Bolgoda Lake

Situated near Colombo, Bolgoda Lake is the largest natural lake in Sri Lanka, covering 374 square kilometres of partially fresh and brackish water. This enchanting lake, formed by two interconnected lakes in the Colombo and Kalutara districts, has created diverse habitats, including marshes, mangrove forests, grasslands, scrublands, and peat bogs.
