    I had just ordered the same brand alternator for my 66, and you made a video at the same time haha. I"m going 6 gauge on the positive side. That's what the website says.

      It works great, did it on my 1968 torino too! I’ll look up the specs on the wire, I might have to go bigger gauge.

    Nice video. I've been researching to upgrade to a 3g on my Galaxie. I'll post a video when I get it figured. If I came across a deal like this I would jump on it too! I did read last night that a single groove v-belt can only support about 100A draw. Just something to think about if you have squealing problems. Might have to search out a dual groove setup.

      didn’t know about the 100amp, I’ll have to research it too. but on the galaxie I’m going single belt serpentine setup from CVF!

      @@OmarRamirezGalaxie Hey Omar great video brother! I have a 64 Galaxy. The set up is pretty much the same as the mustang I think. What do I do with the wire harness coming off the fire wall?

      I’m in Southern California haha. I would say check your grounds first, a lot of problems can be solved with a good ground

    Nice 👍🏾 but i think you need run the indicator wire from ignition back to the alternator so the alternator can charger the battery at a low rpm the black box on the side of the alternator has to terminals one goes to red wire on the alternator the other goes to the indicator wire coming the ignition

    • @deedrew2550
      @deedrew2550 Рік тому

      I had trouble with charging at low rpm because of that especially with playing radio or with head lights on

    So the yellow wire you ran it back to the solenoid I’m having charging issues I’m confused about the regulator plug I unplugged it but something is still not letting the alternator charge

      The whole harness from the regulator is removed. And I spliced the yellow with the yellow. If you can send me an email I’ll help you out

    When you disconnect your battery, you only have to remove the negative cable.

      I believe I had a generic 60 amp from oreillys. The new one was 150 if I remember correctly

      It’s a 289 but yours is a 302 which is about the same. I have the same alternator with a sound system in my 68 Torino and it works great

    So old wires are taken out with regulator or taped off?

    • @OmarRamirezGalaxie
      @OmarRamirezGalaxie 2 роки тому +1

      You can leave the old wires if you ever want to go back. Just tape them up, but I just removed the harness since mine is all hacked up
