- Ultraman Mebius (ウルトラマンメビウス Urutoraman Mebiusu) is the 20th entry in the Ultra series. Made to celebrate the franchise's 40th anniversary, it brings back heroes and monsters from the Showa-era of the series in a brand new story set in the original timeline.
Much like its predecessors, it's quite strange.

Mebius: Goes through character development, impresses and teaches his superiors, gains new forms because of this, is genuinely a nice guy to be with, clearly flawed and learns from it, defeats the f*cking dark emperor god that terrorized his world many years ago effortlessly at the end and needed help even there, doesn't have a mantle
Zero: A Gary Stu, obnoxiously hip, goes through some lazily rushed development, one shots like, 30 monsters and the dark villain that terrorized his world that he barely knows with no help, didn't even get the idea that Seven was his own father, barely impressed his superiors much, listed as the main protagonist of the movie despite playing his part in the last 3rd of the movie, has his own special mantle and inspired the generation after him.

There have been many anniversary series from all different types of franchises but I will always say that Ultraman Mebius is the best anniversary series ever made.

I feel like most of this stuff is actually meant to be silly/funny. Mebius definitely had a balance between serious and goofy i really appreciate.
