@@NinthElement I an thinking of using some thick cardboard boxes and making a side cabinet. Light weight. Tape them together with gorilla tape then cover with vinyl or heavy fabric. What do you think?

Try to go with weatherproof products, as you know from your Baja trip, we are always taking things in and out of the car in the sun, sand and rain. Bonus for weatherproof containers, they can become camp furniture. Cheers!

@@NinthElement I sold it in the Spring last year when I got a VW Eurovan Camper. I toured Northern Califoria in the summer and then aquired the Ford Transit Connect in the Fall. For me, the Ford is the perfect combination of the Element and the Eurovan.

It's amazing what you have done here. And you make a good point about "minimization." With FEW EXCEPTIONS (GIANT RV'S) we all have to learn how to efficiently minimize down to what we really need. So...your layout, the bed looks so comfy. And RE-utilizing the cabinet in the back...what a really smart idea. See, I am really NOT a 'thinker' in this way. For some reason, I just don't 'envisions' how to re-purpose something until AFTER I see someone else do it then I go "YES, THAT'S AWESOME! QUESTION: is that candle "fireplace" the ONLY way to heat something up, or did I miss something? You and I really have to get together....I would love to see this in person!!😀 LUCRETIA
Hi BUTR! Nice to read from you. The Fire Place is actually kind of a joke. The candle and terracotta pot heater does work, and putting it inside the metal box is super safe. Nice creative build! Did you say the bed is from a futon? Looks like the width fits perfect. I also like the the metal cabinet and was wondering why you positioned it with the draws towards the rear. Wouldn’t it be great if draws opened both ways! What year is your Element? I have a 2003 that I am thinking of converting and am going to see what I may already have in the house. What kind of head room do you have in the bed ? Can you sit up easily ? I’m seriously thinking of doing this for a cross country trip next fall..
Not a lot of head room, and if you are following my channel, right now I am having custom cabinets made for my Element. It is all about storage and living out of it. Cheers!

How do you cover your windows at night for privacy?
Normally I don't cover them when I am far out. I have custom Honda curtains if need be, and I am making my own insulated ones that I saw on a UA-cam channel. Thanks for your question, I hope to read from you again someday. Cheers!
