Lisa Fischer - Medley: War!/What's Going On?

Lisa Fischer is an American R&B vocalist and songwriter. She rose to fame in 1991 with her debut album "So Intense," which produced the Grammy Award--winning hit single "How Can I Ease the Pain". Known for her wide, high-reaching vocal range, Fischer has been recognized as one of the most successful session vocalists of the era. She has been back-up singer for a number of famous artists, including Luther Vandross and Tina Turner, and has toured with The Rolling Stones since 1989.
In 2003, renown Jazz guitarist Lee Ritenour produced a project that was a jazz-friendly tribute to Motown which featured an all-star cast of artists that included George Benson, Gerald Albright, Dave Grusin, Chris Botti, Bob James, Brenda Russell, Will Downing, George Benson, Mindi Abair, Richard Elliot, Ray Parker Jr., Peter White and Linda Fischer. The project was entitled, "A Touch of Motown."
This track is a medley of the Norman Whitfield & Barrett Strong tune, "War" which rose to fame in 1970 by Edwin Starr; and the classic Marvin Gaye tune from 1971 which was co-written by Gaye with Al Cleveland and Renaldo Benson of The Four Tops.
