The intro caught me off guard lmaoo
same ahahhaa
I sure did jump 😂😂
It's perfection!!! Didn't see it coming either!!
Diamond Dave’s got me the most 😂😂
Me to 😭😭💀
Lol, Oak still looks too innocent with the smile intro
its precious lol
he looked like he was ready to bolt from the room several times.
I love him 😭😅
Right? lmaooo
he really does
I’m really glad they kept mentioning the marketing this movie had in their intro. The marketing team for this movie was so creative. Hiding smiling actors at places with huge amounts of people such as sports stadiums and just have the cameras pan over them over time was just a stroke of genius. It was the whole reason on why I and many went to watch it in theatre
Really? Never heard of this or saw this at all, US only maybe? I saw the short years ago and that's why I went to see it
I seen it and I’m from England it was everywhere
@@benlee3071 damn we never get anything fun up here! Always feel left out 😴
Well that's cool, I never saw any of that XD guess I just don't watch stuff where they did that marketing
Me too. The marketing was a smart idea and it was the whole idea why I wanted to watch it too
"what if the cat comes back smiling?" 😂😂😂😂
It would be a Cheshire cat.
Not "I'm looking forward to see if Oak dies tonight." 😂 Diamond Dave's a savage 😂😂
He slipped that in so quick 🤣
Oak is too nice to pull off a threatening smile 😂
I just came here to hear Mason Quinn say "It's the A-Train baby!" he did not disappoint 😌🤭😁
This movie was actually a short movie from youtube. It got so many attraction that the big movie studio’s wanted to make a “big” movie about it. The girl in the beginning also starred in the youtube video.
Oh really. Which one?
@@DragonEmperor-yz4se I think it was deleted but search Smile short,
@@DragonEmperor-yz4seit’s called “Laura Hasn’t Slept”
Highly recommend watching. It’s very creepy.
@@DragonEmperor-yz4se it's called Laura Hasn't Slept!
It's smart that the protagonist is a doctor because then she would feel inclined to not believe the stuff she's seeing and be sceptical about it.
It's a bit controversial but I like the idea from this movie that a grand gesture isnt gonna solve your problems. Our MC has been burying her trauma for many years now (hasnt bern keeping up with therapy, not selling the childhood home, overworking etc) so it is kinda nice if not sad that her finally confronting her problems wouldnt be enough, because in real life, thats not how it works. Things would be so easy if we could all burn our metaphorical trauma house and move on but we can't. It takes time, and patience and care and support amongst many other things. I guess the scariest thing thing about this movie is how easy it is idle through life until your trauma consumes you and everything around you, and by the time you realize tyat you need to do something, it might be too late.
That’s what I liked about it, honestly.
I’m fully convinced oak is just a big teddy bear
The showing of the pain chart seemed like irony more than anything. Because anyone who is infected by this thing is absolutely in for a world of pain.
"I know him from Smallville as The Flash." Answer is so real for that. 😂
When I first watched it I legit got scared to be alone at the kitchen lol. It's so disturbing. Using smile, a generally friendly gesture and make it the main theme of something traumatic is definitely genius.
One of the guy's I work with has been tormenting the person he works with by smiling at them after they saw this film.
"Despite the overt supernatural elements at play, the actual narrative serves as a metaphor for trauma and the need to mask your actual feelings behind a smile. By constantly withholding how you really feel from those around you, the mental struggles you're coping with will only go stronger, to the point that they could result in tragic or permanent repercussions".
Trauma follows you and whether you mean to or not, it spreads to others
Excellent way to summarize this movie thematically!❤💞❤️
Yep.
So cool to see you rep Cinema Therapy! I love that channel.
And fun fact: the lead actress is the daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kira Sedgwick.
They have a fantastic channel 🤘
WE not MAKIN IT OUT THE CHILDHOOD TRAUMA WITH THIS ONE
Guys, y’all gotta react to “TALK TO ME”
YESS
I would actually pay them to watch Talk To Me! That movie still sticks w me. What a banger of a movie w also an amazing bts of who & how it got brought to the screen! Idk if it's on their radar, but if they want a good horror movie that is newer that is a top pick!❤💞❤️
I didn’t expect much from Talk to Me but man did it surprise me. It’s got some of the more disturbing horror imagery I’ve seen in a while and the very last scene gave me goosebumps.
And if you want to look deeper into it, it’s an excellent allegory for drug addiction, at least for me personally.
