I really like this scent, especially the pronounced plum note. Btw, over here in Ukraine it's marketed towards men, just like all tom fords are, even black orchard.
It reminds me of a mix between Interlude Man and Jubilation XXV, leaning towards Jubilation. I know Dan also mentioned seeing it having similarities, definitely in the same vein. What are yall's thoughts on this? I like it, I'm a fan of this scent. Tom Ford had layering in mind with his line and does so himself and I personally tried layering it with Tuscan Leather and the raspberry in there really compliments that.
Hey Fragrance Bros. I love all your videos and I frequently do not purchase a scent based upon your reviews. You mentioned that you could not imagine a woman wearing Plum Japonais, but I do. I have received many compliments from both men and women. I am a huge fan of gender neutral scents like By Kilian's Straight to Heaven and Creed's Spice and Wood. This scent is a solid winner for me and its longevity is a bonus. Though I don't always agree with you (Cafe Rose, huge compliments every wear), I appreciate your honest opinions
Tammy Crawley thanks for stopping by! To me, I think PJ runs more masculine, but I can see a woman wearing it. I'm thankful to have viewers like you who appreciate these opinionated reviews and go try the fragrances for yourself. Feel free to let me know what you think of any of the fragrances we review. :)
Hmm. I tried several TF's last week at Saks Fifth, and this was one of them. And I tell you what: this and Champaca Absolute stood out to me. Noir de Noir was okay/nice, but those two were winners. I like PJ. Not sure how much plum I get, but it's a nice fragrance.
I did actually like this one... I sprayed it on a card to keep it for a couple of days, and one of my girlfriends smelt it that night and was like screwing up her face smelling it and said " Why would anyone want to smell like that " so it's not for everyone lol
+FragranceView hahaha! Yeah I can see that. I don't dislike it as much as her. I think it's not that bad. Definitely some interesting things about it! Thanks for stopping by! We should collaborate someday soon! You have a great channel. :) Just email me at Daver@fragrancebros.com if that sounds like something you would want to do. :D
Hope to oneday see you guys do a review, on Dolce & Gabanna - The One. Seeing Daver & Jerr's take on that popular frag, would probably be quite interesting.
By the way, Dave, seriously, same thing happens to me but more around my cheeks -- please invest in coconut oil. It's changed my life. I moisturize with it and it's a complete game changer (also great to edibly consume). Gets rid of redness pretty damn quickly.
Dam you guys are spot! I just got this and Tobac Vani, and still not 100% on this one. I see this as deff a male scent. but not one I would ever advise to buy unless one has a ton of cash to spend just to have. Lets just see what happens when the dry down happens. Like but not a love as of now.
Waiting for my decant to arrive. Im still hoping for the best lol, that is, that something will thrill me as much as TV thrilled me the first i tried it
I've noticed a trend lately of over hyped new releases by popular niche houses (Tom Ford, Mountable) where in reality they are just so-so. This is one and Intense Cafe by Montale is another. They aren't bad, just not the " masterpieces" that some refer to them as. I think maybe we all get so excited when a house we love introduces something new our expectations are so high that we fail to accept the fact that the release is just ok not spectacular.
Always knew Daver's secret job behind the Fragrance Bros gig (just a cover) is a professional mixed martial artist... should have stepped out of the way when Anderson Silva came at you with that front face kick, brah! ;) Haha, awesome stuff as always, Bros. Been away with a minute. I'm back again.
So, guys, if this this scent is 'plum tuckered out' in terms of a plum note, which fragrances do you know of that pump plenty proper plum please? Panks, Pragrance Pros :-)
Great review BROoooooos!! Love watching your vids. I nominate you guys for entertainers of the year for frag comm. I am so on the fence about this one. I like it. Probably going to add to the collection.
Belcam Perfumes has a Gucci Guilty imposter for $10 and it is available at Meijer. So if PJ reminds you of Guilty, this is definitely a pass. The Bros bringing down the hammer.
Underwhelmed by a lot of the Tom Ford private blends lately. You guys hit the nail on the head - NOT Tobacco Vanille. IMO they've been treading water. That's just me though.
Oud Wood is also one of our favorites from TF. We only mentioned it in the context of sales in comparison to TF's really big sellers like Tobacco Vanille and Tuscan Leather
to me smells like a cheap head shop insnece stick. This will look nice in the cabinet. Too many other MUCH better juice out there. Spent TOO much on this one. Just Ok. my two scents. we all like what we like. thanks for all the great vids!!!
This is by far my favorite from all Tom ford line.. What a master pice this is. I just love this to death
Great Namo i agree hehe ;)

Daver, the lady on the Clinique beauty counter can help your skin. It's called the three step routine. Believe me

I really enjoy this frag , one of my fav from Tom ford prive line
albert ferro oh cool. I can see why people would like it, but something about it just didn't gel with me. :-/
Which do you like better...Plum Japonais or By Kilian Single Malt ?
LOL the skin around my nose gets really dry and red and i have to keep on top of it. sometimes i don't and it looks like that. :~)

I love this scent s lot this last and project longer than tobacco vanille on my skin and i have both.
Waiting for my decant to arrive. Im still hoping for the best lol, that is, that something will thrill me as much as TV thrilled me the first i tried it
I really like this one :-)
Love this review of TF plum japonais! Spot on!
I'd never beat down the Daver! Who would edit our videos then? ;)

I love this one so so so much.
What’s your thoughts on Vert d’Ensenc

Rive d'Ambre all day, baby! (from this set of releases anyways).
I agree with the hype on this one. This frag rocks!

Thanks guys!
You said it!! I bough due to the hype.. would not do again!!!
Oud wood mid tier???? Crazy. Oud wood is the biggest compliment getter for me from the private blend collection.
Oud Wood is also one of our favorites from TF. We only mentioned it in the context of sales in comparison to TF's really big sellers like Tobacco Vanille and Tuscan Leather
is that a Tetris shirt???
Awesome take... Keep on being honest Bros... ^_^
can you take a look at tobacco oud
Damn auto correct! I meant Montale not mountable or whatever it put!
Bravo !
Rudolph the red nosed Daver had a really shiny nose.

thanks for all the great vids!!!
HAHA! shouldn't have worn that vanilla scent that day. ;)
Don't you think it smells like bond no9 Andy Warhol?
Sounds like Daver's reaction was...."the FUH???!#%#%"
I think oud wood fragrances are from Arabic fragances
