      Some studies say that women should not be IF for longer than 14 hours due to difference of hormones to males. Also should not be IF during menstruation

      I watched literally every video about it. How about snacks? On the one hand people eat super healthy, on the other hand they say you shouldn't miss calories to make sure you won't have the jojo effect. So for me 2 meals are ok on some days. On other days I need snacks in between.

    How I got started with IF is seeing which type was best for me! I wrote down what I would eat and I also made sure to drink a gallon of water! 70 lbs down in my weight loss journey!

      How long have you been doing it? I drink a gallon a day, workout 6 days a week(Hip Hop Abs), and also count calories. Ive been doing 16/8 since April 25, 2020 and I’ve lost 7.4 pounds.

    Every body is different. I started out doing 16 hr fasts eating only 3 meals a day, but it was just too much. Then I morphed to 2 meals a day and that was not enough. Now I've evolved to 2 meals with a snack in the middle of day (like nuts and fruit) and that seems to be the sweet spot for my body.

      I'm the same, 3 meals was way too much and I felt stuffed. 2 meals and a low carb snack is the ticket for me!

    As someone whos been doing this for about 5 days, eating only in an 8 hour window each day, i can agree. I feel way more energized and its really... changing my depression. I used to wake up annoyed but lately its been waking up and "wow, im ready to start my day."

      Try drinking water. If you drink a cup of water and wait like 15 you’ll see if you’re actually hungry or you’re just bored and the water helps keep you hydrated. You can also drink tea or coffee.

    I have started IF, I am doing the 16 hr fasting, I start my fast around 7 pm and end it at 11am, I plan on going up on the time of fasting as soon as I am used to doing it. My husband and I cook healthy meals that we have delivered through everyplace, we have found that with the portion of fresh foods that we are cooking, we have more energy. I am currently 220 lbs and am excited to get this going! Wish me luck, will update on how it's going

      @@graciegutierrez6702 so far I have lost total of about 15 lbs in an amount of weeks. I started a new job which rly thru off IF, so the last about 2 weeks I haven’t been doing it. But in a short amount of time I lost 15 lbs. I’m on a regular schedule now so I’m going to get back on schedule. It rly helped me to do keto and IF which is reason why I lost so much so fast. DEF recommend. I

    Hi! While intermittent fasting was sustainable for me in the beginning, after 4 years of it my cycle vanished and my hair fell out. I now fast on alternating days and my cycle is back, energy is up and my hair is growing back. Blessings and thank you for this video!

      This happened to me too and I’m still struggling with my cycle and attempting to get pregnant! Not doubt that IF was amazing for my heath - inflammation, digestion, energy. I loved it. I might try every other day!

      Finally someone said it!! I tried and lost my period then I got it twice in one month and my doctor said it’s not good for child bearing women.

      Yes ladies she is telling all medical facts I’m a nurse practitioner who started intermittent fasting to lower my cholesterol which was not too bad but I didn’t want to get on any medications (love icecream) so I stop icecream dropped from 145 pounds to 120 in 3 months..I was 44 and it made me go into early menopause I had to start Nutrafol to help my hair to grow back within past 1 year and Nutrafol is very expensive so be careful ladies

    IF has changed my life . Been overweight all my life being only 5 foot tall has not helped.
    Eating crap or too much carb, sugar will make me bloated , tired , and very very hungry all the time , I used to finish lunch and think about my next snack .
    I started to IF as the last resource since staying on diet will not last more than 2 weeks and always end with a massive binging session that will last days .
    Lost weight l, feel less tired, my constant hunger is gone .My mind is clear and that sensation of bloating , and fatigue is gone .

    I have seen this today & thank God it comes as a confirmation to what I had started.
    I'm 48yrs & I live in Saudi Arabia & I indulge so much & especially during the month of Ramadan by eating lots of sugary & wheat products & by the end of one month my clothes weren't fitting.
    Its now two weeks doing IF but mine is a bit different coz I take 2 meals (heavy breakfast at 7:40 am & I don't eat until 6:30 in the evening) & that's all.
    Thank you!
    I hv improved & looking forward to make it my lifestyle.

