Calorum was probably one of my favourite homebrew settings to watch. The cast have talked about how nerve-racking it was to play in such a high stakes, high mortality rate game, but this wacky world made of food people politics and bizarre low-magic mythology is actually one of the most exciting and engaging things to watch. I was obsessed with the idea of this food-people world for too many weeks after the finale of this game, and cannot wait to revisit it in the Ravening War game run by Matt Mercer

Crown of Candy was mine and my husbands first intro to dimension 20 after falling in love with most of the cast via Um Actually and Game Changer. It was so goddamn amazing. We've started making our way through all the D20 seasons now, and this is still our fave.
my favorite is personally starstruck odyssey, but that could just be the timing of it. it's so goofy and they all play super well, they talk in the adventuring parties about how this is how they should've played in acoc, not the goofy joking season, it's very funny. it's also got some killer moments, but i wont spoil

Calroy wanted a puppet, if you notice, Cal does a lot of things, and is one of Amethars greatest “advisors” when he’s actually including the king, then he can kill amethar in an “accident” then he can say the heirs are illegitimate or say there unfit to rule. Crazy to me that we didn’t get a second season of this. It was so good and creative. The potential or uprisings in a second season seemed so possible. Feels like a missed opportunity to have not done one
To be fair, they could very likely be planning on continuing, but from both observation and what they've said, this season was so incredibly taxing emotionally and mentally, it would probably be a while. Even in combat, I think either Ally or Siobhan mentioned that every battle took way longer than the episode length because combat decisions were so hard this season. Everyone had to make the best possible play, in every single situation, just to survive. Compared to normal D&D that's got to be super difficult.

11:33 -- man, up to a certain point I really feel for Plumbeline; out of all the antagonists, she does have a *super* legitimate grievance. The Concord's only been around for twenty years, so unless she's literally Jet and Ruby's age her father *already had* a living heir at the time he signed on for an agreement that made him emperor at the cost of locking his children out of the line of succession. Regardless of how you feel about hereditary primogeniture, I'm not sure it's reasonable to expect her to be cool with that, especially after her father nominated one of his -- with love -- aging himbo war buddies instead. It's not really a good system. (It's not even stupider than some of the wildly impractical succession schemes actual real life humans have come up with, but it's not good.)
It's even crazier when you figure his first wife was dead, and he COULD'VE just said he was married to Carmelinda, and it would've been true, not only thwarting the attempt at excommunication, but also turning public opinion on the church in Candia's favor. Amethar got his family into this mess, not because of his mistakes, but because of his honesty, and his very specific wording.

I honestly think that Lapan pulling his church status to arrest Alfredi (with an assist from Theo) is one of the smartest, clutchest moves I've ever seen in a D&D game. There were several this season (Liam's Detect Poison and Theo's Knock come to mind) but Brennan's reaction after Lapan's interrogation of Keradin is incredible. Pretending to be in on the plan to get him to squeal, only to immediately pull rank (and with Theo's mild intimidation/humiliation) and start ordering the guards around is perfection. I really want to see Zac play more intelligent, scheming characters like Lapan, he really shines

There were several this season (Liam's Detect Poison and Theo's Knock come to mind) but Brennan's reaction after Lapan's interrogation of Keradin is incredible. Pretending to be in on the plan to get him to squeal, only to immediately pull rank (and with Theo's mild intimidation/humiliation) and start ordering the guards around is perfection. I really want to see Zac play more intelligent, scheming characters like Lapan, he really shines
