I like that Neil is willing to go on younger podcasts. He's actually a good guest
Idk why people hate him, seems like a cool guy
@@bojanglesthewizard8875 People say they hate him because he pretends to be smart, but 9/10 he is way smarter than that person lol
@@localobug3034 yeah he definitely speaks some stuff he isn't "educated" on but he's still more on point than most people. He makes science fun. He the reason I got into space and black holes and stuff
@@christycullen2355 exactly.
He's smart yes but he constantly interrupts people and it's okay to be smart... it's not okay to carry yourself in a way that suggests you're better than others BECAUSE you're smarter than them.
next guest should be random people that have zero influence on society just to show your range
that’s hilarious i agree
Lmao nah just someone random off the street
It can be me!
Like Bryce hall or something
Um... they do have Indiana on quite often!
Great episode! They were prepared with good questions, they ACTIALLY knew details from the book, and made it so enjoyable. Bravo!
This guest was absolutely fascinating! I didn’t know 90% of what he talked about
@@a.m1003 LMFAO
Pp😊
damn dropouts is getting bigger been here since episode 30 ish and so proud of yall and your growth
Same!!
Came here for Bobby Lee, stayed for their dynamic and quick wit.
Been loving going back through episodes when I have time.
Any suggestions?
@@sugaring3921 I personally really like the 1st, and 28th episode. I also think episode 52 where they play a recap of some of their best and funniest moments is very enjoyable.
This is kinda weird but I only found this podcast because Zach was on a dating show episode or something? I looked him up because of his dry humor and now I found this amazing podcast featuring Neil Degrasse Tyson. I usually don’t find podcasts appealing either but this has been enticing to listen to. Thank you!
they really did a great job all together, so impressed.
Enjoy the rest there's another co-host named indi everyone pretends like she's not annoying but she really is the golden episodes are the one without her
Found this videos the same way
@@AirborneIHwell at least some comment/thing aged well lol
@@randomperson9460what happened?
the collaboration we didn’t know we needed
yesssssssssss
I love how a podcast can change the genre so drastically just depending on the guest (Neil killed it and to answer his question I'm a 17 year old girl in Australia who loves to read and will be adding this mans book to my TBR)
How do these episodes keep getting better and better? I love it! By far the best podcast and the highlight of my week!
26:55 i love how neil talking about self driving cars being the norm in the future was basically just describing adequate public transit
the lengths
Ordered the book within 15 minutes of watching. Love this crossover. Jared making a Harry Potter and Spider-Man reference made me melt.
Did not expect this guest. Love that you’re getting away from the typical UA-cam and TikTok influencers. Good job dropouts
This is hands down one of the BEST podcasts I've seen Neil DeGrasse on!! And he's AWESOME on all the podcasts he's on. Guys this was AWESOME!! 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
The only one I've fully watched with him on to be honest lol
Wow.
Neil has always been one of my favorite scientists
I’m not done with the episode but here’s some of the quotes I’ve written down:
“ I claim that if the knowledge of death gives me meaning to life, than to live forever is to live a life without meaning it all” -, 36:27
“When you give flowers to a loved one….they’re almost always appreciated… and you snip the bottoms and you monitor them throughout the week…. OK they might last week, right through their senescence as the bulb drips down and then there’s no point. You have to discard them. Your loved one could’ve brought you plastic flowers, or even silk flowers but if you receive them I’m betting that they would mean less to you than if they were fresh flowers…. fake flowers require no care and feeding, they don’t have a smell, they live forever yet curiously deliver hardly any pleasure to you.” -, 36:47
“You dont want to regret not said things in life that you thought only in death” - , 46:17
“To hold on to the past might restrict you from continuing to enter the future which is unfolding in front of you every moment of your life. Consider that at will we have full mobility in space but not in time. We are prisoners of the present, forever transitioning from our inaccessible past to our unknowable future.” -, 47:00
FRR SO MANY GREAT QUOTES! LITERALLY GONNA GET THE BOOK, THIS WAS AMAZING!! ✨
Awww that scenario of the dog living one day is equal to a week for us literally had me tearing up and I can’t wait to see my dogs when I get home
My bestfriend is a masters student in astrophysics. I was fan-girling for her watching this. I wish I could get her a signed book from him! 🤗 you guys do AMAZING at these podcasts with people of different niches. My fave podcast ever ❤️
"What punk rock band are you from sir" quote of the century by Zach to Neil DeGrasse Tyson of all people lmaooo
Neil ignoring every joke about his ex is so funny 😂
1:10:09 He left the homie hanging. Felt that 😂
Only found out about Dropouts a couple of weeks ago and now looking at older episodes. Glad I found this one.
