Ha ha! Been there done that! My birds had serrated leaves as wings die cut from the 'inside' pattern side of the paper. So versatile as the birds can be used for many different occasions. A top hat and a ring of flowers for a bride and groom. Two birds kissing as an engagement. Also birds pecking a cake for other celebrations.
I love paper birdies...have a bunch of different ones on my Pinterest board! These are so cute & a great way to add a bit of whimsy to a card and use up patterned paper! Save that envelope liner and make a template for future use! Makes it so much easier the next time! Sadly, most people don't even realize the effort we go through to dress up our envelopes...BUT we know!
So cute. You inspired me to line my envelopes again, I used to do it, but have become lazy lately. I have 85 birthday cards made ahead and had fun finding complimentary papers for the lining. Took me about 3 hours to do all 85. I make rectangular cards (not as expensive to mail as square); so had my own template to use instead of using a square. Love the birds . Will be fun to do with my grandkids. Thanks.
This is such a sweet card! And you're right... an excellent way to use patterned paper! I used to make my own envelopes and line each of them but have gotten lazy in the past couple of years. I forgot how nice the lined envelopes look. Thanks for sharing this adorable card! 🩷
So cute Christine. It took me a while to figure out why the wing in the background was bigger! 😂 I had to take a 2nd look. Thank you for your demos using up what we already have 🎉
These little birdies are the cutest ever! Make me giggle! Great way to use up 2 pieces of paper, matching envelope is pretty swanky! Erica❤ love your tuft of grass!❤
Another interesting way too use your papers, and I think these long legged birds are so cute, and the green spotted/script papers cut in circles and folding so the spots make the back and wings and the script becomes the chest work brilliantly, and the black micron pen legs and the black gems for eyes finish them perfectly and love the added grass and sentiment..must give this a try. x
The birds are just delightful, they reminded me of Little Golden Book illustrations 🙂. Here's my current favourite use of patterned paper that I just have lying around: I use a small but compact die and cut it repeatedly in a straight line so the negatives form a border on the cardstock. I pick a patterned paper and stick a strip of it on the back so it peeps out through the border. I cut a thinner strip that I edge the inside of the card with and in one corner I put one of the die-cuts. If I have enough patterned paper to line the envelope with I do that, otherwise I make a fake seal for the envelope by cutting a small circle of it andsticking another of the die-cuts onto it. I love how elegantly matching it all looks, great for if I'm making many cards in one go, and it really eats my hoarded papers.
I love these little birds, so clever, reminds me someone did a Christmas card for me making a Robin in the same way. You've given me si many things to look at and do but l really need to keep concentrated on the decorating for now.
Ah Chris! I adore these whimsical little birds - so simple, and so appealing with their heart tails and their beady eyes. The matching envelope adds a touch of luxury!. TFS 🐦
What a fabulous little card. So simple yet effective. Think I will try this for my friends belated birthday card for a bit of fun. New to your channel but will be looking out for more.
I love this card! The birds are adorable, and you made them look so happy. I laughed when the jewel popped away and when the beak didn't just go on easily, because that is the way I craft. Those small things are so fiddly and difficult sometimes, but you made them go together perfectly. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Your timing is perfect! I'm trying to dress up some plain kraft colored envelopes. Perfect solution. Those little birds are darling. Thank you for yet another fun card project.
So cute…I thought they looked like chickens…will keep this in mind when making Easter cards for my granddaughter, great nieces & great nephew…so fun!!!
This is a brilliant card for one of my crafting buddies as she keeps chickens and loves their little characters. This will be perfect. Thank you once again for an amazing idea.
I’ve seen these birds on Pinterest also. So cute and they look great with each of the birds in a different paper from same pad. Some black ink doodles jazz them up too!
Oh Christine those little birds take me back to my childhood I remember making birds similar to this at easter time in primary school a loooong time ago wonderfully fun card and great memories!

Great stuff!
What a clever idea adding the paper inside the envelope... I love it
Glad you like it!😊
Adorable! I must say that when pearls go flying and it takes 6 attempts to attach a beak, I am here chuckling, Christine. I feel the frustration!
It’s just normal everyday occurrences! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Absolutely !
I would love it if you stay on the patterned paper theme for a little while. We all have so much of it unused in our stash. Thank you.
I would have to have a think or two 🤣
Oh my gosh the legs and grass just make the card. Love it!
Thanks so much 😊😊😊
These are so darn cute but until you cut the beaks I thought you had gone round the bend lol. I love them and the matching envelope. Thank you so much
