I worked on the pleasure beach during and after Valhalla’s construction and completion. As staff, we were allowed to ride it (once all the rigorous safety testing had been made) before the public. I was lucky enough to have that privilege and rode it during my break. I fell in love with the ride immediately. Then we had the most amazing opening, with Johnathan Ross, his wife, Mr Thompson, the daily star, a huge fireworks 🧨 display. It was fantastic. 20 years on, and this is still my ultimate favourite ride, by far. I now have teenage kids who too love the ride. It doesn’t matter how many times I have ridden it, over the past 20 years, and I have ridden it a lot, that first drop still gets me, every single time. I was so gutted that it is closed for refurbishment this season. I have never visited the park, over the last 19 years (can’t count this year as it was closed) and never ridden it. Especially when I ride it multiple times throughout the day.
The part that says please don't lean forward is the worst because what if you do, the drop is massive as well and the fire makes it boiling 😂 I've been on there and it's really good 👌🏻
I went in august with my family and I loved this ride! I went on it twice! In may next years I'm going with a friend on holiday to Blackpool and I'm so excited to go back on this ride!!!! 🔥😍❤️

Depends really, they keep the top half dry but the bottom half soaked since the water fills up in the boat. They are slightly pricey and depends how tall you are but they typically usually lift up on the drops and are practically useless.

This ride has been and always will be the best water ride anywhere. The soundtrack, the theme, the effects, everthing is visually stunning. I will admit the effects can be very unreliable and that goes for the ride too but it is going to be considering the amount of money that it costs to run and update it. For people complaining about how soaked you get, well it's a water ride for starters what were you expecting and the fact that it warns you that you'll get drenched. The only complaint I can understand about this ride is that before it even starts the boats are filled with quite a bit of water which causes your feet to become soggy and wet all the way through. Upon saying that the boats constantly move and so there isn't really any time to drain the water out. They try there best but you got to give them credit for managing that ride when its heaving in summer
I'd love to go back 15 or so years when all the effects were in operation and the ride still felt current. Looking forward to the reimagination this year.
My opinion is that its amazing and love the attention to detail how it goes through seasons and I personally think the second drop isn't steep cos I have been on a steeper drop x
As a family we love theme parks and go fairly regularly. This is one of the best rides agreed by all of us. It has a bit of everything & oh my God you get wet! Highly recommended! Enjoy!

Absolutely! I was five when valhalla opened and rode it in that week. While the drops are a bit steep there's no lurch at the end to knock you out of your seat as the water breaks the landing. Hope you enjoy it!
Blimey, you can tell this is Blackpool. The guy at 0:23 has the exact same backpack as me. Probably got it from Sports Direct in town. xD Anyway, this ride is great fun. Must have done it four or fives times, sometimes one after another. There's one part where you get blasted by air and I was struggling to breathe properly from lack of preparation.

Let me ask it and see if you can :) I am an animatronics enthusiast, and recently discovered that at one time, there was an animatronic show at Pleasure Beach called 'The Hard Luck Bears'. They were basically some large moving bears singing songs on a stage. There is very little information about them on the internet, and me and some friends are trying our very best to get information about them. Do you remember seeing them in the park anywhere at any time, and if you do, do you know anything such as where in the park they were? Thanks in advance :)
To be honest, I have seen some strange things appear at Pleasure Beach over the years and probably come across your Hard Luck Bears, but not as I can remember to well. May I suggest that you contact the Pleasure Beach and ask the question. I'm sure they would be only too glad to share any information they have with you regarding the creatures and probably they know better than anybody ! Hope this helps .. RIP valhalla. Was meant to reopen last year, Amanda Thompson couldn’t be bothered reopening it last year, was meant to reopen summer 2022 yet again she can’t be bothered reopening it. Now I fear it may never reopen again.

The only dark bits on the ride are the lifts, usually it's lit up by lightning or some sort of flashing lights, maybe the cam doesn't capture it
