  • Ever had one of those stubborn DIP chips that wouldn't come out?
    Try sliding a thin ziptie between the chip and PCB. Now you can grab the ziptie and LIGHTLY pull while heating the chip.

    How do you plan removing solder from the holes, prior to inserting the replacement chip? FGS just spend $3 on the proper tool.

      I used a solder sucker pump just a few moments prior to it. FGS? What tool is only 3 dollars?

    You'll damage the board over time with excess heat. All professional engineers have and use solder suckers - they're cheap yet effective.
    Modern soldering stations often have them integrated too, esp when located in repair or manufacturing facilities. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