@skyofthelivingdead oh absolutely. The connection w addiction is so palpable w this movie. I cannot praise it & the creative team enough. I've said before, it's rare that a movie sits w me so long after this one did. I would hope the guys would give it a watch, but I'm hoping more they would understand it cause it seems like Smile missed w them about trauma staying w you forever. I think sometimes they watch horror for just the creepy, scare factor & miss alot of the deeper messages in so many great horror films.
YESSSS
The actors really had to act in this movie. The facial expressions of fear and utter terror from each actor is what made this movie very chilling.
Smile 2 will be coming out soon. This movie reminds me of another movie titled, It Follows. Similar concept of something evil being passed along.
It reminds me of Fallen from 1998. No smiling but very similar demon jumps from person to person tormenting them in the guise of strangers. There though it uses the people it possesses to murder others rather than themselves.
@@Senkoau Yeah very similar to Fallen. That was a great movie that I haven't seen in years. Need to do a re-watch
@@Senkoauyes.... the guy mentions it at around 41:53
@@Rash23215 I noticed, Hazards of commenting before finishing the reaction. Thanks though.

ALSOOO ANOTHER MOVIE YALL SHOULD CHECK OUT IS THE BABADOOK
The mouth drop moment I had when the smile entity revealed itself💀
I love that movie! Haven't watched the reaction yet but I just want to say that I love what you did with the black and white clips of you smiling🤣 literally made my day better haha
Caitlin Stasey, the girl who 💀 right at the start of the movie, is a great Australian actress, she’s the lead in an amazing Aussie movie Tomorrow When The War Began, such an overlooked epic film
thanks for the info! imma look that one up cuz she's amazing in this movie and i wanna see more of her
I also remember her in the series Reign as Kenna, in that she was also good!
@@btstrasharmyexo-lbaekiesha2776 nice google kid
She’s also the reason this became a movie, she was in the short film Laura can’t sleep or something
@@btstrasharmyexo-lbaekiesha2776 yeah I loved that series! She was great in that
Enjoyed this one. Wasn't sure what to expect but the people smiling at random events to promote it was definitely interesting lol. Poor kitty though. 💚
I just know their jaws hurt
My friend and I are in our Master's program to be therapists and when we saw this movie in theaters we were just like "this is a little too close to home."
the intro lmfaaooo ya'll are too funny
Welcome to another episode of Oak’s “Whattafak are we watching” 😂😂😂😂 I just love it 😭😭❤❤
That right there is a movie that truly exceeded my expectations. Way better than I thought and the first horror to scare me in 12 years. Not jumpscare me, but *scare* me. Lora smiling at the camera in the shadows, the voice of Rose's mom walking around the house calling her name and saying _"help me, mommy made a mistake"_ I genuinely had to take my earphones out. Something I barely feel the need to do. And ofcourse that jumpscare was one of the gnarliest
Edit: In my defense, I was watching it alone, with earphones, lights out in my apartment and my whole family was asleep...
Movie gets a lot of hate in the horror community, but I loved watching this.
Sosie Bacon (Kevin Bacons daughter) sold the shit out how insane she seemed and the whole movie hinged on her performance. It wasn't mindblowing, but it was easily on par with Barbarian for me (4 out of 5)
Really? This shit is horrifying! Why the hate?

Ooooh LOVED the intro with those random smiles of Badd Medicine! 😄 & what a name for a cat, "Moustache" lol 🐱 & Quinn's "come here" gesture at 21:26 **teehee** 😈 & at 35:02 I wouldn't wanna investigate, but my curiosity would get the better of me to go see & damn! We didn't get a jump scare from Oak this time! & what an unusual song to end movie on lol 🎶
"What the fuck are we watching?"
"Horror, Dave."
😂😂😂
I loved this movie. Havent caught ur reaction fully yet, but hoping yall noticed anytime there is a yellow color palatte on anyone smiling that is the "monster" for lack of better word.
Kyle Gallner (Detective/ex-boyfriend) was in a recent movie called The Passenger that is an excellent thriller, I highly recommend you guys check that one out. Very tense movie where Gallner plays a character that genuinely feels like he could snap at any moment
Very good movie & Gallner crushed it! We have so many amazingly talented actors in the horror genre that can cross over so easily it seems to all other genres❤💞❤️
I thought this was a solid 3.5/5 horror movie. The premise of the “Smile Entity” is pretty cool, and it lends itself to a lot of different stories. Can’t wait for Smile 2 this year
Haha so creative with the intro, had me cracking up 🤣
This movie is just terrifying. I can't wait for part 2
I'm sure someone else has already said it but the Denzel Washington and John Goodman movie is Fallen. Okayish movie, great ending, and a few particular scenes that were memorable
Nice to see someone else remembers that film.
