Refer to Mazereon's Bowgun Compendium for any specific info regarding bowguns; gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/56818 If you're coming into this quest right after the low rank village, you can try using the Daora's Delphinidae HBG. Your main focus should be using pierce shots, 2 and 3, falling back on pierce 1 when you need to. Make sure to get bullet limit if you can and bring combines for more ammo. Remember to upgrade your weapon as much as you can, and since being hit should not be an issue, make sure to attach a power barrel. If you're coming here at any time in the high rank village, try and find a weapon that you can get from Mazereon's recommended selection, or whatever the most damaging weapon you can use (with decent reload/recoil stats) that has access to at least pierce 2. Narga's HBG is a good option, or Kushala's high rank HBG, Grande Daora. I **highly** recommend you use Adrenaline+2 or Heroics if you can, and activate it when you start the quest. You shouldn't be getting hit in this quest, and the extra damage will REALLY help. Farcasters can help you avoid his tail when he starts to move between areas. That being said, there's also always the risk of you doing **TOO MUCH** damage as well... unfortunately... Since Lao can only die in the last area, if you want to kill him, you'll need to "feel out" how much damage you're doing. Unfortunately I won't really be able to help you with that, but keep in mind if you stagger him too much before the last area, you may be delaying his arrival in that last area while not dealing damage, meaning you'll have less time to kill him when he can actually start taking damage to die in the last area. It's a shitty mechanic, and it sucks they designed it that way, but them's the breaks. From what I can tell, people don't bother with using Dragon S in general. And, of course, if you can play in multiplayer I highly recommend that, if only because this fight can be pretty boring and frustrating. Hopefully that helped. Keep it up, and good luck!
@@HeadHunter455 Awesome, thanks! I didn't know the kill in the last area mechanic. I staggered him a lot, thinking the damage accumulates. Maybe that's why I couldn't kill it
Maybe, yeah it's really unfortunate. You can get him down to, I think, like 2,000 health before it just stops until he gets to the end, depending on the rank. And then if you kill him to soon in that last area, he may die out of bounds and you won't be able to carve him. It's a bit of a mess of a fight in some ways, unfortunately. If you use FUComplete, a really nice mod for MHFU, there's an option to make it so Lao can be killed outside of the last area, but some players don't consider that a legitimate way to play the game. Honestly, the fight is a mess and a huge waste of time, so you should use it if you feel like it. Hopefully your future hunts go well! 😄
I would like to ask you a question regarding LAO-SHAN LUNG. When you click on Quest Info, there is a percentage. Is it the health of LAO-SHAN or is it the health of the castle? Please reply Another question can you succeed in the mission by killing LAO-SHAN LUNG only or are there other ways I think there are other ways for me that you won without killing LAO-SHAN LUNG Is it by lowering his health to a certain degree or by protecting the castle from him Another question, if you would allow me, is he, like the ElrDrg, when he is damaged without killing him and confronting him again, is he damaged, or does he recover his health again? I need your advice because I faced him more than five times and did not win One last tip, I'm a bow user and I'm determined to defeat all monsters with a bow😄 I hope I haven't made a long comment Thank you🥰
Hey! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching 🙂 Lao-Shan Lung can be *very* frustrating, I hope you can find a way that works for you to clear or even farm the quest if you'd like. I think Bow works quite well against Lao-Shan Lung, typically speaking you'll want a piercing dragon bow, since his weak spot (his back) will be very vulnerable to Dragon, but I'm not a bow main so there may be a different best way. The percentage displayed in the quest info is the health of the town, if it reaches 0% you fail the quest. You can repel Lao-Shan Lung, this is done by reducing his health low enough and then running out of time, it's a unique mechanic because usually running out of time fails the quest, but as long as his health is low enough, he'll run away. You really just need to keep attacking him as much as you can at the end and hope for the best, you'll get a better feel for it the more that you do it. Unfortunately, Lao-Shan Lung and Shen Gaoren both do not retain their health between quests, you need to either kill or repel them in that quest, if you fail or repel the monster, the next time you fight one it will be at full health again. On top of that, Lao-Shan Lung cannot be killed until he reaches the last area anyways, even if he was at a very low health. Hope that helped clear some things up, good luck!! You got this 😄 There's no such thing as over preparing, and take a break if you need one, but you can do it! 🙂
I finally managed to defeat LAO-SHAN LUNG today using Tigrex bow level 2 and adrenalin +2 as well as Felyne Heroics... Thank you, Headhunter, for the tips, the fun videos, the excellent content, and for everything 👑You are the best 👑
www.ppsspp.org/ this is a *very* good emulator, maybe one of the best in general. You'll need to get MHFU some way, there are official ways to dump your copy of it, and other ways to get it online, unfortunately I wont be able to help much in that regard :( hunstermonter.net/hunsterverse_new.php This is hunsterverse (not a typo) It can take some setting up, but it works very well, they have a discord server where you can find people to play with, sometimes I'll play with people in my server as well. If you've never used PPSSPP before, this all can take a lot of work and seem pretty daunting, but I think it's well worth it. I'd also highly recommend you use a controller, and not your keyboard, if you can. I use an xbox one controller, it works very well.
Cool! Actually, all I can do to Lao is repel him. Can't kill him on time. Any tips on building a bow type character? Low rank bows and armors to high rank bows and armors plus decorations?
oof, well, as you get better gear and can optimize the fight, hopefully you'll at least get closer 😄 Playing in multiplayer isn't a bad idea either, even with just one other you could probably manage it somewhat comfortably, I think. If you want a weapon guide you should go here: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/57283 For armor, evasion skills and auto reload are pretty good, same with heroics or adrenaline+2. Besides those, I highly recommend Bullet Limit, which can be added 5 with Armory Jewels, not too hard to make, and an armor set with Pierce, Rapid, or Scatter Up, whichever is your highest charge level. It will increase your damage by a percent, which in most cases is much better or at least on par with Attack Up skills, especially for the skill point investment. Good luck, thanks for watching! 🙂
0:00 14:20 The point of my series is I use equipment that is convenient and effective for the player at what point they are in the game. gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/57283 Clearing this quest unlocks the rest of the high rank Gathering Quests, which is useful to have when you go into Nekoht, because she doesn't have any.
I have a small question can i run a full azure rathalos set with black bow 2 with the skills reckless abandon attack up large and earplugs is it good enough or is it too weak
Reckless Abandon is just not a good skill until you get to higher damage values, specifically 270 and above. Don't put too much importance on it, people *always* do that. You'd be better off getting AuL and HGE with the azure set in general, you can get that with the Garuga Mask. Black Bow 2 is good.
I don't know of any mods besides the texture mod, and I'm not interested in using that one at all lol I guess I've also seen a custom quest before, but yeah, I probably wont cover it.
Yeah, it's tough, especially the guild quests because they have more health, and it takes sooo looong to fight him lol, but you can do it! Try and get better equipment if you can, good luck :)

