The original Jeepster is a prime candidate for a tube buggy. Use the sides, cowl, hood and grille shell.
This is a waaaaaaaay better starting point for Michelle's Jeepster!
Excited for this jeepster build coming up
Way Solider!
All 3 of us thank you...,.so far 😂
I thought we were going to see Michelle’s reaction to the better Jeepster.
Absolutely agree 10,000%.
Paul, if you want a bulletproof air system you should use hydraulic lines, and since you have a crimping machine you can do it more affordably than most of us! You will never have air leaks again if you teflon tape and dope and tighten everything really well! It will last 100 years!
That’s so cool my family always makes blankets out of old cloths from someone who has passed on. Love it. Keep my paps with me at all times.
My friend passed last weekend and his family is going to do exactly that.
Glad you haven’t abandoned your Jeepster dreams. I’ve just loved mine since I started working on it 6 years ago. Almost there and a joy to drive.😘
Remember to move the bottle opener to the new Jeepster. That thing is cool XD.
Bot
Omg. This frickin dog stinky
Mr Paul, nice choice on the new jeepster. Happy Wife is a happy life, and your dads quilt is beautiful. I would recommend putting it in a vacuum sealed bag ❤
LOL! Those three people are more worried about the Jeepster than Michelle is.
You should add a little disclaimer that will set these Arm Chair quarterbacks straight. Just simply have to say,
There is Your way to do it,
There is the Right way to do it
but this is how WE do it !!!!
Needs to go on a shirt
@@adrianneedham2373 never thought of that when I said it, but it actually sounds like a good one for a shirt
I love the old blanket Paul Grandma made it was made with love 💕
Jeepster 2.0 is a huge improvement
Those boot dryers are awesome, putting warm, dry boots on every morning makes a huge difference in the winter, you can use them all year long, they make your boots last way longer because it dries out all the moisture and keeps them from stinking
Whenever someone tries to take Grandma for a ride, it takes a moment for them to assume they have the point. Then it takes a tiny moment and BAM there comes the answer and he's lost. I love it! " you will not konw what you are eating ....." lol
I made my wife an awesome rock crawler DD. She was so excited....
It just sits.. she drove 2x.
Bottom line. I love my wife. I have a 2nd 4x4 in the fleet for when she's ready.
Ps we love grandma lollipop she's a fire cracker!
Paul, you are spot on with how children treat toys. My two boys are on a mission to make sure no one in our house has nice things! 😮
@ 16:23 With that grin I think Grandma could be one mischievous kid! Lookout.
The young guy Landon dont seem to be much interested but the guy Cooper talks and seems to on the spot and really adds alot to your videos.
Landon has always been the quiet kind.
Don't let the comments run you guys. All the content creators get backed up. Look how long MORR has had cracked drivers side back window. I sent them 2 back windows for that Corvair wagon 2 yrs ago and it still rolls around with broke back window. 😊 some people just don't have any patience..
That flag is so special
Yeah... Michelle's turn 🥰 Very special blanket/quilt 🥰🥰🥰 Nice to see the Ratback getting used too 🙂 I nice to see your Taco performing great 🙂
Paul, I like how you do when you get ready to start a new project you assist the situation and try to have all the parts you need. When you rebuild something up front, so you're not having to go back to the port store every day
I was happy to se that you finally got the syurp, and the mandrels, those mandrels are used for field assembly of hydraulic hose.
Being a vermonter you made a good choice on syrup. Vermont maple all the way
I am excited about the Jeepster build, and it was definitely a good call picking up that other one. Can't wait to see where this goes!
That’s funny, I almost bought that same jeepster from the original owners wife 6 months ago. I’m in Kingman and watch your channel regularly. My name is Chuck. That’s was the cleanest jeepster I’d ever found, great find. It’s a way better candidate for Michelle
Love your guys videos!! I learned a lot from watching you guys over the years that I have ls swapped and solid axle swapped my own rig in my gravel driveway
That's what it's all about. The inspiration. I personally love this comment. Good job dude.
