Some people just refuse to believe someone can be good at what they do. I am a 40 year professional singer and have often been asked by audience members if I'm actually singing or is it a track and I'm lip syncing. Once I literally had to go up to a woman and pull the mike away from my mouth and sing directly at her before she would believe it. KEEP UP THE MAGIC, MICHAEL!
Michael, your show has made my day since the pilot episode! I love your rambling bs explanations to avoid the questions when customers are overly persistent about an explanation....the best part by far! I also love how your responded to this RIDICULOUS accusation... all class, with no room for dispute.

What that might be, I don't know. You can call it God, Allah, Buddha, flying spaghetti monster, etc... All I'm trying to prove is that religion really does a great job at separating people. Which I for sure don't believe in. I believe we should all come together for good/love.

+LaserDroid I agree. If you look closely at the footage that aired, you can see where the rendering on Mike was off. Mike doesn't really exist. He's just a CGI model. Pretty crappy job, too. I'm surprised given how far the technology has come along. Sad. They must have a really low budget.

As a magician for over 34 years I can guarantee what Michael is doing is not fake he's not using actors. The Carbonaro effect is the best magic series on television today and it's the only one I watch. love that guy!
Sean Bogunia Lol! Who pays you to say this? Yes they are actors. I have known people who take acting lessons and they know these "customers" are actors - bad actors but paid to do this show those actors. Go perform in front of a live audience and then I will believe your magic.

Hiring professional actors costs a lot of money. It's way cheaper and more genuine to elicit reactions from real people... Also, I love you Michael!
90% of what he does can't be accomplished via slight of hand, therefore he's using camera cuts. We are better than this people.
It's a little disturbing to know that there are some out there who cannot distinguish the obvious differences between actors acting and genuine human emotion. No actor is that good. Love the show.

this is normal, it's not uncommon for any kind of magician to do video edits or actors apart of their routine, even game shows edit a lot out just to make it fit into the schedule entirely, it's obvious that that is how this is done and it's evident in a lot of the episodes, but purely it's made for entertainment and that's how I view it, it's still fun and exciting to see different reactions even though it's fake, hell I even watch Wrestling, purely entertainment, injuries can happen but the story of course is fixed based on how the company wants things to go, just like any show or soap opera it's merely there for those who wish to want to enjoy it, so that it's there, have fun :3

I have no idea if this show is staged or not but there is something curious about "Kind of Like Seafoam Green" episode. I just happened to see it. He's working at a return desk of a store. A girl comes in with a toy that doesn't make a sound that it is supposed to make. He takes out the batteries and happens to have a battery trick ready for her. That seems pretty convenient. Then a lady comes in with a baby doll that she had purchased for her niece. He just happens to have a baby lying in a crib that he calls his niece. Another trick ensues. Again, very convenient and random.
I just finished watching that episode and was thinking the same thing. In fact, that is how I ended up here, because the sheer improbability of that happening got me thinking it was all staged.
Also the costume store where the costume store had this guys entire outfit with his shoes and shoe laces even as a costume.
Yeah and the episode with the tickets with the toni girl born 1996. How did he know her name and birthdate to put it on the trophy? No way it was magically put on there once he figured out her name and stuff.

I'm not saying that it's real or fake because its your prerogative to determine that for yourself. I will say, however, that she had taken her right glove off so that she could operate her phone to take pictures or videos. You can see her holding the glove in her left hand.
The only fake shot was the bowl being lifted. In the original shot the kittens fell off the table and they asked her to rein act the part where the bowl comes off the kittens.

Why would it be fake? Most of these are pretty standard magic tricks but used in creative scenarios. If you hired actors it would be much worse. The way to prove it’s actors is if you could show the marks acting in other shows, if they were actors they’d be out there acting even if it’s a play you’d be able to find their resume and you can’t

One of the arguments was that the small box wasn't on the counter then it was... the lower right cam shows it wS actually the lady that put the box there between the reset and the second reveal. Michael's legit.
She didn't see the trick at first so he quickly reset and tried again. The failed attempt was edited out and its been put together accordingly. Y'all just hating cause you can't figure out exactly how its done
