP from when I saw them with Elvis Costello - they are also serious players - look at Rebecca's constant use of the volume knob and Megan's slide is just magic.
This band has paid their dues working with other people. They are mature enough and talented enough to stand on their own merits. Rebecca's vocals are first class, and Megan's slide gives me goosebumps. I can see Sun House looking down and applauding your tribute to his music. I see Grammys coming, but the biggest honor is to be able to perform this music to today's audiences.
Earlier today, my wife and I listened to these two young ladies being interviewed by Bob Lefsetz on his podcast (released 4/20). The 2 hours plus just zipped by - Bob’s a great interviewer and the sisters are smart, charming and have a fascinating personal story. Strangely, Bob never plays any of his subject’s music in his podcast and I was not familiar with Larkin Poe so I was eager to check them out. Wow! This video confirms what the interview suggested - Rebecca and Megan are the real deal and have clearly put in their 10,000 hours (apparently starting with Suzuki violin in their first decade). I’m a fan. Ladies, please come to the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, NJ (your pal Elvis Costello did a while back) - you’ll sell out.
Super concert and great filming. Wondering if the "Show More" info isn't a bit off, showing it's Shania Twain the artist... huh? Like her too but the Larkin Poe sisters are way better. Larkin Poe is coming to Paris in the autumn of 2023 by the way.

Real musicians delivering the real stuff in a most impressive way. What else can I say? Thank you so much for sharing this with us. And greetings from Munich, Germany
I became aware of them in a late night show on German television, and since then I've been watching everything I can find or buy by and about Larkin Poe. This recording is really of good quality. I love Rebecca's open and cheerful manner, her powerful and versatile voice and her solid guitar playing. Megan's playing on lap steel is unique, very soulful and expressive. With this she decisively shapes the sound of the band. The concert recording shows how you can have a lot of musical fun on stage with little effort and without a lot of technical gadgetry, but with solid craftsmanship and a lot of heart and soul, which was also super honored by the audience. I'm already looking forward to the concerts in Germany. 👏
Two sisters from Georgia bringing Nashville blues to Chicago with such energy and musicianship! I am so glad to see them on the road selling out shows. Thanks for posting this, Mastermind.
I drove three hours to see them in Peoria last year but missed them last week so close to home. Thanks for sharing such a great video of the whole show.
I discovered these brillant musicians 4 years ago. By the time they dropped Venom and Faith on stores. With "Mad as a Hatter" and "When God closes a door" live recordings at The Convent. They blew my mind (and my ears) ever since ! We have nothing comparable to American instrumental folk music in France, and certainly nothing comparable to the Lovell sisters ! Thanks to you, Mastermind, I've been able to listen to one of their best fully recorded live concerts :) Thalia Hall Chicago was surely the place to be to enjoy their show ! They were in very good shape that night ! God bless American Musical Legacy !

