    One thing about Michael is the calmness. The indifference to what’s happening around him, yet the unbelievable awareness he has simultaneously. The guy who can pretty much sneak into any house undetected and brutally murder everyone, smart enough to outsmart fully grown men and woman while being locked away for 40 years (DGG timeline). But also being able to shrug off life threatening blows, undeterred when being caught and confronted by like 30 ppl. YET STILL being able to get up after being beaten (that would have easily killed any other person) and take out those 30 people full strength. Like the ending or not but he is truly an unpredictable character.

      He is also fireproof in most timelines yet recent director claims he is not supernatural. It is strange as he made Michael escept a burning building whilst trapped and the rest. That fight could have been a full on fight which would have made Myers look more formiddable. Instead it looked like he was using the speed force to take them out. Worst slow motion I have seen in a film. Disappointing as it could have been really good.

      Bruh he only killed 11 people in that scene let’s not over exaggerate. Lastly those townies who beat him had him down, they could of kept going but for plots sake they all literally watched him get up and kill them all 1 by 1 lmfao such a horrible movie. If it wasn’t for plot those townies could of just tied him up when he was knocked out and buried him alive, problem solved!!!!

      Let's not forget the house fire. He was in there breathing smoke for what, 6-10 mins until the firefighters got there. Yes he was behind that roll up door, but my uncle has the same door in his basement where he keeps most of his guns. Those doors have like a half inch to an inch gap all the way around, and no door is air tight in a home anyway. After about 30 seconds to a minute anything on Earth would be killed, he just stood there until the fire men got there. People always try to tell me he's just a guy lolol.

    Michael very rarely overreacts to situations with huge pressure on him.Myers' calm and emotionless approach in critical situations knocks his opponents out of kalia.But the most important thing is that his emotionlessness helps him cope with danger and go for a break on his enemy.Naturally, Myers was not born with such psychological problems, he came to this behavior because of the great stress he was subjected to from the age of two to six.When the situation is more stressful for a person, he can get psychological trauma and while a person wakes up calm under pressure, he also wakes up to use destructive defense mechanisms to cope with these situations.
    For example, Michael ignores Loomis when he tries to talk to him, when he asks him questions, hoping that Myers will answer.But Michael knows that if he reacts to the doctor's words, he will be able to manipulate him, and Michael does not need it.
    Michael is also dominant and manipulative. He always likes to control the situation, people or his enemies. His cold behavior, emotionless, makes people horrified and make them think that he is not a person.After all, a person is so arranged, if he sees a person who behaves strangely or even ominously, then immediately there is fear and not understanding what is happening and questions are created in his head: "Why is he silent when I threaten him with a knife?" Why isn't he scared and running away, because I want to shoot him?"Why is he wearing a mask?" or "Why is she walking so strangely?" "Why is her hair covering her face?" "She looks at me leeringly, why?What does she want?"Why is this man standing outside my door for the third hour?"And Michael knows this, he knows that it is not human behavior that will frighten and make a person scream and arrive in a panic, and this is in the hands of a maniac, because if the victim is in a panic, she cannot think normally and defend herself, which means she can be controlled and killed.
    Michael is also very patient and this is another plus in his personality, he is mentally tough and can withstand any pressure, unlike an ordinary person. He waits and studies his victim, which gives him a complete picture of who he is hunting and as soon as all the puzzles are collected, Michael can attack and crush his victim, with his cold and emotionless personality.

    The scene in Halloween 2018 when the reporter pulled out the mask at the mental hospital backyard and other patients started reacting nervously to it was extremely powerful to the franchise. It suggested that the mask is more than just a mask.
    Halloween Ends sort of proved it when the kid took Michael's mask and then he went full blown psycho killer

    • @FredCracklin
      @FredCracklin Рік тому +22

      Honestly I thought the opposite it was a very goofy and unrealistic view of mental patients and made the scene feel almost comical as a result. I have known several people in a bad enough state to be housed in a mental hospital or the psychiatric ward of a normal hospital and so have spent a good amount of time in such places over the past 25 years and honestly many of the severe patients (which Smith's Grove would house) are closer to that scene in The Exorcist where Father Karras visits his mother in the hospital but plenty of others can blend in well enough with the average person a good amount of the time where if you didn't know them on a more personal level you would not know the severity of their issues. The scene in H:40/H'18 reminded me of what you'd see in something like New Year's Evil with the patients acting like over the top caricatures (never mind them even knowing what the mask was).

