- Joan Gieson was one of three dear confidants who ministered with Kathryn Kuhlman in the late 1960s and early 1970s, till the time of Kathryn's passage in February 1976. Joan was actually cued in personally by Kathryn that she was to keep a scheduled service in St. Louis that Kathryn would be unable to conduct because of her home-going. Kathryn stated to Joan, "Joan, the next service (in St. Louis) is yours". What an honor to be called upon for such a heavenly duty by God's General; Joan was so deeply touched.

Dont know if anyone can help me , but I will tell you how I heard of her. In 1984 ,I didn't know who she was , I was working in a record store, in Birmingham Alabama .At that time a man in a suit came in the store a handed me a cassette tape, and said listen to this ! And turn and walked out , I was living in sin , put it in pocket, it was a mouth later , when I hit bottom in my life. I cried out to God for help, and the thought came and I searched everything to find this tape,I played it what seemed like 30 times , I heard her talk about her relationship with the Holy Spirit, her voice compelled me to want what she had , I prayed and said God ,if you'll fill me with the Holy Spirit, like this woman, I never have to be like this again!!! I had no idea what I was asking , never heard of Kathryn kuhlman, but what happened next changed my life forever!!! If anyone gets this message, I'll tell this unbelievable story, iam not sure how old this post is???

I took ill after many many revivals in 2005 & in 2006 was told I have cancer but never missed a church service & was anointed & prayed over every service I lost 85 pounds and did not eat for 12 weeks or drink water ect. Had IV's to live but in 2007 after no longer driving a car or able to preach for all this time had a OBE in my bedroom and cloud see my body & felt wonderful but when I come back into my body I was healed 100%%%%%%%% of cancer & started eating & been well ever since. I was told I had a 95% chance I would never be able to preach again but been nonstop & fly everywhere doing healing services. God is so faithful. Been in the Pentecostal Church since 10 years old and now 67.

That is one thing Kathryn stressed, regarding never letting the Holy Spirit become commonplace to a point where we take Him for granted, or that His miracle become trite. One thing I have to say, that I caught when Joan was talking about the "sinner's prayer" she prayed. She said she prayed "Forgive me for my sins." One thing we have to remember is Jesus forgave us for our sins when he died on the cross and purchased our pardon! It is more like we are receiving and accepting his forgiveness, when we come to him! Repentance though, that is another thing, where you actually stop doing what you were doing.
Absolutely right! It's not so much about any particular sin in one's life, as it is acknowledging one's sinflessness and helplessness before God, and repenting of the one great sin of humanity --- and that is the rejection of God's one and only Son, Yeshua Jesus Christ. And then one must accept His great sacrifice once for all.

Kathryn was not a proponent of the word-of-faith theology, and emphasized the sovereignty of God with respect to divine healing. Be careful with hyper-confession. It's a principle of the New Age. Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritan. Our salvation has to match-up with the scriptures and no scriptures on the subject can be taken away. Ephesians 2:20, We are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone. Don't get Titus 3:5 mixed up with James 2:14-26, about WORKS. One is a WORK of your OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS OR GOOD DEEDS and the other is a WORK OF FAITH, Obedience to God's command. God told Noah to build an ark to be saved.
