Very very nice. Wizard. If I remember right they were a Western Auto in house brand. We had a WA in Perrine where I grew up. What an iconic store. Wish we still had them. Motor sounds great. I’m impressed now when I would have laughed as a kid growing up. The big three of that era were Johnson Evinrude Mercury. (Kiekhaefer) All gone on as well. Much respect for watching after history. Keep them around to show the American spirit of yesteryear. Cheers.
I love the way they intentionally slung the engine of the back of the boat. I'm assuming it was designed like that so it easier to fish over the top of it. Really cool outboard.
Yes, me too. Despite the fact that most people think that OMC came up with the idea with their low boy 9.5hp in 1964, McCulloch had it in 1959 and Clark Troller’s came out in 1937 with a similar design!
They are a little funny looking! Love it though. I have started going through a 1960? McCulloch Wizard 12hp. that the original owner purchased and handed down to his son and grandson. Family owned all this time and Free! Really clean with good compression and spark. Needs the 'gear or cog' at the end of throttle linkage. Any thoughts on where to look for parts? I've got the part number, just don't know where to find one. Thanks
What boat is that on? It's about as fast as my 1980 Sea King 15 on my 14 ft Wards semi v hull with a one person and some gear. Seems mighty and fast for a 7.5 horse.
Thing looks amazing!
Thank you. It’s so much work to get them to that point!

Thank you. I do enjoy and appreciate our innovation from that era.

1983 Sea Nymph 12K
Well, its unique for sure. Hmmm, perhaps this thing put crazy ideas into OMC's head...
I believe you are correct; especially with the 9.5.
Where did you find the optional clamp!?
eBay. I bought a few and may be listing one soon.
Had a 7.5 hp Elgin when l was little, my brother and l beat the hell out of that motor, it never failed us
@eldorado1244 for a little engine, they are internally built super tough. Outside…not so much.
How long is the shaft? When you say short, like only 13" short?
I’m not certain, and I sold this engine since this video. If I had to guess I’d say it’s about 1” shorter than the average short shaft.
Me again still love the vids keep up the good work
Thanks, will do, but it’ll be another week or two before I grab some more engines off the rack and run them.
K that s fine just asking what engine would you recommend for a small fishing boat?
What size boat and what would be in it?
carry a bucket when your going wide open fill with water and evac it from the bucket. that will keep the motor cool
I sold this engine.
Какая цена этой красоты?
It’s already sold.
wow 2 mph faster than the johnson, higher revs
Little power house!
Очень интересный мотор у него румпель вниз складывается 😊
Yes it is!