Time is on my side
I hadn't heard anything about this movie before I went to see it and it reminded me a lot of It Follows (which is a movie I love). I was very pleasantly surprised because this is the type of horror I like.
It follows was another great one w such a unique concept!❤💞❤️
0:33 DIAMOND DAVE JUMPSCARE
In all seriousness tho, I love this movie and how accurately it portrays someone going through a mental health crisis as well as the psych unit of a hospital. My mom’s been working psych since I was just a year old in 1996 and I have diagnoses of my own, so I’ve got a fairly good insight. It was very well done. And yes, most therapists HAVE therapists.
Ironically enough, for as dark as this movie is, it was one of my funniest theater experiences. When Rose first starts seeing the entity in the scene with Carl and she asks “how are you feeling?” some dude in my theater yelled “doin’ pretty good!” and everyone busted up laughing. It really helped ease the constant tension for a second.
A smile virus, and the bit that Oak can't believe is that the sister sent info on the train set, haha. Gave me a laugh
It was a hit at the box office, now couple of days ago the smile 2 trailer drop off!
The movie wit Denzel is called "Fallen"... Yall shud check it out on the channel. Good movie
Time is on my side
Nah, they were cookin with that intro. Gave me the creeps, good thing I'm watching this in the morning 😂
When Quinn mentioned Fallen (the Denzel movie) I literally yelled out loud... I could not for the life of me remember why this movie felt so familiar until then.
** Tiiiimmme... is on my side... yes it is **
Fallen still creeps me out.
I yelled, "Fallen!" immediately when Mason Quinn mentioned the movie with Denzel. Great movie. Hated the ending.
@@Mudge0001damn I did that to somebody else's comment 😂
Them switch seats was weird
The Doctor who Rose is seeing is the women from SOA who was trying to help tara get custody of Able and Thomas.
Lol -- I just saw the words "Doctor Who Rose" in that order and got very confused for a second.
@@tjnguyen8546 XD
Katey sagal's sister or something like that McNally sagal I believe never mind I know you're talking about I thought it was Tara's boss at the hospital what she is the lawyer for the sons
@@paulcarpenter7844 Oh no, I meant that, on the show "Doctor Who", there are two prominent characters named Rose, so when I saw the words "Doctor Who Rose", I thought you were talking about THAT show at first and got very confused lol.
Missed yall watching scary movies 😂 I know oak wasn’t having it already ❤❤
Diamond Dave definitely got the creepiest smile 😭 oak has the sweetest! This movie haunts me man I was in the theater sobbing because of how uncomfortable I was watching it
1:49 she is Kevin Bacon's daughter 💜
I already told them that
Did you know the main girl is Kevin Bacon and Keira Sedweg's daughter?
We didn't until folks in comments mentioned it. She did fantastic.
I've been wanting to see this great reaction! I love the FREAKY DEAKY smiles from you all!! ❤ 😁

Have they seen 'It follows'? Another horror movie with somthing similar
Dang look at Praper gettin WORK in! All the Reel Rejects videos plus Badd Medicine? Man who else do they edit for I don’t even know about! Lol great job Praper!
Fallen is the movie Mason Quinn is talking about and it's a great movie. Much scarier than this I'd love for you guys to watch it.
DD & Answer got the creepiest smiles 🤣
The reason they play lollipop song at the end is because the monsters name is lollipop because it enters peoples mouth to make them smile, that’s what was said by one of the producers
Therapist here! It might be workplace policy in her setting/hospital to go speak with another mental health person after an incident like that, but that level of violence is pretty unusual. There is something called a "critical incident debriefing" they might do for the team. Ironically, speaking with someone typically isn't required.
Therapist here as well. I think it probably depends on the specific site and setting (e.g., CMHC/CCBHC versus PRTF versus Psychiatric Hospital versus University Counseling versus Private Practice, so on so forth). From my experience, it varies, both in terms of how such situations are handled in addition to the incidence of such situation. (Remember, therapy as a profession is consistently ranked in the top 5 professions for violence against the professional; so, to say that such violence is pretty unusual is not particularly accurate). However, we do know that Critical Incident Debriefing (in terms of the general principle as applied to posttraumatic situations and crises) makes things worse; in an institutional/organizational setting, the use of such procedures would probably constitute an OSHA violation.
