big electric motor 3000 kW - startup test sound

  • We present a typical 3000 kW motor start in our test field. You can see and hear how such a big motor starts. The accelerating takes about 90 seconds from 0 to 993 min-1. This is the maximum speed that a 6-pole slip ring motor of this size can achieve.
    Enjoy the big motor starting sound!
    The video shows a three-phase asynchronous motor with slip ring rotor with a nominal voltage of 10500 V and a power output of 3000 kW. It features a shaft height of 630 and a total weight of approx. 13.5 tons (including cooling system) - a typical motor size of our day-to-day business.
    Electric motors of this type and size are used, for example, as main drives in cement mills or as compressor or fan motors. Slip ring motors are the motors of choice whenever high starting torque or low starting current are required. They are especially suitable for heavy load inertia applications.

      Thank you for your attention. The 3500 Volts is the single line voltage, the main voltage is 6000 Volts. Full load current is 380 Amps, the 30 Amps is the no load current.

      @@MenzelMotors, I find it strange that running it without load would consume that much power. Does it really require nearly 300 kW worth of cooling in that situation? I assume all that power gets turned into heat. I could run that for two and a half minutes to heat my apartment for a day.

    • @adev8565
      @adev8565 3 роки тому +2

      @@seriouscat2231 I'd assume that the currents are the apparent currents, not the real currents. Hence, a portion of that current isn't doing actual work but is merely being circulated (= reactive current). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_power#Power_factor may be of help to understand.

    • @seriouscat2231
      @seriouscat2231 3 роки тому +1

      Reactive current is wasted somewhere eventually. So you are suggesting that that is not the actual power it draws, but only something that goes back and forth between (capacitors in) the controller and (coils in) the motor?

    If that would not be perfectly balanced that axle would break through the metal casing like nothing and then hit and kill everything in its path! The level of engineering and precision is absolutely staggering! And in this case you really need every component to work perfectly round the clock.

    • @MenzelMotors
      @MenzelMotors  4 роки тому +2

      This is a slip ring motor, so the stator is just switched direct on-line and the rotor is started up by a resistor starter. But you can also start this and larger motor sizes direct on line - you just need the proper grid! These grid calculations and voltage drop calculations we offer for our customers to ensure the best suitable solution.

      Das hat ein russischer UA-camr gemacht. Ein Brushless Motor, der für große Quadrokopter verwendet wird, hat er am Rahmen befestigt mit ner Kette als Übersetzung. Dazu ein passenden Motorregler, weil brushless Motoren drehen sich nicht, wenn man direkt Gleichspannung auf die Motorklemmen gibt. Brushless Motoren brauchen elektronisch erzeugte dreiphasige Wechselspannung, damit sie sich drehen. Und das macht eben ein Brushless Motor Regler. Wäre auch zu umständlich, mit dem Akku mehrere hundert mal in der Sekunde die Polarität an den Anschlüssen zu wechseln. Im Regler geschieht das über MOSFET, die sich gegenseitig abwechselnd ein- und ausschalten.
      Zum Geschwindigkeit regeln nimmt er ein Servotester aus dem Modellbau und als Stromversorgung Lipo Akkus.
      Kein Witz, der hat das Fahrrad bei ebener und gerader Strecke auf 100kmh gebracht.
      Das war allerdings nicht das einzige Projekt, was er gemacht hat, in sein BMW hat er mal ein Motor aus einem Hubschrauber eingebaut und den Wagen tatsächlich fahren lassen, das Fahrrad hat als Antrieb schon mal den Elektromotor mit nem 40 Zoll Carbon Propeller oder ein Miniatur Triebwerk aus dem Modellbau gehabt. Hier in Deutschland ist sowas wohl keineswegs erlaubt. Aber das ist Russland, da schert sich keiner rum, wenn man an sein Fahrrad ein Flugzeugtriebwerk hat und in seiner Tasche ein Kanister mit Kerosin.
