What is recommended is that you apply two coats of Mastercoat Permanent Rust Sealer and one coat of AG 111 ultimate chassis paint, and use AG 111 for top coat. the combination of the two has pasted 14,000 hours of salt spray testing!

Thats the secret - Mastercoat Primer & AG111 is the one-two punch. UNbeatable.

Thank you, good video. I have been dealing with rust for 40 years and I found that you have to totally cover whatever you want to protect inside and out for the best results. I coat a lot of metal and found the easiest thing for me to do is use 2 coats of paintable rust converter with a topcoat of truck bed liner. I touch it up at least once a year with a paint sprayer. Nothing will stop rust, you can only slow it down. Thanks again

Thanks for doing a long term test. I have a newer Jeep Wrangler and its due for frame painting, surface rust becoming more apparent. Originally i thoughts por15 but your test proved its not the best option. Cheers!

Thanks for this great test. I'm going with the Mastercoat AG111, like yourself

Hey I'm down a rabbit hole learning about these products the past few days. You should check out a video by "The Repair Geek" titled "If you think POR-15 is good paint..." He used a combination of the Mastercoat +AG111 for some amazing results using similar testing to what you did here. I think you'd enjoy his video.

Thanks for doing this.....wondering why you didn't try comparing with Eastwood's popular encapsulator products; I'd love to see how it holds up in that salt chamber. But either way, the two that held up would most certainly work in any application. Very cool.

I've used Eastwood internal frame and chassis black on a work truck. I live in rust belt. Prep is 95% of any successful job like this. Also I used ospho to kill rust. That was 12 yrs ago and no rust. I also use a home made oil, wax recipe. 1 quart each of used oil, trans fluid, 1 grease gun tube, 1 wax ring toilet gasket, half quart or so of boiled linseed oil. I mix and heat all this in old pot. Buy or make a spray gun, wand only $30 amazon and spray this everywhere u can. Does not rust.

Puede decirme los enlaces de los dos productos que le dieron el mejor resultado para buscarlo en Amazon, lo siento pero no puedo ver bien sus nombres, solo veo los más comunes que dieron los peores resultados, le agradecería tu ayuda

Could you leave a link to the top 2 contenders ? Secondly I plan on coating the underside of a mower deck. This is moisture plus like a severe pounding. Would the AG111 hold up to this ?

What did you end up using? How did it hold up? I'm considering Mastercoat for primer on a snowblower. Thank you!

Isn't the test invalid? You would have to completely cover the metal on all sides because if not then the rust can travel from within so if the metal is completely covered then perform the test you'd get accurate results.

Unless you are going to dip your every part (frame?) Then you too will have surfaces you cannot coat right next to coated surfaces. Test is legit, thank you for saving me the POR15 money. That stuff really isnt all ppl who haven't tested it (only applied it) have said about it