Saw these super talented sisters for the first time back in the summer of 2015, when they were doing some PAs around the UK. They played an half hour set in a bar and I met Rebecca and Megan afterwards. This was a few weeks before my mum lost her battle with cancer, and there was something about the music of Larkin Poe that connected at that time. Been a fan ever since and I saw them again last year when they played in Bristol. They’re here again later this year, so I’ll be seeing them again. Love what they’re doing, writing and playing great music.
I was riding in my nephew's car several years ago and he was playing a mix and Larkin Poe was in the mix. The minute I heard them and found out who they were I was a fan! Great video BTW!
Absolutely amazing sound and video. What are you using to capture this as I never heard or seen anything as good as this from a live source….it’s nearly as good as an official video. It’s like being at the real concert without the hassle of putting up with morons making a fool of themselves and posing for selfies. Thanks a million for sharing this amazing band
I'm soo glad to see more and more of you girls and your band Larkin Poe on TV and Sirius Radio! You've got some of the best rock and roll blues that I've heard in a long time...Luv your music...Woo Ooo Ooo Ooo
I love how some of their older songs develop and evolve over time. Every single Larkin Poe live show is a new experience, even if they play the exact same set list. This is a stunning version of Mad as a Hatter. For me, nothing will ever top the live recording from The Convent Club, but this one is unique and very beautiful.
I haven't seen a show yet from the Blood Harmony tour, so I didn't realize they slotted Wanted Woman / AC/DC down one spot and closed out the regular part of the show with Bolt Cutters. I think WW / AC/DC has been their closing song for a very long time. It was when I saw them in Nov 2018, and also in 2021. As well as numerous other live shows that I have watched here on UA-cam. Absolutely loved Deep Stays Down as the encore. Starting out the song with both ladies just singing without instruments was very impactful. This was a really special show, which is hard to say since I doubt they have ever done a bad show. They are all amazing, but this one maybe just a little more amazing?
I have commented on other LP videos that I only discovered them in July this year, and strangely enough the first track I found was 'Mad as a Hatter' at The Convent Club. This resonated immediately to me, as just 2 days before this musical discovery marked the funeral of an elderly aunt, who had passed away with dementia. It's been a tough 12 months, as just last week the lovely lady who was my mother-in-law for 36 years also finally lost her own battle with this horrible affliction. Researching the music of Rebecca and Megan these last few weeks has really lifted my spirits, so much so that I'm off to see them live in London in October.
@@goldenoldie68 first, my condolences for your losses. I think it's pretty common for a lot of people to see that particular video as their first introduction to Larkin Poe. I think it has the most views of all of their videos. It was also the first video I saw back when I discovered these ladies around five or six years ago
That was really excellent for being a full show shot on audience cam. Great picture and sound! Finally got to see them, about as close as you, when this tour came through Kansas City. What amazing talents they are!
I know this girls less than a week (I know, crazy, right?) and I can't stop watching their life videos. that's some CRAZY energy! how come they are not world famous? I hope they get all the recognition and success they deserve!
If you listened to her play mandolin much from when they were the Lovell Sisters, you knew it was only a matter of time on guitar. She could flat out shred the Mando
"Bold cutters and the family name" - das ist wirklich ein Hammersong von Larkin Poe, ein super Fender Stratocaster Sound und natürlich auch Lap Steel Sound; ich liebe diese beiden echt tollen Schwestern über alles ... !!!!!!! 😊😊😊😅😅😅❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Saw them in Los Angeles in February...what a fantastic show. I have been wanting to see them live for a long time and was so glad they came through town. Fantastic energy for the whole show and then they brought Mike Campbell and Steve Ferrone from The Heartbreakers out for the encore. Love these ladies and how they carry the banner for guitar-driven rock and roll.
Thanks so much for doing such a great job recording and posting. Had to miss this show due to leg injuries, now got to see it. Have been following the Lovell sisters since Peach. They are something totally different and kill it with songwriting, instrument mastery, vocals and energy in multiple genres from power pop to blues, hard rock, goth, country and bluegrass. The Slide Queen’s slide and super high pitched background vocals are the secret ingredient that elevates their music to the special category along with Rebecca’s songwriting, which was on the verge of dark poetry on the first few LP records and has become a bit lighter in the more recent ones. I have yet to hear anything I don’t like. They are rock stars for people who think and have good taste.
Utterly and completely brilliant set with a level of sustained energy and enthusiasm that I have never seen equaled, especially so adroitly and effortlessly transferred to the crowd. All of the performers were excellent but I am especially a sucker of a steel slide guitar played by a virtuoso.

Magikk sistersssss, RebMeg numbers ONE ! ( from Italy,of course....) GRAZIE!
There's not Only men on stage!! Larkin' poe is here!! Amazing ,Beautiful ,Thank's Girls,😘😘,From little France, Stéphane.
Bravo les filles ! La France vous aime.
Since Rebecca has been with Tyler her leads are way deeper and more complex. Fantastic stuff!!!
If you listened to her play mandolin much from when they were the Lovell Sisters, you knew it was only a matter of time on guitar. She could flat out shred the Mando
The Stones can retire now.
Larkin Poe's energy can take over for them.
Awesome guitar.
"Bold cutters and the family name" - das ist wirklich ein Hammersong von Larkin Poe, ein super Fender Stratocaster Sound und natürlich auch Lap Steel Sound; ich liebe diese beiden echt tollen Schwestern über alles ... !!!!!!! 😊😊😊😅😅😅❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
omg you will be always better .....keep on rockin ..lets do it....2 rock queens
These girls are good! First timer here. I've heard their name, but have never seen them play until now.
Dear Megan , dear Rebevhh❤ 10:20
Utterly and completely brilliant set with a level of sustained energy and enthusiasm that I have never seen equaled, especially so adroitly and effortlessly transferred to the crowd. All of the performers were excellent but I am especially a sucker of a steel slide guitar played by a virtuoso.
Geweldige drummer en bassist.