      I also like this scene a lot but for me the mask is for Michael Meyers what Batman is for Bruce Wayne a very powerful symbol. The fact that crazy guys reacted to the mask for me it meant that the mask was full of energy from what happened in the past and the crazy people could detect it. But also could be that the mask became cursed after the halloween night at 70’s and then crazy guys could detect it.

I always wondered what would happen if people actually teamed up and outnumbered him with brute force, thereby eliminating his most lethal method by killing undetected. Multiple blunt force trauma was applied to most of his upper body, including close range pistol fire, and a direct kick to the face. NONE of that could kill him lol

    I disagreed that making him really tall added to the fear. That just made him a big hulking brute, like Jason, which I don't think he is. He should remain 5"10 to 6". Because I've always preferred him to be average-ish sized.
    I think he's definitely a supernatural being. In the first film, he already displays impossible strength and survived injuries that definitely should have killed him. In the second, he wrote "Samhein" (not sure if that's spelt right) on the wall in blood, which hints towards demon possession. His unkillability and impossible strength increases increases with time.
    Although catatonic schizophrenia night work as an explanation, my head canon is that it's because he's possessed and the demon sort of remote controls him a little awkwardly. But the real reason is most likely because it's more foreboding and less human.

    Myers doesn't run for two reasons: First he'd look rather silly running around in that getup. Second, everything we've seen regarding Myers in nearly every movie in the franchise, across all its iterations, is that his pattern is to set up traps for his main targets and patiently waits for them to enter therein. Once the trap is sprung, even if the hapless victims run away, he doesn't have to run after them because he knows they have few or no other places to run except right where he wants them, and he can afford to take his time strolling calmly after them. Don't read too much into the movies trying to diagnose the character.

    Michael Myers doesn't have Catatonic Schizophrenia. He is possessed by something called "The Shape." It's why he sat still as a boy, and he even mentioned hearing voices that make him hate others. Those voices come from The Shape, which is why he kills.
    He has a supernatural ability to sense his victims and The Shape guides him as he pursues them. He has no need to chase them because The Shape reassures him he will get them and guides him to infiltrate their homes or take pathways that put him in close proximity with victims. The Shape can infect others, as seen in Halloween Ends.

      Where’d you get this info from? The “shape” is just one of his nicknames, the same way he’s been called the boogeyman multiple times. He’s called that because his presence is supposed to be indescribable and mysterious, hence why he’s normally seen lurking in the shadows before he kills someone. Michael isn’t possessed by anything, that’s a theory. The only logical explanation of why he’s the way he is is cause he’s simply evil, he’s the embodiment and physical “shape” of evil itself. That’s what makes Michael Myers unique compared to most horror icons because he remains a mystery and no one knows his true origin or purpose

    The reason Michael doesn’t run isn’t because he is catatonic, it’s because he knows that when his prey is in complete fear, he has the upper hand, and every time that Michael is about to kill someone and they don’t beg to be spared but they tell him to do it, he tilts his head which causes his brain to scrabble as to why they aren’t begging for their life. Another reason why Michael always tilts his head when he doesn’t understand is because he never really went to school, he killed his sister at 6, was stuck inside of a sanitarium for 15 years, escaped at 21, and just killed and killed and killed, he never learned anything serious about survival. Instead all he did was train himself to be more efficient and brutal. Also another reason is that he was locked away at 6 years old. At around 6 years old you become very impressionable. Since he never truly went school, the only things he knows how to do is kill, stalk, terrorize, and play with his food / chase them around until he kills them, just like cat and mouse which is often used as a saying in kindergarten through 2nd grade.

    Unlike Jason where you can see a being filled with rage who is hyper focused on what he does, Michael may as well be a machine. He has nothing to gauge how he feels, or what he is thinking. Even Jason will eventually react to pain if you hurt him enough. Michael may as well not even register what pain even is, only aware of his physical body being in danger. And that I feel is why it makes him far scarier.

    Yes, he revealed his face in H1. Yes, he IS supernatural. Anyone trying to say otherwise is wrong. Whether he's cursed by Thorn or Samhain or whatever, there's a supernatural power driving him. No one has ever referred to him as The Shape. He's only been credited as that in a couple of the movies. His mask has no power. He's either a possessed human or a hard to kill old man. All of this can be confusing given the half-dozen timelines this franchise has been fractured into at this point.

