THIS MADE MY DAY LIKE FOR PAST 3 DAYS IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A GOOD INSTRUCTOR OR A GOOD BEGINNER FRIENDLY TUTORIAL FINALLY I FOUND UR VIDEO LIKE THANK YOU SO DAMN MUCH THIS MEANS ALOT 💗
I struggled from the get go with the magic circle from other videos - for whatever reason that took a bit for me to catch onto. Then once I got that down my biggest hurdle was knowing where the stitches were - with the yarn being the same color it all looked the same to me. Until I watched your video tutorial that was very clearly explained and helped it finally click. I completed this little whale and while it’s not perfect it turned out so cute. My very first attempt. Patterns and videos can seem overwhelming to beginners - thank you for not just the breakdown (which was done very well and was easy to follow) but having the full flow from start to finish. Nothing is more frustrating than starting or trying to follow a tutorial that glosses over information like everyone just automatically knows it. Now I’ll start 2024 off with a new little 🐳 and what’s looking like a new hobby. ❤
Hi Tamera, thanks so much for the sweet message. I'm really grateful that this video came to you at the right time! It's tough because obviously not all crochet tutorials can be as detailed as this since it would take way too long, so I geared this video specifically for absolute beginners who need ground up help. After this project, I'm sure you'll be able to follow along with tutorials that go a little faster!! I'm so excited for your new hobby and congrats on your new little 🐋!

Thank you!! I feel like is the best video so far explaining how to do it. I'm completely new to this and was so confused with other videos. Trying this tonight🥳
Glad you enjoyed it! You can easily substitute this with a worsted weight or bulky chunky yarn (I would recommend a 4.0mm hook). If you have a giant yarn (like Sweet Snuggles), I would recommend you use my jumbo narwhal pattern instead: littleworldofwhimsy.com/jumbo-narwhal-free-crochet-pattern/ (I recommend a 5.0mm hook). Let me know if you need more clarification!
Omg i had such a hard time with the Magic ring and have been watching tutorials for about 5 hours… and when i tried your i finished so fast❤ did you make the design?
After 5 hours solid , I managed it , I wasn’t giving up , I’ve just learned granny squares , but mine came out bigger I seem to have more stitches after the 12th increase row , but it came out ok
Hello I saw your video I recently bought things for me to start to crochet because you’ve inspired me! ❤🎉 and I had a question can I do the same thing but with any yarn like thicker yarn for instance? (I just saw it’s called plush yarn)
Omg i started learning a week ago and this is my first project and I’m halfway thru with the lil whale body (lil bowl stage 🥣🥣🥣) and I’m so excited cuz it’s resembling a SPHERE and I might CRY !!!
Love the whale, finally finished an amigurumi. Super clear instructions. One thing that I did struggle with though was that round 3 and round 4 both say 18 stitches at the end of the round, ended up looking at your written pattern to confirm that count was 24 stitches for round 4. :D
Hi Jesse - sorry about that, you’re correct. I pinned a comment and added it to the description but it’s hard to edit the video without completely reuploading :(
ah...I see no worries...I was watching on tv so unable to see the comment lol... I go it figured out, love the video and it is super great@@littleworldofwhimsy
Wonderful tutorial, but I was wondering if in round 10 we skip the stitch that holds the fins/tail, the total stitch in the end wouldn't be 30, or did I missed count?
Hi! You’re right - at the round where we create the fins and tail each of those do take up one stitch, so when we work round 10 you’ll be skipping a stitch for each of those three. However, since we don’t want to decrease three stitches in that round I usually end up just adding back the three stitches as I work around the fins and tail to balance out the stitches that we skipped. I didn’t mention this in the video because honestly the final stitch count doesn’t matter too much for beginners as long as you’re able to get the fins and tail in place, but hopefully this answers your question!
This tutotrial is amazing i swear , but i am having problems hahahaha , ur very kind and the instrucstion are clear, i will be trying it later again . I did the first part then i was confused XD . not really gonna give up until i am able to make one . thank uuuu for the videooo
I've watched so many of these tutorials and I get to a certain point whether it be at the start or middle or near end and the instructor assumes I know mor than I do and I get lost and confused and quit. Your tut is so perfect!! But I have hand/arm issues, so the hook size just won't do for me. Could you please, possibly recommend a hook several sizes larger with an appropriate plush size yarn to go with it? I'm so new to crochet so don't have a clue to figuring out specs. I was so happy to come across your channel. I liked and sub'd. Tfs
Hi Kathy, thanks for commenting and glad this has been helping. If you want to size up, I would recommend you use Bernat Blanket yarn (super bulky) and a 5mm hook. I would NOT recommend that you use a plush or chenille yarn because those yarns are incredibly hard to work with (not to mention poorly made so they shed like crazy).
Im planning to do thid but want the belly to be in a different colour what exactly do i do different and when. I mean im cwn learn how to change colours in other videos bjt when do i change it? Could you tell me at wht time of the video o have to do this? Of course ill take every exta advice kf you have any. Thanks for answering
Hi there! I would suggest that you switch to the white belly yarn at round 11 until the end. You can follow this tutorial on how to change color: littleworldofwhimsy.com/how-to-change-colors-in-amigurumi-easy-photo-tutorial/. Switching at round 11 should get you a cute white belly on the bottom! Let me know if you have any other questions :)
I keep trying to do this but the hook i was given is too big so all my stitches are really loose and not very stitch-looking :(( Im gonna try again if i can get a smaller hook
Hiii I love your videos!!! Thank you for posting free patterns that are so beautifully made!! I was wondering if it would be okay if I created items using your youtube tutorial patterns to sell?

