What Ive always wanted from a cooking show is seeing the chef out in the woods with an expert harvesting themselves. Amazing concept that I cant get enough of.
"Kind of feels like a roasted marshmallow. Lets hope it tastes like one."
The first ep of survivorman! Temagami Les Pukes his brains out moments later. (ACtualy I believe he tries to boil them in his hat after roasting them first). Such a good episode.
All I can say is.. You guys are obviously also true fans.
“Last time I ate that I think I threw up.”
Yes and I think I remember the episode. It was too late in the season, you boiled the pieces in your hat with hot rocks, you hadn’t eaten in three days, and I seem to remember the word “acrid” or “acid” right before you threw up.
I threw up coconut. Still have an aversion. Smell yuck and now it's in everything. Double yuck.
Love and support all les stroud
Les, you’ve come up with the most unique and special “cooking show” I’ve ever seen. Seriously, I think this is going to inspire so many people and change so many perspectives. You’re truly doing your part to make this world a better place. 🙌
He's already inspired me to go out to my dad's when the time is right and harvest wild blackberries, plums and mustang grapes. I want to so badly to know what other plants are on his property that can be used
Mother Nature brings so much peace to the soul!
never seen a better series on cooking wild like this. Thanks Les and Paul
Can't get enough of Les' Wild Harvest!
I have loved les since i was in high-school.since day one of survivorman.he is probably the single reason i got into survjval in the first place.
Thank you les for being a awesome human for half my damn life now
The white-throated sparrow in the background was nothing short of majestic.
I missed it. Where was it?
My hands down favorite part of this series is watching it adapt from “you do this, I do that” into a mutual learning experience
Loved it, it's interesting to see the evolution throughout 10 episodes, Kevin found the right pace between music and silence, more confident with the editing and filmmaking, the chemistry between Paul and Les is better...etc
As always the production values are just out of this world! Even more amazing is the fact of how small the production team is to pull off such depth.
I love the way you explain everything and how you both talk about the plants and tastes. It makes me feel like I'm there and can almost taste it.
i yipped when i saw this video uploaded! probably my favorite series that you've done, Les. im a big fan of everything ya do, but this is just a unique and fantastic show.
hats off to you and chef Paul
Wild harvesting is a lost art, thank fully we have UA-cam and Survivorman. Les it's good to see your video's always! Thank you!
This is an incredible show Les, thank you. Music, cinematography, the production… ❤️

Another great episode to watch!
I enjoy everything you create. Keep up the good work!
Good stuff. Enjoyed another great episode. There's so much to learn. I appreciate the show a lot.
Makes me so happy you are a chocolate lab fan. Love them!
That book 'edible and medicinal plants of canada' is worth its weight in gold. One of my favs.
Great presentation on more difficult edible plants that are not easily palatable..This time Les/Paul with can see your distaste.Chef Paul invents a great tasting dish, love to see your ground work on paper..You certainly have the landscape views, wildlife at heart, taking it to new levels with what you own, use .Congrats again 😆📿
I cherish these episodes
This is just amazing and keeps getting better every episode! Thank you all so much!
We need more bigfoot Les! 🦧🦍
It was really cool seeing that you have the same book I've had for years. That book is awesome.
Love your content and your actual show. You are truly a wealth of information and inspiration to many of us. Keep up the amazing work and please dont retire anytime soon
10th episode in on my binge! wonderful show! Ill watch the rest later.
I'm hooked. I'd love to try making a feast like this.
You two are fantastic working together, with each others skills. I love this, and Les, you have the best music in all of your videos. Thank you so much.
And just like that I'm hooked.
This series will eventually blow up so big it won't even be funny. Mark my words, within 6 years, this series will be watched by hundreds of thousands if not millions.
Incredible as always Mr. Stroud. You and chef Paul are an amazingingly unique duo.
I can't get enough les wild harvest tysm to the too Paul :)
Another winning episode...learning more with each one, primarily how there are ingredients around that you would never consider...keep them coming!
This deserves millions of views
So freeking clever, im inspired! Today ill work in my garden, get a fire going in my fireplace, and cook something fresh and nutritious. ❤
The Beaver Hat is awesome!...Love the episode!
Nice upgrade on the intro finally got enough footage it's beautiful beautiful doing a fantastic job man I look forward to this every week thanks I appreciate you
Les, I love that you look at wild edible vegetation! I'm very passionate about wild food/medicals. I've been foraging, processing and eating wild edibles for over 35yrs. Thank you so much!
Really good show, great concept les
(HERBS AND SPICES) I can pack 3 weeks of food rations when I head-out (yes, I often go out for 3 weeks, or more, at a time into the backcountry), which is actually not a lot of food. That means if I want to eat more, or better, I have to get something.
But whether I get something or bring something, a nice little selection of herbs and spices ALWAYS makes a difference. I like Paul's box of spices, though that's far more than I would bring, even on one of my outings.
Even with something like RATTLESNAKE, they make a huge difference!! I have TWO favorite recipes: "Snake soup" and "Rattlesnake on rice". The soup is kind of like a fine, meat-based miso, and the other one is a spicy-hot dish (it HAS to have a bite, it is rattlesnake after all 😜 ).
So ready for this , wild recipes !!!!!!!
