Hwa.Malcolm : Shock Leader is a must. Along the shore line of Singapore, it’s filled with natural rock and coral features, if not reclaimed land with rock foundation. Common species like groupers will go into these places with our lines causing it to rub and break. A shock leader can provide the distance to rubbing against such structures and against the toothy predators like Tengiri and Todak that may break the line and ruin the whole day. It is also better to lose some shock leader than the expensive fishing line you just spooled which is normally more expensive than the leader. Lastly, shock leaders tend to be almost invisible in water. So some fishes who are easily spooked are much likely to take the bait/lure.
Usually I'll tie FG knot with fluorocarbon n braided to ensure shocked will be absorbed by fluorocarbon due braided lines doesn't stretch n will break as compared to fluorocarbon lines @tneah
Hi YX. Congrats on your catch. Any chance to advise why you have a black tube wrap on the front part of the net. I also see this in some kayaker have this black tube on the below part of their rod.
Hey bro! nice video and good job on the solid Ang Gao! Reason why Shock Leader is IMPORTANT! I feel that Shock Leader is important especially for bottom fishing or jigging because when the fishes take the bait lure or jig, the shock leader acts as a shock absorber to resist abrasion against the teeth of the fish or if the fish tries to swim for structure. Moreover, I prefer flurocarbon leaders as it is not easily visible underwater😍
Eh bro hahahaa snap....haiyoyo Ocea leader is a want to go thing bro to have in my tackle box...i was once like you tying short leader until i play overseas trip...Captain Mat teach me when you aim for monster fish you need to have a bounce upon striking the fish thats y you need a longer leader and another main purpose is abrasion for those bottom monster grouper n more lah...even we use long leader for surf fishing bro... Anyway awesome video short n meaningful video.. Happy NS life bro... R.O.D OHH..!!!! Share already in fb bro...!!!
Wow bro the fresh cut!! All the best for NS! Reason why shock leaders are important: They are literally invisible when in water, and they act as the number 1 absorber of the physical shock when hooking up a fish. They are also very abrasion resistant, so when sangkot your jigs still got chance to come out, and to lower the chance of breakage against toothy fish! @irfangoesfishing

Hey JBL! Very good answer :)
@@facepalmfishing thx shifu!
How old are you
I also use the shimano ocea leader. I tie a FG knot to connect the leader to my main line. I reel in a 4kg pacu with that ocea leader
Yessss, new video!! Anyways, fluorocarbon is a definite yes for me. Abrasion-resistant, less stretch & the transparency of the line in water!
Good answer :)
Fluorocarbon leader will help with lure presentation, shock absorption and abrasion resistance!
Not bad! Good answer and thanks for watching :)
How long should leader be?