    I’ve done it for a week, lost 4lbs 😉 love seeing and touching my waist. I feel great! I eat from 12-7pm
    It’s weird but I do feel energy. I drink more water too. The only thing I feel like I did different now is that I don’t eat breakfast, no biggy. Also I appreciate food now and savor it. I’m also getting full faster from my afternoon protein shake. Good luck peeps that want to try it!

    In my 2nd week. Down 11lbs in 8 days. Was up 4 (water weight) next day and been down 2 from that last few days. I usually do 20-22hrs with a couple 24hrs. Working up to a 36hr

    I have been doing this for two weeks and my fbs are down 60mg. My eating is not perfect, but I keep trying to improve. The medicine alone was not helping. Now if I can get motivated to actual start exercising. I'm a work in progress.

    Thank you, Lacey! I had never heard the term intermittent fasting until I saw your previous videos on how it has worked for you. Since then, I have played around with windows and what to eat at what time during my eating window. My eating window is 11am to 5pm and I eat my fruits first and increase my proteins towards the end of the window to help me get through the fasting portion. So far, it's working great and I'm down 32 pounds since I started. I can't tell you enough how much your channel has helped me to get more in charge of my lifestyle habits...and see the results!! 🤗💜

      @@laceybaier_ Thanks, Lacey. Yes, I'm ecstatic about my results so far! I guess a question I would have for you about intermittent fasting is how have you dealt with plateaus? They do come eventually for many of us, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose. But how do we address them to make sure we don't feel frustrated and give up?

      Plateaus are def annoying, and can cause you to feel like something is wrong. If it lasts longer than 2 weeks, I’d consider the potential causes...should you recalculate your macros? Are you weight lifting and gaining muscle even though you’re also losing fat? Are you eating the wrong foods? Etc. There’s usually a good reason for why plateaus happen and they never last forever ❤️

    I just started trying to "clean" eat to reduce inflammation in my body and help my lower back pain. I'm not interested in losing weight. I'd like to know if it's healthy to intermittent fast every day or should we take a break? Thanks for all your videos! I've been binge watching them and have learned a lot 😊

      I would highly recommend watching Sten Ekberg videos on inflammation and clean eating and IF. He does an amazing job in breaking down why your body is out of balance and is a great source of information on how to get it back in balance.

    For the last two weeks I've started eating once a day, I usually eat at 6pm, I use the air fryer so it's not friend, I have salad with salmon or chicken I've lost 9lbs, also my energy levels are brilliant, I clean for a living and sometimes do 10 hours in a day and I fly through them no problem, I've noticed the first 2 days I was really hungry but then I've been fine since, also mu plate is not piled up because my stomach has shrunk

    I started doing it since 3 weeks i only do it 5 days a week i have cheat day on sunday eat one dessert that i crave. i still eat a small quantity rice for my lunch. No sugar no fried things. More protien vegetables and nuts. Atleast 2 litres of water. I do cardio combined weight training and strengthening exercise while i am fasting for atleast 40 minutes and try to achieve 10000 steps a day walking for exercise purpose only. It works if you are dedicated now that i have seen results no smell tempts me. I read about diets make my food healthy but tasty and keep myself busy in the mornings so i dont remember i am hungry. I take vitamins calcium and hair supplement so i am not lacking in anything. This had become a lifestyle than a diet.

I haven’t read it yet, but she also has lots of good content on her channel to watch on the topic you’re inquiring on.