Thank you, Headhunter, for the tips, the fun videos, the excellent content, and for everything

Hahahah to bad luck bro, have allies its Counterproductive sometimes
I cry every time 😭😭😭
I didn't unlock the blango helm s xd but I use this build to farm the horn, is more easy than the LS
Yeah, bow's a great way to go about hunting a Lao and Shen
I didn't try use the bow to Shen but to lao is really useful
the old version is really difficult to beat this solo😂
😩😩😩
yoww where do you play mhfu i want to play too my dude
You could use PSP emulator
@@rockystone714 can u play with friends?
@@gerardvillaverde4812 fuck, UA-cam delete my reply. Yes you could
www.ppsspp.org/ this is a *very* good emulator, maybe one of the best in general.
You'll need to get MHFU some way, there are official ways to dump your copy of it, and other ways to get it online, unfortunately I wont be able to help much in that regard :(
hunstermonter.net/hunsterverse_new.php This is hunsterverse (not a typo)
It can take some setting up, but it works very well, they have a discord server where you can find people to play with, sometimes I'll play with people in my server as well.
If you've never used PPSSPP before, this all can take a lot of work and seem pretty daunting, but I think it's well worth it.
I'd also highly recommend you use a controller, and not your keyboard, if you can. I use an xbox one controller, it works very well.
@@HeadHunter455 thank you guys appreciate it
Thanks guy
Hey no problem 🙂
Wow new vid! So up to ukanlos then?
ye
So arrow is the best weapon option?
It's quite good, but all weapons can work well enough.