Yayyyyyyyyyyyy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MY. CHICKEN SCRATCH AND POKE BAG ARE READY
thanks les ,keep up the great work everyone ♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆
Thank you for these!
Love it Les 😊
An excellent show getting even better!
Keep it up I love this!
Hello Les from Canada light…lol (Minnesota) great episode
Yeah thanks Paul as well almost forgot to mention you... You guys are doing a fantastic job the editing looks great...
I look forward to each new episode!
Thankyou ❤ my first episode.
I am taking your advice and have found a local expert who is holding wild edible late summer classes. So excited Les and Ive learned already a lot from you and chef Paul. This is what I want to know about and learn about. Last year I gather black walnuts and processed tons of them, still have them too. But I can't wait to go beyond and learn other edibles and your advice is right on time.
Awesome!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Really enjoying these, Les. Great editing and score, too. Quality work.
This is top tier production. Even from you. Great work Les.
I just wanted to say I really enjoy this series. Forging for wild edibles is one of my hobbies. I haven't really experimented much with wild edibles but it's really neat to see that with a little work and ingenuity you can create a really great meal. I live on the Eastern side of the Cascades in Washington State sage brush land. but in the springtime I have many wild edibles right in my backyard like arrowleaf balsamroot, biscuit root, yarrow, waterleaf, wild Onion, spring beauty, dandelion, And pineapple weed which is one of my favorites for tea. Maybe this is just wishful thinking but I'd like to see what you could come up with using these ingredients.
I really like your spice containers in the box. I will have to do that.
Yes I live in Southwestern Pennsylvania period I would love for you to come and do a wild harvest in our woods.
Another great episode of wild harvest. I would imagine some of that saltiness is coming from the table spoon or so of soy he added to the dish tho hidden as an umami component. Would love to try it. :) keep up the good work
Thanks so much for posting these Les! I just love watching them - look forward to a new one every weekend! I would also buy the DVD but it's not on your website yet. And I want Chef Paul's knife but can't buy it yet !!!
My favourite wild edible that I ever collected was black lip abalone off the breakwater in my town in Australia. Just needed a mask and snorkel. Numbers are coming back but you have to catch them in a non-protected area here and a lot of tourists get caught taking from the marine reserve. (Locals get caught too). We have some kind of tall species of 'Razor grass'... a type of reed. It's possible it has been a bush food and I hadn't known it. (when we were kids we tried pulling some up and cut our hands on the sharp grass blades.)
Les Stroud- if you manage to find Fireweed, can you guys do something with it? I've been very interested in it. It's growing very prolific right now (along with the goldenrod) in Oregon. It grows in Canada as well. You can make teas and jams with it, you can eat its shoots like asparagus. I think Chef John would have a great time with it.
Also, Fireweed Honey is considered the 'champagne' of honeys because it's actually spicy, in an herbal sense!
Great stuff, I remember the episode where you puked eating the root, also is that not the same canoe you found in Temagami bug season episode?
wonder if deep frying the lilly heart would work like you would do with a morale to changed the texture
Pond lily tubers, I recall Les's not good experience with them in his celebrated Survivorman series.
Remember that scene from Forrest Gump where Bubba gives all the way to prepare/cook/present Shrimp?! I think Les can do the same with Cat tails 🤔😬
I love your show and have been a long time follower of survivorman I have learned. I've learned so much and I was wondering I live, I I live in the desert Southwest in the Mojave desert in Carlsbad New Mexico along the Pecos River valley I love camping and fishing and was wondering what kind of wild harvest would be best in this harsh environment. Anytime get back to me and I'll let you know just how harsh this area is if you don't already know which I pretty sure you do. But I would love to know what kind of wild harvest would be good for the Southeastern New Mexico Pecos valley along the Pecos River. Thank you
I remember when those tubers and the oysters from Mexico tore your gut up really bad. Great show!!!
The Soundtrack is amazing at 17:00 ! Could you share the name of it pls, Les?
I'll show ya my house/yard. I live in the woods of western PA! Come on down!
Have you harvested wild rice would like to see it harvested and added to a meal
Hello Les. I myself managed to collect a fare amount of cattail pollen. Yet I found it to be heavily contaminated with gnats and their larva. So if you could share with us how you filter out the contaminates. Thank you in advance.
Just wondering how this is a premiere when it was released over a year ago. Other than that I have never seen any of the wild harvest episodes and really enjoy these episodes.
Premiering to UA-cam
Premiere let's live chat happen and allows Les to be in on that live chat if he wishes
les paul
The chef use soy souse in the dish and soy souse is salty, right?
Does Kevin have to do the dishes afterwards?
Les, Did you play the guitar in the video?
👁
Les what book were you using at 10:30?
Can you come on the Joe Rogans show? Ask him I bet he’d be so happy to oblige.
THE REAL CHAMP IS THE DOGGY!
I hate to tell you this but,,,you died March 2010 of hypothermia. Google your name. Then just put in your name. Then are you alive? Also a jaguar chased you and you were running and had a heart attack. Because of dehydration. WHAT WAY WOULD YOU RATHER GO? I think you lived through the jaguar think. LOVE YOUR SHOWS. You've helped me get threw the whole ick thing.
I love you man but there are so many plants. Please tell me no more cattails for season 2? Please..lol for the love of god. And then use less store bought stuff jeezzzz. Might as well call the show "kitchen full fridge with a hint of cattail" lol