    Hi Lacey, new to your page and on day one of my 20:4 fasting lifestyle
    Still figuring everything out for myself, I heard that it’s better to fast only 3-5 days a week so I decided to stick to 4. I’m not sure if you fast everyday, but on the days you’re not fasting, what is that usually supposed to look like??

    my experience breastfeeding and fasting:
    i've been doing IF since February and have lost 65 lbs (my baby will be 1 Saturday). My milk supply has actually increased because i'm drinking tons more water and tea since i cut out sugary drinks. I did a week of 18/6 then moved to OMAD (i guess it's more like 22/2 because i break my fast with cold brew black coffee and a banana with nut butter before my actual meal) . I did notice a decrease when I tried doing ADF so I moved back to OMAD. I try to eat as high protein as possible but still definitely eat carbs (i've been a vegetarian for about 14 years and i'm just not willing to cut ties with carbs) so i'm not sure how it would effect my supply if i was also doing keto or a similar diet as well.

    What about people who struggle with low blood sugar? When I tried IF I felt like my body clung to weight and it never went down. I didn't see energy increase and lifting took a dive. After I started eating breakfast again before a workout it actually helped me get stronger. I'm conflicted with IF

      I’ve read it *can take 1-2 months for your body to adapt and burn fat efficiently . This is a test of patience as well- hang in there ! One week is waaay too soon, that would be water loss anyways. Patience, grasshoppah. 🤣💪🏻

    Lacey isn't important to eat when you get up? I thought it helps quicken your metabolism if you eat right away? Also what time should fasting start in the evening? How many hours should fasting be?

    I've done the 16:8 for a month now and haven't lost an ounce. I'm clearly eating the wrong things or too much during the 8 hours. I need to know what to eat. I do eat pretty 'clean' but am not losing anything. Maybe it doesn't work after the age of 60?? I only have about 6 or 7 lbs. to lose.

    Hi hun. I am reaching out for help. I have been sick now since October of 2021. In December I worked 3 shifts and then got Covid in January 2022. I am currently sick March 14/22. I have no idea what is going on with my system but I can’t seem to get my health on track. I am currently 178lbs and have not weighed this since I was pregnant 31 years ago. I’m 5’2” and very uncomfortable. I am reaching out for help on how to get started as anything from here has not helped me. I want my life back. I have watched many videos on ITF and feel this could be what my body is telling me to do. Thank you 🙏🏻

    Ιf you exercise while doing fast, you can get the protein powder or you can't because it has calories?

      Im starting but i drink gallon of water, tea and healthy foods but i dont where to start eating. Morning 8 hours later lunch then do not eat im also on herbalife.

      dont eat too much u full the stomic and thats wrong u should just eat when u feel u stoped the hunger and remain the left space for air and water ways to help u with that 1)drink water before eating2) sit uncomfortable you can also use small plates all that helps u to not eat too much that your body dont need

    I’m confused on IF. Isn’t 16/8 just eating like a normal day? Eating breakfast at 9am, lunch at 1pm, and dinner at 5pm then not eating until 9am the next day. This doesn’t seem like fasting.

    I am on my second time arround. First time I just gave up. I have cronic pain so my go to stress reliever was food.
    Now I am doing just a 14 hour fast. Most people only count after 16h but I don't care.
    It helps because I am on a 1400kcal diet and this helps if I skip breakfast. I have one problem though... I have alwaus felt nauseous if I drink plain water. So I get dehidrated often. And lemon and vinegar do not help.
    That is the hardest for me

      Izzie F You got this...😁 I’m also just starting the fasting lifestyle. I started with 12:12 then each week I add an hour to my fasting window. So now I’m on 14:10. Baby steps are ok. Just keep the forward momentum and keep plugging away at it.

      add honey in your lemon and apple cider vinegar, drink in the morning if you not breakfast it will make your stomach full

      Try drinking ginger tea. I make it from 1 teaspoon of ground ginger to 1 litre of water. I add a teaspoon of honey as well. It's great!

    Idk if someone already asked this, but could you site the peer-reviewed science behind this? Especially your claims about women and their cycles? My friend is doing this diet and I’m curious to know more. Couldn’t find concrete science that wasn’t debated when I looked so your resources would be helpful!