Watching Paul go vertical with the Taco is what got me hooked. 🎉
Seeing that scenery wld never get old I live in northern Indiana it's either Woods or fields
I agree. Those canyons in Utah are some of the Lord's finest sculpturings.
I live in Maine, so I definitely understand what you're saying.
I watch a lot of these westcost channels for these views, they're breathtaking.
The old clip of the kids and Michelle really shows how long ago it was.
That just shows how time flys & kids grow up . Some of us never grow up , just grow older . 55 yrs young here yall . Juss a baby ! Lol
27:40 "I've still got stuff to do, I really don't want to cash er out yet." Michelle would never forgive you if you cashed out before getting the Jeepster built... 😂
Thank y’all for the road trip again. So beautiful out there. I’d love to see in person one day!
Thank you Paul and everyone for the update on how things are going there !
🎉 Yeah !
Soon Michelle will get a Jeepster ! 👍
I love your denim quilt! I worked 28 years as a commercial electrician. My wife made a beach quilt from my old work jeans. Now when we sit on the beach at Alabama Point, I can remember all the muddy grimy ditch's I worked in.🙂
Thanks Guys
Tom & Cooper are awesome additions to the team!
Michelle we have been looking forward to this day! Love all the Jeep content.. and Willys.. but especially love the Jeepster.
I believe the Willy's and the Jeepster are the only jeeps I've ever seen at Paul's shop. He's one of those Toyota guys 😔. Lol I honestly don't have an opinion on Toyota's.
Don't forget the bottle opener❤
Fab Rats has the best fans. That was some serious gifts to a well deserved family and crew. Something else, I think shop Kat looks like it’s part bobcat.
Can’t say I’m excited about the jeepster itself but am exited for a new build, I’d like to see them do a scout
Good decision on the Jeepster, especially since you are usually pressed for time. Excited to see the build
Ain't falling for it.lucy snatching the football from Charlie brown moment

I remember the days of waiting all week to watch trucks on the weekend, this getting fab rats 3 times a week rocks!
Definitely an upgrade with the new Jeepster. Pretty sharp looking ride
I well up with pride when I see you using the RatBack. You guys DID that! 🎉
Good clean channel.
It’s really nice to see you guys be able to get nice things from your channel growing. 🙏🏼
Ikr. This and VGG are the most family oriented clean auto channels out there. Not only that but they do cooler stuff then the rest and they do it in a way that a normal guy can see himself being able to achieve the same things.
@ VGG is number one by far imo. Love his long uploads and the best dry sense of humor haha.
@wasntme3651 I love VGG but there two different types of content so in my opinion they're both #1 in there content range, even though they're both auto channels. Derrick doesn't fab much really but he does keep the cool old stuff going and Paul doesn't revive, he makes old stuff as cool as it should have been in the first place.
I believe that E locker is easier and batter than Air locker.
Nice steering rod improvements 👍
Man Paul I love the old ratback that thing is cool.
Goood light! Thanks Coop.🎉
Blanket is cool-make sure u put a dryer sheet in bag to keep it from getting funky smelling-mind you its pretty dry down there ( im in BC Canada) where it rains 6 months outta the year! Cant wait to see finished jeepster!
27:58 I LOVE this song that’s playing through the time lapse
Busy, busy, busy!! You guys are always doing stuff!! LOL!! That's why we love watching. We just never know what project we'll be seeing. Anxious to see how the "new" Jeepster project will go.
Grandma be giving y'all roadkill. LOL 😂
That's why she's always giggling when she brings them food lol. She's so great.
