No wonder Vincent's voice was in demand for narration. He had great diction and a calm, soothing voice which always sounded like he was ready to go quietly insane. lol He was the ultimate "dignified" villain. Thanks so much, loved it !!!
Vincent is one of my favorite voice actors in Old Time Radio. He probably did five times more Voice work and radios any good in Motion Pictures. He tells stories and paints mental is like no other! He had a series in the 70s called the price of fear which is my all-time favorite old time radio series
I Remember him Narrating Michael Jackson's " THRILLER" Video, with his great voice also, Vincent Price was a Gourmet food chef also, Was one of his Passions May he RIP & is Sadly missed by all of his Fans Etc.
Always loved this movie. There have been so many variations on this basic plot, but I've always been surprised there's not been a direct remake. It's such a fun thriller! My wife and I watch this every couple of years. We're not old people, either, lol. We just love old cinema, and we both love Vincent Price.
Thanks for specifying, "We're not old peolpe either..." Trust me, age and appreciation for quality wirk are not related. My wife and I are boareline old. LOL
I love Vincent Price and old(er) cinema too, I like movies from the US, France, Sweden, Italy, Britain, Japan, Europe, etc. I'm gonna be 50yrs. next week and I kinda feel the same when I was 20, I got wiser though, learned a lot from life, and aren't as excessive anymore. And I'm glad to be were I'm at now. Getting older ain't so bad after all.. :)
Nobody is better than Vincent Price in a dramatic horror film! His looks, voice, mannerisms, etc. are just perfect. He's always impressive, and commanding. Thanks for this great movie!
This plot was remade to good effect on "Tales from the Crypt" called "Mute Witness to Murder". Vincent Price was so charming, that even when he was a "bad guy", you couldn't help but root for him. Except when he was threatening The Brady Bunch boys. "By the way... how's Margaret?" Absolutely love the sofa she was sitting on ;) And the other lovely scenery and interiors. Nicely shot.
Was just about to say this myself when I saw your post. He is such a brilliant actor that sometimes people don't see the man himself. I also saw an interview with his daughter some years ago, apparently he was a wonderful father.
@fleetlordavtar. Ah, that’s where you’re wrong- I’m a generationX child. I just happen to prefer all the old movie stars to these current ones who I don’t rate too highly tbh.
Whilst I'd agree that she was scheming, I still think that she genuinely loved him. I think that the relationship mirrors Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, with one goading the other, telling themselves that they are doing it for their partner's own good.
San Francisco features in many of these noir movies. Interesting dream sequence. Captures the frustration of trying to run in a dream. The topic of evil psychologists feature frequently in this era movies.
I WATCH THE HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL WHEN IT CAME. I WILL NEVER REWATCH IT. SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME. THEY MADE A REMAKE OF T.H.O.H.H.. I DID NOT WATCH IT.
I have to say that this film was a Hell of a lot better than I thought that it would be - I read the premise and assumed that it would be more of a melodrama, but it actually ended up being quite a neat little piece of Film Noir. Also, Vincent Price gives a great, nuanced performance and its interesting to see him 'sans moustache', and before he was an established horror actor.
Patient Mr Edwards has THE best psycho look & scared the bleep out of me! LOL... I`ve listened to a lot of Vincent Price radio dramas & have just started watching the movies. I`m loving them, & did not realize how handsome he was.
I fell in love for this man, when I saw him in the movie House of Wax . Great movie . Vicent Price great actor. One more masterpiece with Vicent Price.😊😊😊😍😍😍
Love Vincent price. One ofthe best actors of all times. Hecould do drama comedy or the creepy. Love all of his movies. Watched him as far back as the 1930s. Very handsome talented man..
The old movies were like that very often. That part was more like real life. The rest tended to be clean, elegant and authoritative. Today everything is just the opposite in movies, uncertain and endings tend to be open.
I know that overwhelming feeling of being torn between murder and walking away; I hope whoever reads this comment, is never EVER faced with that choice, it will haunt you for a long time.
Many years ago Yul Brynner and Vincent Price appeared on What's my Line, both actor whistle because they have the most unique and recognizable voices it would give them away. Both my favorite actors.
Vincent price has always been the love of my life always , drop dead gorges , and of course as always the king of horror , and not to mention his beautiful voice , brilliant actor on screen , I have seen most of his films , bloody good and bloody creepy , all my family loved vincent and all his films , but very sad he died years ago as a sweet elderly gentleman who will never be forgotten . Then you would like Vincent Price in his episode of "The Snoop Sisters" TV show with Helen Hayes and Mildred Natwick. The original Shakespearean ham and narcissist!
Brilliant film, knitting watching Vincent Price on a cold windy day....... Perfect!
Hey me too...but mine is a dark and stormy night....Absolutely Prefect
Here a cool and quiet night, almost spring, the wind has stopped.. Perfect!

"THRILLER!"

Yeah, and he had lots of character and charisma...
FINALLY A GOOD QUALITY PRINT OF THIS THANK YOU!
Vincent Price, a great charismatic talent in the kind of role that he was best at.
Vincent playing both a good and evil role. Hate to see him being manipulated by a scheming woman ‼️ Thanks for posting this 😱

Vincent Price without a mustache appears younger in this great film.
I noticed that when I was a little kid back around 1950. I never thought that that moustache did anything for him.
Great quality upload. A lot better than the others I’ve been seeing. I can actually understand the dialogue in this. Thank you.

Vincent Price was an excellent actor that did dozens upon dozens of movies, quite a few in Italy too
does this make anyone else suspicious of these kinds of hospitals, or even a nursing home?

People even today use institutionalization (and nursing homes) to get rid of people they don't like. Be glad at least that lobotomies are banned now.