    I've been doing IF for about a year and love(d) it but recently read about how it can be not so good for women as it messes up our hormones - which is something I have been trying to avoid. I feel so confused there is always so much conflicting information around nutrition :(

    Good morning! For fasting, does it matter if you fast different hours every day? Is that good for weight/fat loss? Sometimes I do 16:8, 17.5:6.5, 18:4, 21:3.

    Very inspirational to see this busy mom be the boss in her life. I have just started IF and I'm doing a 14 or 15 hour fast for now. I was afraid to work out too hard in the morning while still fasting but Lacey just blew that argument out of the water. No excuses for me now. Great info too.

      If you currently eat three meals a day plus snacks cut out the snacks first. Then when you are ready drop one meal like dinner. Then drop lunch or breakfast.

    For breastfeeding women, try a 12 hour window but pay attention to what you’re eating and how often. So eat three meals but make sure they are nutrient dense so you don’t feel the need to snack. Whole, real foods, making sure you have plenty of fats and a lower amount of simple carbs like pasta, bread, and sweets. Once you’ve weened, consider an 8 hour eating window with two nutrient dense meals a day. It’s doable.

    Hey.. It is indeed motivational, this my 2nd day and I'm following the 16:8 Hours ratio.. I have few questions.. 1. Does IF can affect my periods? 2. What snack can I take the period when I am taking food?

      It definately can. The best day is towards the start of your period up to about day 14 to fast... you can always tweak everything to whatever works for you.

    I’ve asked many people but nobody has answered yet. 🙁 my mum is insulin resistant now she’s 86 and we’re thinking about an intermittent fasting diet for her because of her blood pressure etc it would do her a lot of good. I’m already fasting intermittently. Will this be ok for her age in general? I have suggested she starts fasting for 10 hours initially. I’m 16/8

    I'm doing alternate day fasting and it's been super beneficial for me. I do have one question about what will break a fast. Sometimes when I get so hungry on fasting days that I will eat a pickle spear to help get me through. Pickles have almost no calories but does it break the fast?

      Try acv water. It might help curve hunger for a bit. And it's 0cals

      The pickle may spike ur insulin but not by much so technically it will break your fast but not for long and after say 40mins or so your insulin will come back down and you'll enter your fast again.

    I don’t know if there is a name for what I’m doing. I only eat from noon to one pm and six to seven. I do find I still want a snack around 3 pm. I’m also doing the metabolic confusion method of eating low calories on two days followed by higher calories on the third. This is supposed to keep your metabolism from resetting to the lower level and plateau. Have you done this as well?

    I been doing it for one week I do pretty good but I need help with what I choose to eat after I fast. I decided to do this because I ended up in the hospital from stomach problems I been seeing a gastroenterologist and I had several exams done and they don’t know what the problem is, so I decided to do this to gime my stomach a break, I can’t eat salads because they kill my stomach and I will be back in the hospital so my problem is eating after I am done fasting
    I have to do some research and work out
    I am currently waiting for my peloton to be delivered I don’t do well at Gyms .

    Lacey, I started IF thru Plexus since February; however, I stopped because I was getting ready for Total Hip Replacement surgery in which happened 9 days ago. I need to find out how to go from A to Z in IF.     How do you do this fast when you have Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome?
    Hunger attacks me when i find it hard to sleep early. Also, does it work if you generally have bad sleep quality?
    I am generally tired when i wake up. And since i tend to wake in the afternoon, i figured Intermittent fasting would work but i don't see much happening... I guess I'm not eating well but basically...bad sleep + intermittent fast.. Good or bad?

    Iam 56 now and I eat when watching videos I don't eat sugar very little salt I like fish salads I must say that green tea mix with a spoon of apple vinager cider helps with ginger I love lentils chicken and white eggs my problems is toxic environment abuse from family members then I binge a lot so to me when I am. Away from my toxic family I lose weight thanks darling iam going to stick to your diet

    food flavours spike insulin and cause you to get hungry, I wouldn't recommend drinking anything flavoured, especially when trying to lose weight, you're going to want to do a clean fast.