Hey Paul, I figured out years ago to build serviceability into my projects and for the most part I never needed it but, there were a few times that made it so easy Henry Ford would have been proud of me, Grandpa was and he was a Ford dealer and Master mechanic back in the day. Now I have 7 grand kids and one is a girl. Ages 23 to 7. Great call on the Jeepster 2.0
The shop i work in is restoring a 67 jeepster. The body has required alot of fab on the body tub. Most parts have been custom fabbed because of quality and availability issues
A solid core will be money well spent
Man you had me worried at first I was like NO! You have to finish the jeepster! . I think the new path that you picked is a sound one and we should see some fast improvement from here. 👍
I have a memory blanket/quilt made from my granddad's bibs and shirts, my dad's work shirts, favorite neighbors and friends jeans or shirts and finally work shirts from my past jobs. It always makes me smile, when I remember them, glad you found that blanket and the memories it will bring.
It’s a good day when Grandma is in it
I love my 1971 jeepster mine still drives i put 200,000 miles on it myself it has over 300000 miles on it it won't die
1971 back when jeep was still a quality brand. around here they rust out too quick though unless you keep it as a garage queen.
I started watching when you were fixing the Taco the first time. Glad to see it ready to hit the trails again.
Thank you guys
My mom kept a quilt she made in her car for emergency use. When she passed I took it and it has been in all my vehicles. Even been used a few times on road trips by kids for comfort while sleeping.
Going to go from Heepster to Jeepster!! Can't wait.
It's absolutely awesome, and any video with Michelle and Grandma is an A+!
That's awesome the Tacoma is getting dialed in. Many vehicles with clock springs will break the clock spring if you turn the wheel one way too much with the steering taken apart it's a common thing on custom builds when the steering wheel spins freely during the build. It's only capable of spinning each direction so far. Not always the reason of course but I've seen it happen often when I ask people before I replace one they say it was apart and stuff and when it went back to hit had the problem. So when you take it apart it's actually important to keep track of the steer wheel position on some vehicles.
Should get a vacuum storage bag for that blanket, it'll help keep mice out a but more, make it easier to store, and can still undo it if you need it. Plus they're like $3 at harbor freight
Hey Paul Michelle and crew I appoligise for not commenting last few months I really do love your content and family business, the donor jeepster looks like a great platform for Michelle to have a fun functional rig, Taco lives again great video thanks for sharing God bless ❤️😀👍
Add a few dryer sheets to that blanket bag. Mice hate dryer sheets. Learned that trick from a wonderful older lady.
I can't believe there's only 3 of us asking for the Jeepster to be worked on. Anyway, thanks for getting around to it Paul.
Nope just three of you. Pretty sure I've sent you some choice words before. Glad to see you fill your craw.
That blanket is realllly cool! It has the Grandpa Sherm nostalgia.
My mother had one; think it was a '66 or '67 model. Great memories of it. I was hauled around in it as a kid. Always a southern no snow car.
6:03 you can tell, this is the most treasured gift ever
For the 3 (THREE) people who had to comment on EVERY video about the jeepster... Why didn't yall drop your lives, fly to Utah, and work on it yourself????
Comments are gold, regardless of what they say! When people stop commenting, that’s when he has a problem!
Then you'd be moaning about migrant workers.
I remember wheeln in a Jeepster when I was little, early 70s was my dad's friend Frank. Had a soft top with the roll up sides to keep us out of the Sun. They took it through some crazy trails in Colorado long before lift kits and big tires
I think that is the best option just like The Golden Nugget. Good choice Michelle and Paul. I'm glad Michelle will finally get her Jeepster
There are so many things that you guys do it is hard to say which one I like best! I enjoy hearing you optimistically state that this project is "DONE" ! Lol I do not fabricate near as much as you, but when you're working on custom things.... They seldom ever are completely finished. It always seems as though you can improve on this one tiny area if I just change, fill in the blank...!
All in all your channel is by and large my favorite.
I saw the video about the homemade quilt that you put in a garbage bag to store. I use the zipper package that sheet sets or blanks come in to store special blankets in. They work really well. Just thought I would suggest it.
That Jeepster is definitely more complete and less rusty and will make the rebuilding job a lot easier, I t is a great choice and a change of plan for the better.
I am glad that you got the new Jeepster body
I’m ready for you guys to do something that’s really beautiful and special… make it complete and the envy of everyone!
What happened to working on the jeepster?