    Michael Myers is such an iconic horror slasher and a pure force of nature that is seemingly unstoppable. Going off his seemingly decent list of unknown mental disorders, i theorize that that Michael also suffers from a rare physical disorder known as Congenital Insensitivity to Pain With Anhidrosis or CIPA. Anyone who is diagnosed with CIPA is in short...immune to feel pain. Their nervous system makes it impossible for the person with the disorder to feel any sort of physical pain and cannot register pain. The reason i support this is simply due to the fact of how much physical damage Michael endured throughout the series and continued to shrug it off and keep pushing forward without even so much as a grunt of pain.
    CIPA has a draw back in most cases as a person who suffers from it wouldn't actually know when they're injured and wouldn't know when they needed medical attention. But as we see with Michael, he doesn't care about it either way. He will simply continue to push on...this could play into support of the Cationic Schizophrenia theory as well where he doesn't register physical pain and does not seek treatment from others.

    His mask, like other slasher bad guys, is so any physical actor can play him.
    Want to know how to kill him? There's only one way... kill the fans' desire to have him return in film.
    And he's a slasher villain evil of the Micheal Myers type... no real mental condition covers his behavior. That's part of what makes him horrible.
    Decades ago, our circle of Halloween fans discussed it... Michael Myers can short-range teleport nearly anywhere he can physically walk to as soon as nobody can see him to a place nobody is observing. He has been seen running only once, and that was his escape from the "nuthouse" he escaped from in the first movie as a brief blur of action.
    He's also usually about typically madman fiction level strong until the plot needs him to be stronger for the terror factor... then he's as strong as he needs to be. This is typical horror movie bad guy super strength.
    They had to make him supernatural... because even the lowest educated horror fan ever would not buy even the most mind-altered super strong madman could take and recover from the kind of punishment he takes.

    Michael ''The Shape'' Myers works best when you can see him as a literal anybody with a mask honestly. Sure the supernatural unkillable monster story is fun. But Michael works best as a mortal. And i like that they sort of went with that in the new trilogy. I mean, he is an extreme. But he isn't impossible. I think Halloween Kills shows some of the absolute best of Michael. You see consistansy. After losing his fingers he bandages his own hand. He does actually take some care of himself. If he is Evil or not... I mean, yeah he is evil as far as it can be defined. But not doubt it stems from a mental illness of some sort. But i think it's mostly a disconect in ways. I don't think he sees himself as a villain. I think he simply doesn't feel anything either way for anyone. I think in his head he is the only one witht the rest of the world being backround noise with no value. Again, in Kills we see this playfull nature to him when he keeps planting knife after knife after knife into this one dude. It almost seems to fascinate him. Like a kid making magic potions at the dinner table. He just doesn't have any concept of it being wrong. I think the same goes for how he doesn't run. I think it's sort of like a cat. Cats are evil bastards. They will play with small critters, torture them and then kill them and leave them. Cats kill for fun. I think that's sort of what Michael does when he walks after his victims. He has fun.
    And his sense of pain. In the first film we see him activly feel pain as he goes down to very normal human things. Stabbed in the neck or eye makes him go down. He feels pain. But i think it's very possible after Dr. Loomis shot him in the first film, it gave him some kind of nerve damage. Because Michael was shot up bad in that film. Or Maybe Michael sort of just starts to ignore the pain. The Beating he takes in Kills is brutal as hell. But it's pute will that pushes him to go up. I think at that point he is genuinly starting to feel some anger. For the first time he has to fight to stay alive. And it does actually hurt him badly. As we see in Halloween Ends, he starts out as a cripple. Can't even kill one guy. Can hardly defend himself. But he finds motivation when he meets that other guy. Wich i think was mainly just a means to and end. Alltough, in Ends it also seems to sugest that Michael feeds of that dude's energy. I really think it's left open for us to decide. Because Michael is still rather weak at the end of the film when Lorie finaly gets to destroy him.
    The idea of Michael is immortal. But Michael himself was mortal. The way they disposed of him in the end, is more so symbolic. They killed him. But they also destroyed him. I think Michael can be what ever you want him to be. To me Michael is just a guy. A guy that puts no value to human life beyond the joy of taking it. He is sadistic because he simply can't conect with anyone. That makes him far more scary that any other slasher icon. Because he is so simple yet undefined. Jason can be understood rather easily. Freddy is a simple guy really. He is the monster he looks like. Ghostface is a bunch of edgy messed up teens. Leatherface is a retard with multiple personality disorders who's been raised to kill. Michael... He is undefined. But he is a human.