There’s something so absolutely terrifying about people grinning randomly. That is exactly why when men tell me “you should smile more!” Or “you’d be so pretty if you just smiled” or “aw, smile, little lady!” I smile just like this creepy lady. I don’t need to be told to smile by strangers men. I hope it teaches them a lesson on making a comment to women on how they want them to look.
I forget the name for it but there is a term for when someone’s smile doesn’t meet their eyes and that’s what gives that kinda creepy, uncanny appearance. Usually with a genuine smile, people’s eyes crease, light up, “smile” with the rest of the face, for lack of a better term.
It’s not always an indicator of something sinister, of course, and usually isn’t. It’s pretty common in autistic and/or depression masking in social situations. I struggled a lot with it as a teenager and young adult, but I do understand why it looks off-putting, for sure lmao.
Facts!
Mason Quinn bringing up Denzel Washington in Fallen is spot on. I also had the same thought after watching this movie. I think y'all would love that one. While this movie doesn't really beat you over the head (teehee) with it, it definitely feels like an allegory for mental health. But no so on the nose that it feels like its being forced. The entire theme of "I'm fine" despite clearly being not fine is very relatable.
Watching this at 1am was not a good idea, Holy shit that intro!
Too scared to watch this movie, although I’m interested in it lol - glad I can watch it vicariously through you guys!
I do like the reactions where all of you are seeing something for the first time.
This movie does, in fact, have a sequel on the way.
How can you get scared from a movie with the lights on?? 😂
I've never even seen this movie, but I'm still gonna totally watch the reaction just to see if Oak is jumpscared outta his mind like in Barbarian. LOL I've watched that snippet way more times than I care to admit just to laugh my butt off.
You guys nailed that intro!!
This popped up in my subscriptions and I literally said, “Hell yes” 😂
Cinema therapy mention from Oak is the crossover that I didn’t knew I need it 💗
haha, great intro! 😁
Ideally, therapists will talk to another professional when they’re experiencing this much anxiety and trauma, but therapists are usually the last ones to seek therapy because they think they should be able to handle anything. That has been my experience anyway.
0:18 oaks little innocent smile is so funny lmaooo
OMG IM SO EXCITED THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE HORROR FILMS EVER
Five MOVIE suggestions
• Antlers
• The Djinn
• No Exit
• Beast
• The Autopsy of Jane Doe
People smiling hello will never be the same again!
Now that you mention it Mason Quinn, yes this does resemble Denzel Washington's "Fallen" movie from 1998
I had the same reaction when A TRAIN showed up. Not sure if I am ready for him to see on other roles.
The Denzel Washington and John Goodman movie is fallen 1998
I never thought this was as good as everyone said , truth or dare was much better for me, but still enjoyable ! Definitely do more horrors , sinister is very good horror, evil dead 2013/evil dead rise too are great
I have been waiting with anticipation for this reaction ❤❤❤
The name of the movie Mason Quinn was trying to think of was **"Fallen"** and it's a great movie. Though technically more of a psychological thriller and not a Horror movie, but still and awesome watch. Would love you all to do a reaction to it.
If this ever comes comes back to theatres which i doubt it will go watch it this movie is nowhhere near as scary without all the bass and sounds in the theatres i watched this which a bunch of friends and maybe that was apart of it too but when we watched it that scare where shes listening to the recording we like jumped out of our seats and idk how to describe but i felt the sound go threw me and it felt like it moved my body it was a really scary and weird feeling but at home its not as scary and it rly brings down the experiance
I love yall reactions
A surprise for my notifications! And a surprisingly good horror film. What I love-hate about this film is how insensitive and harsh everyone is to the main character when it came to her mental health. And how The Smile is just so unfair and unrelenting, much like mental illness can be for those who really suffer from it.
It feeds on their trauma.
First!! lol great and reasonable reaction as always guys can’t wait till the next one!
There’s another one?
Love the clever intro 😂
Yall gotta watch The Invisible Man 🔥🤝🏾
You're thinking about Fallen with Denzel, great movie.
Fallen is the movie with Denzel and John Goodman.
I was surprised by this movie, I don't normally care for horror, did unexpected things that horror movies typically did. But then the ending... they did was the usual instead of something new. But still a surprisingly good movie
Don't know if anyone's said this, but I think it was hallucinations, not dream sequences, in most scenes. Also, Fallen was the Denzel movie.
As Above So Below
great movie, check it out, it was really good
Working as a therapist myself, the most unrealistic thing about this movie is a therapist getting time off because they were working too many hours.
30:51 "which doctor " lmaooo