This is one of the best interviews I’ve seen with him, great job! It’s clear that y’all did your homework
The fact that Neil reads for his own audio books is why I always buy the audio version along with the physical book.
This was such an interesting episode!! I’ve always known of Neil but never of his ideas so I loved this
One of the best episodes 💕 There’s so much energy!
I thought this was clickbait…WOW PROUD OF YOU GUYS!
Me too! Haha 😆
I’m so late to watch this but that was so good! Neil is good at explaining his thoughts that you just get hooked to it. And you guys are amazing hosts, he’s right you guys did a lot more than most do. I love how I came here because I watched a UA-cam short of you two playing the game where you try to say the same word, and now I’m listening to Neil deGrasse Tyson’s views on the future of technology.
One of my favorite podcasts yet.. very insightful.
This is exactly what I needed to listen to today
This was a guest I ABSOLUTELY never saw coming, but I am so so ecstatic that it happened 🖤 I definitely want more curveball guests. also Brittany Broski and Sarah Schauer- I'd loveee to see Sarah and Zack interact and their banter 😂
Bro this is the first time I’ve listened to an entire podcast… mr. Neil is truly great at explaining things, and I enjoy the podcast hosts little jabs and their questions r interesting.
around 1:06:00 when they're talking about sliding doors, it reminds me of how far ahead people like the ancient romans/greeks were. Shopkeepers in Pompeii developed sliding doors, being that the shops were small, and having a door open into the shop or out into the walkways/roads was a waste of space. the sliding doors made it to where they didnt have to sacrifice space to open and close doors
This was my favourite episode to date. Thank you!
First pod with Neil I've been able to fully sit through lol props
I love all these episodes, but this is by far the Best episode! Just I always learn so much from Neil and just him talking brings back good memories from my childhood
This is legit my favorite episode
He was right about exponential growth and linear growth thinking. Because I recall the memes when iphone got 2 and 3 cameras people just made memes with iphones with 6 or 7 cameras or even more than that instead of making the cameras bigger, which actually happened. That shows we think linearly.
I was rewatching this and one of my favorite examples of exponential growth in technology is video games they started out as little bits on a screen but now some are so good they look real and in 20 years we might not be able to tell reality and video games apart
Neil talking with a completely straight face about the plot of Sharknado 6 was something I didn't know I needed in my life and now I won't survive without that clip now living rent free in my head 😂
After listening to this podcast I bought the Audiobook version of Mr/Dr Neil deGrasse Tyson and I can’t wait to listen to the book especially with that velvety voice! Great show y’all 😊
I only got my dog's paw print tattooed on my hand in May of this year, almost exactly to the hour on the 1 year mark since I had to put him down after treatment of his cancer was unsuccessful and it got worse. He was only 9. Why you gotta make me feel these feelings again, Neil? Like, I appreciate you putting it into a better perspective, but damn man, I didn't need to cry today.
Edit: After finishing the episode, absolutely fantastic episode, guys. Seriously. 💚
Man Zach definitely did his part on filling up Chuck's part on the comdey aspect!
The fact that this is cut in so few places makes it feel very natural.
Or maybe that is just podcasts in general 🤔
I did not know anything about you until today. So far I have seen a couple vids including this podcast and let me tell you that the most impressive thing that I've noticed about you is the next level of true confidence. That makes you a very interesting guy these days...
The past two weeks their episodes haven’t shown up in my feed. I keep having to manually search for them! :(
Love the podcast keep it up guys been here since ep 1….where has Indiana been recently?
best guest so far, the connection is immaculate
You guys are so cool. Love the pod!!!
