I have been able to do this for months but yesterday on my business account I can still post it but in the edit section I no longer have access to the edit features. I have an edit button but when I click on it I no longer have the features to edit it other then shortening it. Have you heard of any others with this problem?

@@AnitaWong It's long story Anita, it all started when my FB got hacked and when I recovered my FB, my business account was restricted. I am trying to get my account unrestricted but it affected my IG professional account too. So I am just going to switch everything back to personal mode for now until Meta resolve the issue. Thanks Anita. What about multiple videos or videos with photos in the post too? I think some people have had their videos cut down to 1:00 or 1:30 in length if they change the aspect size of the video as well 🤔
The video won’t be cut down as long as you upload as a post and not a reel. It will automatically be shown in the reel feed but it won’t be an official reel as such

Something changed in the past day. This used to be the correct method but now no matter what it is chopping posts to one minute, reels still 90 sec. I wonder if its a shadowban type feature for accts that allegedly violate their TOS?
Don’t think it’s a shadow ban. You can’t violate instagrams T&Cs when longer videos are allowed. Maybe IG is having an update and rolling something out 🤷♀️
UGH! This is sooooo frustrating. Had a new long video to post today and it won't let me as this method no longer works. 😒👎.

Hmm I think when it’s a longer video, you can edit it as you’re adding the video as a ‘post’

Unfortunately this is not working anymore... At least for me. I try to do as you say, but from the Post option is now only letting me trim it. The rest of edit options do not appear anymore. Could it be because my fb/IG accounts are not synchronised? Thanks!

Sorry it should work however Instagram has just added an increase of up to 3 minutes to the upload within reels. It should still work as a post for longer.

I had one question that would be great if you could help me with.
I am uploading a 2 minute video. When I upload it as a reel it is of a significantly higher quality but limited to 90 seconds.
When I upload it as a post I am able to put up the 2 minute video but there is a significant drop in quality and the video is also appearing a little darker.
What could be the reason for that? Thank you!
It maybe the server that its uploaded to. Instagram has just launched a 3 minute Reels option as well, so be sure to update your app to see if you have that option

Profile display option is not showing in the app at all for me. Just to answer your question ahead of time, yes, I tried to upload it as a post, not a reel. Still did not work

Why can’t I find “profile display” once I’m trying to post the video
I am just learning Instagram. Mine does not have the option to reel and main. It has Tag people, Tag products, add message button and so on....thoughts?
Hi Karen, the reel option is at the beginning when you go to upload your video. You can go to your profile page and then there should be a + sign at the top right hand side, click that and you will see the option to add a Reel. Also, make sure you have updated your app in the App or playstore depending on the phone you have. Hope this helps. Anita

I don’t have the button for profile display, what to do?
When I try this and get to "add audio" moment, I get a screen message that says "only videos that are 90 seconds or shorter can add audio."
UPDATE: I was able to add music, but the music cuts off at 90 seconds while the video continues without music.
@@Gary_Jaffe Yes, unfortunately, if you want to add music to longer videos, I'd suggest doing it in Capcut or another video editor first ☺

Mine are still uploading with 90 seconds only. I used to be able to upload longer videos before, but now I can’t. 🥴
My wife’s videos are constantly uploading significantly shorter than the actual video. So her videos all upload at 45 seconds to 1 minute when they are several minutes long
Make sure you’re uploading them under the ‘post’ tab not the reels tab
Great if it's from your phone. How do you post off your camera though? I'm having to spend hours scrolling through videos, trying to work it out. This is what I don't like about Instagram it's such a pfaff if you use a vlogging camera & not a phone.
You can upload on the desktop however you could add your video to Dropbox, download to camera roll and upload from there. Once uploaded. Delete from your phone
Good video, but doesn’t negate the issue of any music track being only 90 seconds only! Any way to get around this?

I have been trying to post a 20-min long video on my feed. Tried different orientations 9:16 > 16:9, and even compressed it to less than 1 GB, but it isn't getting posted. Shows me the whole progress bar but in the end it fails. Can someone help me over here?
Ahh sometimes it’s WiFi, size of video but should be able to do 15-20. Time to upload to UA-cam 🤷♀️
Does not work. Only allows trim for longer videos. No edit function. Maybe you should include info about the type of account you have because it definitely doesn’t work for me.

ok, it will try to crop but you just have to drag the end of the crop screen over more.