Omg i had such a hard time with the Magic ring and have been watching tutorials for about 5 hours… and when i tried your i finished so fast❤ did you make the design?
THANKYOU! I COMPLETED IT AND IM SO HAPPY!
Yay!!!!!! So happy for you!!!
After 5 hours solid , I managed it , I wasn’t giving up , I’ve just learned granny squares , but mine came out bigger I seem to have more stitches after the 12th increase row , but it came out ok
HAHAH ME TOO 5 solid hours and i finally made it for my first crochet project! :D
This was so great and fun to follow! Thank you.
Amazing tutorial!!!!!! I FINALLY DID IT ❤❤
You are a great teacher Thank you.
Hello I saw your video I recently bought things for me to start to crochet because you’ve inspired me! ❤🎉 and I had a question can I do the same thing but with any yarn like thicker yarn for instance? (I just saw it’s called plush yarn)
Thank you. This was easy to understand, and very fun to make :)
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Super easy to follow for this beginner. I really appreciate the time you put into this. :)
I'm so glad it was helpful!
I just found my crochet hook and yarn and black pearls while cleaning the house today xD So I am trying this! What a coincidence.
That's awesome!!!! I believe in you 🤗
Wonderful tutorial, but I was wondering if in round 10 we skip the stitch that holds the fins/tail, the total stitch in the end wouldn't be 30, or did I missed count?
Your a wonderful teacher! Thank you!😊
You are so welcome!
I made 2 and I love them❤
Absolutely easy and quick, I will definitely make them for our projects, please send me an easy pattern for octopus.
So glad this helped!! I don't have a pattern for an octopus right now but will definitely add it to the list ☺️
Thank you so much for making this tutorial! It was really easy to follow and I love my little whale!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks for watching 💕
Very clear instructions. Thank you.
Glad it helped, thanks!
@@littleworldofwhimsy Thank you sooo much....that would all be doable for me!
I keep trying to do this but the hook i was given is too big so all my stitches are really loose and not very stitch-looking :((
Im gonna try again if i can get a smaller hook
i made a whale but now its a fish or a narwhale tysm ur my lifesaver
Hiii I love your videos!!! Thank you for posting free patterns that are so beautifully made!! I was wondering if it would be okay if I created items using your youtube tutorial patterns to sell?
Hi! Yes, of course!
thank you so much!
Hi! I commented on your waffle bear video, and thank you so much for recommending this video for me! I am a beginner so it was hard to make the waffle bear, this video helped me understand more about crocheting thank you!
Hello again! I’m really glad that the recommendation helped - this is always the project I recommend for first timers. I’m glad it’s going better this time!
I got your vedio 2 day's before made one for myself, but I want a bigger one how should I increase and decrease, please explain Thank you 😊😊
Do you have a video on dolphin?
Hi! You can use my chubby narwhal pattern to create a larger whale: ua-cam.com/video/ti-R8rDHnLY/v-deo.html

Okay Thank you
this is so helpful but i still wish i could get you to spawn in my house and teach me this because i have absolutely no clue where to go after the first round lol
