I really can’t believe this is where they’re at with him. If they don’t pay him, I might have to seriously consider how much time and mental energy I spend on this team going forward. And I’ve been a fan since 1976. This is comical.
I've been a fan since '71. When the Sixers were geniuses and traded Barkley I put the Sixers and followed Barkley. I will do the same thing with Tua. He did everything they asked of them.
Reason, the Dolphins since 1995, are the most stubborn franchise in sports. Unfortunately IF the dolphins won't pay him 50ish million they definitely aren't paying 60ish million. But I think if a deal doesn't get done by the start of the season, then it ends badly for Miami and Tua. Tua is sick of being trashed by the media, getting overlooked by other qb's, and already disrespected once by Miami and Flo, had to brush that off and I don't think he nor his family are willing to be disrespected a 2nd time by his own team!
Ugh! I've always been supportive of the Dolphins front office, or at least tried. Tua's contract situation makes it extremely difficult to stay the course. I understand that each side is looking to gain or hold leverage. At the end of the day it's business. BUT, by the time training camp rolls around, it becomes a TEAM issue. Not just because the offense is losing reps with their QB1, but it sends an extremely poor message to the rest of the team, and potential future FA signings. It's almost as if they are willing to say "F*** it" to everything if Tua doesn't accept their number. How is that reasonable? This is the one position you can't afford to screw up! Most of us know that the 2025 draft class is weak, and the 2025 FA QB class is mostly nonexistent. Forgive me, brothers and sisters, but if our team screws thus up, and lets Tua walk. I'm DONE
I'm looking forward for the dolphins to release Tua so the dolphins can look back at the lost they have created.... all awhile, Tua is with a team that appreciate his skill level and their team is hitting on ALL CYLINDERS!
Sorry Darlington, but you didn't sell me on that report. In his conversations, the Dolphins aren't offering close to the market deals, but no no I don't know the numbers?? Umm whatever. And he also said that the Dolphins COULD say they're not doing a deal like Goff and Lawrence, and that's different from the Dolphins DID say they're not offering a market deals. I get the sense that these reporters don't really know where things are, but need something to say on these shows. Not sold. No way around it. They have to pay Tua, because he's NOT playing without a market deals. Ain't happening. No way Tua plays a snap this season making less than T Lawrence and J Love when he has more WINS than both of them combined. And due to face both of them this season. Tua WILL NOT be in either of those games without a deal. Grier and Shore have to know that. It'll get done.
I hope so but they always screw us with good players. They always screw us over. We are finally looking like contender's again and I can't imagine having to start over with a new QB. We will be bad again for many years
The message is so bad, and now we know that they never did believe in Tua. Either trade Tua or pay the damn money. They are risking the morale of this team, it's embarrassing.
What morale? Has Tua won a playoff game yet? Two years straight they can’t win in December and part of the blame in on Tua not just the defense. They can’t beat the Bills and some of the blame is on Tua again! I’m a Dolphins fan and I like Tua’s accuracy but he doesn’t come through in clutch moments
It's best that Tua don't show up for training camp, and let Mike White and Skyler battle it out out for number 1. Tua can sit and wait for teams willing to pay 60 to 70 plus million per year.
Reason, you were preaching to the choir of one (me). But thanks for pointing out that Shore might have more power than Grier, because to this point, I like the work Grier’s done this offseason, even if they took their sweet time with Waddle. To give one example, they signed Calais Campbell for pocket change. But part of players wanting to play in Miami is they have a great offense, and it’s BS that it’s all scheme and weapons, because why did McVay want Stafford, and why did Shanahan replace Garoppolo? And the alternative of drafting a QB next year is a crapshoot, because first round QBs bust regularly, like Zach Wilson, Lance, Fields, Jones, Pickett, possibly Bryce Young, and probably one or two from this year’s draft, and as you pointed out, QBs who excel in year 1 like Purdy and Stroud are exceptions.
I just want to know plan B . Say what you like about Tua you are entitled to like or hate him . But name someone who will be available to replace him. We all pray we go deep into play offs so another late first round pick . Not good for a team without a QB. Please just give me some idea of a plan B if not sign him ASAP
What would happen if they decided to play out his 5th year option? I'm assuming several things can and will happen. Problem is he has probably the best weapons in the NFL and definitely the fastest offense in the league. Baring injury TUA Will be in the top five in touchdown throws and yardage throw when the football. He's got a quick release He's accurate and he's got speed on his side. Dolphins better not gamble
They didn’t wanna show loyalty if they did they would’ve done it in the beginning. They was hoping that was going to drive his price down now it has backfired.

I agree with Wilkins not getting paid that$$$, but Tua has done everything they asked of him. He's gone toe to toe with the best and should have beaten them at least once if not for his own mistakes And the mistakes of his teammates.