@@sharisanders7368OMG he had to make room in the shop and finish loose ends. Dang you people are never happy.
That's the FJ45. It's ugly paint is beautiful and there's not a real man alive that wouldn't want it. And on top of that it's one of the most capable crawlers on the planet.
So in other words it took Paul so long to get to the jeepster that it rotted 😂😂😂😂
Ehhh I hope that's not your best joke. Sub-par low blow with no truth. I know you are only kidding, I just gotta have Paul's back.
@@stevenpierre1987 yall are to serious. cry some more
That new Jeepster does look much better. Looking forward to seeing what you are going to do to it.
I say you made the right decision on trying to find one with a better body/ less rust on it! Only reason why you should have to keep something like that it's because it's extremely rare and can be worth lots of money! It is much easier to do what you did!!!
Now time to secretly supercharge the GMC !!!!!!
That jeep is WAAAAY to shiny for a FabRat vehicle:)
It’s in Fabrat style sema condition….
@@HazzyMENot hardly! Paul can drive his vehicles to SEMA. Most SEMA vehicles can't drive at all. Don't be a hater dude! I'll put your face in the dirt.
I didn't think about that! I think the golden nugget is the only painted vehicle he's ever done major work too on the channel. Even the taco is scratched up. It's only because it's for Michelle. If he wanted it he'd of just dealt with the rusty one.
I like that the jeepers look like the staff cars the Germans used in WWII . I am a big fan of those old square , boxy vehicles of that Era.
It's kinda like those old VW Things.
that blanket was emotional 4 me !!! cuz we carried blankets.
ours was ww2 wool blankets ! canvas water bags that we hung in front of the radiator cuz ya never know when ya might break down. in the S.W desert it can drop to freezing cold at night.
i still carry a blanket n h2o. Autos have betteer insulation than 50+ years ago 😊
It about time, glad to see it in the shop
Cool to see work beginning again on the Jeepster. Starting with a better body makes total sense. Fixing the steering on the Tacoma will make driving it so much nicer. Like seeing all the different projects coming together.
I like that you are going to use the second Jeepster body. I still think that the Rat back is the coolest build ever done on the channel though.
The Rat back is cool looking for sure but really it's just a tool. To me the FJ45 is the coolest "go have fun" rig ever made ever...by anyone. The tow truck is so fucking badass too. Yeah that's kind of a tough choice when you're talking about a guy that only builds the coolest stuff.
Use a piece of pool noodle for sound deadening
I love the donor! I can hardly wait to see what you do to it! Catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊
It was SO cool to see you winch that Jeepster up on the ratback, and have extra room!
Im sure Merlin is proud of you taking the ratback, and not the cushy tow pig and trailer.
FRs, glad you decided to skip the body rebuild on the Jeepster! Pass that one to someone with extra time and a few sheets of 16 + 18 gauge to have a go at it! The one you picked up really looks clean and straight! The Ratback proves itself! The TACO lives again! Great Video!
That's amazing they gave you guys that flag. God bless America and the dogs that fight for us! Hope you guys fly that flag high and proud at your shop.
Maybe in the shop, in a case. It'd be a shame for it to get weathered.
Man i had unexpected tears on that one, and im Canadian lol!
They made a half cab for the Commando. I finished (in 1991) installing a Buick 350, with a TH400, Dana 20, and a front D30. 1991 33's were considered big. I got 32x11.5. Lifted the Jeep 3 inches (shackle), cut out the rear fenders matching the original line. Like this one.
Agree with choices! Remember to rescue the bottle opener from the old body! Hope you go 'fancy' on the roll cage. Hope you can build a rig for Gracie, too!
That rollback is awesome - born the same year I was. By the way, I love the patriotic references to the military. I served 4 tours and came back in worse shape than the original jeepster.
Like the new plan for the Jeepster. The orange one was just really rough.
Hunting rigg back in play. The jeepster back in play even better
To bad hunting season has come and gone. At least I suppose it's over out that way. Definitely only squirrel/rabbit season on the east coast.