First time listening, great pod!
Great episode you guys!!!!
been here since day one and im so proud of you all and this episode is absolutely amazing. 💜
A true educator - in even the most trivial of questions he finds a way to impart helpful ways to think
Yall did so good with your questions and put him on such a good path of conversation. Neil is a national treasure in my opinion
I love Neil DeGrasse's intellect, values, and perspective. It's hard to get a dialog with Neil because of his annoying interruptions but then, the substance of what he had to say makes me happy he interrupted. Neil is just a wonderful human being.
What an absolute banger of an episode. I could listen to this man talk all day and actually feel I'm gaining some knowledge
Obsessed with this episode!!!
20:00 I feel like the joke with Toll coming from "troll", besides jareds laugh, is highly overlooked :'D
he trolls with the noun "troll" in the same sentence haha :D
I used to fall asleep listening to him but now i cant sleep when he comes on so its so interesting now that i understand . Tyson is the reason im herer found this channel cause of a short.
he really is an awesome wise man, im so impressed by how much I learnt this episode.
I love this episodes , one of the best💯
I literally picked up my dog and carried her to my room hearing the dog part omg. Such a good podcast. I love it here.
the pod keeps getting better guys. honestly prefer just the two of you!
I underestimated Jared, he’s well informed, pays attention to details and asks good questions 👏👏
Oh no Kenny G! Cmon I love this show and apart of this audience that knows him :D Been here since the beginning and loving it. As a satellite engineer this is my favorite episode.
Great episode, so good, so so good. I also still hold a grudge for what they did to pluto. Part of my bucket list is to go on a popular quiz show just to say 9 if asked for the number of planets.
Like I'd be wrong but I'll have stood for something
they did that on rick and morty once... didnt end well
The man is a national treasure... protect him at all cost.
Neil is such a great guest
Could listen to Neil for hours. So intelligent
Wow amazing podcast. Very unexpected guest but this is definitely my new favourite episode!!
1:01:25 you can try public transportation first, that could help a lot
That was much more fascinating than I thought it was going to be!
great guest. yall vibe well
love Neil, I remember watching his documentaries as a kid. he's awesome
Great episode ! ❤
I could listen to this guy for hours
I absolutely love neil and his wonderful bombastic personality 😊
Great job guys! So proud of you! 👽
My all time favorite episode
I never understand what Neil deGrasse Tyson is talking about when his explaining somethimg
But his voice makes me feel like I understand it
This episode is VERY underrated
Honestly thought the title was clickbait I was pleasantly surprised though!
Great episode!!
12:30 i never stick anything in the socket but i did got shock lot of time when i was little
those who came for the short, 1:14:20
Thank you! This should be higher up I had to dig for this 🤣
Ayo he is soo underrated for his comedy. He is smart funny. Good stuff yall
I'm going to say this now. I liked Joe's podcast cause it was candid people interacting with a specialist. I've been peeping your clips, love it. I'd love to see you and the other personalities interact with people who are professionals in various fields.
What a fantastic episode
I love how Neil can say thank you to a backhanded compliment
Gr8 guest!!! It was cool of Dr. T, not to correct Zach, when he kept calling him, "Mr. Tyson." (Cool, dude!) Good episode guys! 👏
Very impressive podcast!
Awesome episode
So true weather never changes
Neil staying hip with the youngsters!
this was amazing!!!
wow. you know you've made it when you can get Neil DeGrasse Tyson as a guest! well done!
one of my favorite podcasts yall have done please have him back soon with tara
Neil Degrasse Tyson is racking up Podcast appearances like infinity stones
He just changed my view of the movie highlander 🤯. Part of MacLeod's reward at the end of the movie was becoming mortal and I always that it was kind of a shitty ending, but after hundreds of years he finally was given meaning and purpose
This is going to be so good
This man is real treasure
He is so funny, loved this episode
Nice podcast interesting good questions answers neil was logical and humorous
i love this episode!!!
His laugh is contagious ❤
