I wish the English translation was more complete. There are a lot of details you talk about that aren't shown in the English subtitles. I'm particularly interested in why it is better to kick with the foot extended rather than flexed to strike with the heel. Also, I'm surprised that the knee is not bent during the kick -- I've always been taught to bend my knee to generate more whip motion (this is a whip-kick, after all). This looks more like how I would do a "Wheel Kick".
