Hi everybody! We're thrilled to announce that "Elfquest - the Final Quest" has, indeed, begun production. Through an exclusive arrangement with the popular online news service Boing Boing, a new page goes up on their site every Monday then transfers over to the digital comics section at elfquest.com. "Elfquest - the Final Quest" WILL definitely appear in print form down the line.
Richard Pini Really? I don't think so. I've been a fan since 1981. I did buy the first Elfquest Gatherum and I certainly was stunned to discover within those pages, indeed, Nelvana Studios did have the chance to lend their distinctive style and adapt your story and go pass beyond Disney Studios in this genre and style based on their decade of work but their arrogance and egomaniac attitudes ( three Canadian guys ) wrecked that potential evidence by their first and only theatrical attempt, Rock N Rule, which failed in the box office and they ended up working for CareBears. Hard fall like Icarus.
I would prefer that Elfquest be done here in the USA , traditional hand drawn animation not by any existing franchise but by independent sources.
shame the animated film never came off
Grew up with EQ starting with the original oversize b&w self-published issues.

@edr777 that's Windkin, and he hasn't been flesh-shaped. If you look closely, it appears that he has made "wings" using what appears to be sticks, rope, and leather. You can see the ropes where he has attached the wings to his wrists and forearms. Looks like Ember will be captured by humans, but there's no way to tell if it is the Djun's son. And that is Venka, not Dodia. FutureQuest and Rogues Curse have already been confirmed as canon by Wendy and Richard. Cheers.
Oh my, I think my heart skipped a beat once or twice while watching this--I cannot wait to see what this latest (and maybe last ) saga will unveil. All I can say is I am extremely excited! I also loved the music used in this trailer, it set the tone beautifully.

@ceruleanblue777 i think they parted in 2007. i believe thats what the elfquest site said. so that must have been soon after dc published elfquest wave dancers mini series.
Even at the start of this trailer I had CHILLS!!! Seeing those looks on Moonshade and Strongbow's faces....I've still got goosebumps! This looks PRONOMINAL!!!! Absolutely can't wait!

Since this is from Richard we've gotta figger it's 'Kosher,' but as the decades have taught us it's a long twisted trail from the vision to the reality.

Absolutely can not wait!!! I only hope that we will not see to much masque influence on the art style. The img at 1:06 looks brilliant!!! Such lush details and depth. Something that so often lacks in the overly airbrushed digital drawings. Its a look that suits the glossy and glamorous Masque so much but doesnt go with EQ at all. We see a lot of these under-worked panels in Discovery and TSATS.
In any case im sure the final chapter will be epic!! Dear ElfMom please take your time!!!

Man, I think Wendy has outdone herself this time! I've been waiting for this for years! Hmm...but is that Tyldak or Windkin standing there with Dewshine? My guess is Windkin (face and hait and no head crest)...but I wonder why he'd have himself molded like his sire (or did he learn to shape shift?). Looks Ember is captured by the Djunns son (five fingered hand)...and is that Venkda or Dodia lying there with Ekuar. I wonder if Futurequest and Rogues quest will be considered canon? Yippie! :)

I'm an Elfquest fan since 1981. I'm a fan of Japanese animation since the mid 1970s.
Akira, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Neon Genesis Evangelion to name a few super human high standard productions and I would still favor *Elfquest* over them all.
When is that animation ever going to happen????? Even pencil tests would be amazing.
Legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki finally caved in and totally blundered when he decided to go into cg animation with the mediocre Earwig And The Witch.
So, the old adage..."There's a first time for everything".... *still remains true.*
*Pinocchio In Outer Space* I rate very highly and respect the animators and draftsmen tremendously.
Why? BECAUSE THEY DID THEIR OWN IDEAS AND THEIR OWN STYLE.
I doubt this really is Richard Pini but if it is I would like to say I'ld rather see an animated movie about elfquest than a movie with actors... humans are too ugly to play the elves Wendy and Richard created...
