The Bavaria E40 has an interesting deckhouse layout that places the helm aft on a pedestal so the captain overlooks the galley and dining area. She has clearly been designed for sailors who have decided to switch to power, but like the comfortable feeling of binnacle steering. In many respects, the boat is like a pilothouse motorsailer without the masts and sails.