      Not Carpenters Michael. It was hinted in Ends that he’s a vessel for Evil. Pure Evil. Carpenters original intention was that Michael was like an evil wind both human and supernatural. The word demon originally was never used. That’s in the later sequels 4-6, especially 6, with Thorn.
      OG Mike and the new timeline, he’s possessed by an evil spirit basically. His body was falling apart in Ends after the events in Kills which is why he went into hiding in the sewers. The body or vessel was weak and broken down past repair or functionality. The more he kills he transcends you can clearly see that when Mike finally gets a kill in the sewer after being there so long hunched over- he starts shaking and almost powering up. The evils vessel (Michael) was dying so that’s why Corey snapped and was half possessed by the evil as well because he was gearing up to be its next host.
      Part 6 is basically almost the same premise with the Curse of Thorn, the demon correlating with Samhain. To spare a village from this evil spirit of Samhain or demon, the villagers chose one person for it to possess like a sacrifice inflicting him or her with the Curse of Thorn. Mike was the latest host to the Curse. Tommy claims the curse relates to a demon in his explaination of Thorn at the computer.
      I mean it’s a play on words, I suppose on wether this evil spirit or ‘pure evil’ is demonic but the word demon is never used by Carpenter. Pure Evil isn’t necessarily a demon but it can be I guess. There’s many forms of evil. Could be the psychosis that’s in us all which is def the vibe the Zombie Halloween movies take. Traditionally, possession is done by a demon, but not always. But your traditional biblical demon is not what Carpenter had in mind for his original creation.

    • @KingKahn85
      @KingKahn85 Рік тому +1

      @@tayc9542 the new movies purposely left it ambiguous for this very reason. For fans to speculate but if you watch the films there’s def more of a supernatural under tone than not. I already tocuhed upon the fact that his ‘pure evil’ could also be his very psychosis, the evil inside all of us. But there is def more evidence of supernatural occurances throughout the franchise. Rob Zombies version is more the version your implying where he was born kinda fucked up with a fucked up upbringing and his psychosis is the pure evil that everyone is capable of, (especially after being institutionalized for so long). Again like I mentioned. But that’s your opinion.
      But Carpenter himself is quoted in saying: “Michael Myers is not a character. He is a force of nature. He’s not a person. He’s part supernatural, and part human. He’s like the wind, an evil wind.” He says he’s both human and supernatural in his very own quote, the man who created him.
      I don’t think the original version of Michael from ‘78 was born pure evil because prior to him murdering Judith at 6 years old he was a seemingly normal kid with normal parents and a normal household. You can see them when they pull his mask off his face as a boy and say ‘Michael?’ In disbelief. Normal folks. One night on Halloween he snapped and became the Shape. The shape is the name of the pure evil inside of Michael. They are synonymous. Was the evil always there, maybe. Or was the evil somehow introduced and found it’s way, possibly. Corey seemingly took the same mannerisms as Michael/Shape after he grabbed him
      In Ends, like it was a transference of evil.
      If Michael was born an evil fuck then things prior wouldn’t transpire the way it did. It hits home because a normal kid seemingly snapped, out of nowhere and killed his sister. it would be Rob Zombies from the get go otherwise or it would be more like Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer if he was born always an evil kid.

    • @tayc9542
      @tayc9542 Рік тому

      @@KingKahn85 I think the evil was always inside him even prior to Judith’s murder. I think it didn’t fully get released until October 31st 1963 you know. I think it was slowly progressing. Rob Zombie’s is different because he made Michael like a real life serial killer. Showing signs and everything but the original didn’t show anything so you wouldn’t think he would be capable of growing up and become a serial killer unlike the remake. Yes John Carpenter said Michael was part human and part supernatural but when he was talking about how Rbz ruined the character he said “Michael is supposed to be almost supernatural. Before the other sequels came out he confirmed for Halloween 1 and 2 that Michael was human but he had to change his statement multiple times because of the sequels. The series took a turn after 1 and 2 sense he really didn’t have control anymore. But the 2018 timeline brought Michael back to his original roots and brought back the mystique. He is just pure evil, kills for no reason and etc. no explanation on why he is the way he is. I see where you coming from with the supernatural aspect through this timeline but at the end of the day it’s just speculation like you said even tho David Gordon Green debunked all that supernatural bs with 2018 tbh. But Ends left us with more questions then answers