😄
I love your vids 💯❤️
😅😅😅 Thank you! 😄😄
He looks cute went stands
😄
hims got a tummy
Cool! Actually, all I can do to Lao is repel him. Can't kill him on time. Any tips on building a bow type character? Low rank bows and armors to high rank bows and armors plus decorations?
oof, well, as you get better gear and can optimize the fight, hopefully you'll at least get closer 😄
Playing in multiplayer isn't a bad idea either, even with just one other you could probably manage it somewhat comfortably, I think.
If you want a weapon guide you should go here: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/57283
For armor, evasion skills and auto reload are pretty good, same with heroics or adrenaline+2.
@@HeadHunter455 thanks bro! You're a real help! 👌
I did follow you but wth mine in quest failed HAHAHAH
oof D:
It's not an easy quest, don't give up! >.<
Remember, guild quests are going to be harder than village ones, get help from others if you can.
@@HeadHunter455 Yea but why quest failed the fort is still at 60%? dont know why

Hello
👋👋
Man, you should make G rank guides, these quests are pretty tough
That's the plan, eventually.
what made you choose the Black Bow instead of other choices?

The point of my series is I use equipment that is convenient and effective for the player at what point they are in the game. gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/57283
Clearing this quest unlocks the rest of the high rank Gathering Quests, which is useful to have when you go into Nekoht, because she doesn't have any.
Nicee
😄😄
I have a small question can i run a full azure rathalos set with black bow 2 with the skills reckless abandon attack up large and earplugs is it good enough or is it too weak
Reckless Abandon is just not a good skill until you get to higher damage values, specifically 270 and above.
Don't put too much importance on it, people *always* do that.
You'd be better off getting AuL and HGE with the azure set in general, you can get that with the Garuga Mask.
Black Bow 2 is good.
@@HeadHunter455 cool thanks and do should i just avoid reckless abandon
Hi! You can make a tutorial about mods in mhfu?
Im trying to use some mods but i can't. (emulator PPSSPP)
I don't know of any mods besides the texture mod, and I'm not interested in using that one at all lol
I guess I've also seen a custom quest before, but yeah, I probably wont cover it.
@@HeadHunter455 Thanks!
I'll see if i find a video!
is it better to use a longsword or a hammer against lao, i want this settled
They're both fine, it doesn't really matter which is better, also obviously it's dependent on how skilled you are with the weapon.
Next urgent 9 star guild hall is 2 tigrex too but harder👻
Why dont try to make Yama Tsukami Guide ???
Because I'm not even close to it yet.
Hey how you unlock the lao shan (the normal) ?
Progress through the game.

👋👋
I only used dragon great sword and bombarded his belly to win
My team slayed Lao Shan Lung and I got lucky everytime I got a Lao Shan Ruby as a carve.
No mhp3rd content?
Right now we're doing MHFU.
Once I'm more or less done with that I'll make MHP3rd videos.
I'm also planning on streaming MH Rise, we'll see if I can.
Another one rekt
😎😎
Hard ko kill ash lao😔😔
Yeah, it's tough, especially the guild quests because they have more health, and it takes sooo looong to fight him lol, but you can do it! Try and get better equipment if you can, good luck :)
@@HeadHunter455 ok...I try my best

maybe i'll get around to it. it's an optional quest, i'm doing the keys.
And thats why i must get a Smolder Dragon sword for update my Red Dragon sword is break Ash Lao's horn in 3 time in a quest but a big problem i have Ash lao shan lung have HP is 26.666 fight with my LNS lion dance saber, upgrade from lunastra material. 🥲🥲🥲
And the most anoyying part is i must fight with lunastra to get lunastra horn 3x in every i start quest for upgrade my red dragon sword, but thrust me it will be annoying beacuse lunastra's move is so aggresive like rajang and he can read my every move 🥲🥲🥲
