This is such a delightful aria from "Giulio Cesare" -- and wonderfully delivered here -- Thank you 'UA-cam'
Sarah Connelly is better. voice is more powerful and so is her stage presence
El único Giulio Cesare de Handel el de Sarah Connolly definitivamente, dejó la valla muy alta.
Why does this video have to be cut off abruptly before the end?-Good singing and choreography.
Erik Ralske spitting straight fire...
Where can I find the complete aria or preferably the whole performance? Is it available on cd or dvd?
Grandios!
He has nothing on Sarah Connolly, both vocally & dramatically.
She (Sarah) can be seen in this exact staging on DVD. As much as I have admired Daniels, Sarah acts and sings this role much, much, better.
I enjoyed Dame Conolly's portrayal, but she is quite bland vocally, and musically. She sings some mean coloratura, and really is convincing in a pants role. But just not my cup of tea as a vocalist. No color to the instrument.
I can barely hear him.
@@raphaelhudson Go tell that to Iestyn Davies, whose countertenor voice travels right to the back. Idiot, go learn something
@@thesaucegroup1877 perhaps you should learn something about the history of counter tenor singing and the performance venues in which it was used during the period in which this music was written before you make offensive ignorant comments like that
@@raphaelhudson I heard him perfectly well up in the family circle of the MET...and at the David Koch theater (when it was still the NYS Theater).
Sorry, I just don’t see it. I don’t hear the strength in the sound that would be exhibited by Cesare. I don’t care much for the production either, but I guess it is what it is… ☹️ Too bad
Why the gun on his belt? 1:44
I prefer the bass baritone version
His voice sounds very weak here !
I'M SORRY TO AGREE THROATY VOICE NOT STRONG ENOUGH
WATCH LAWRENCE ZAZZO
MAYBE GOOD ON THÉ HIGH NOTES
MAYBE.....
I guess his career is now over. Being outed as a rapist has consequences.
Not bad but not as good as Sarah Connolly version.
In the Fall of 2018, Daniels was placed on leave with the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance after allegations of sexual assault. Following the allegations, a second student accused Daniels of sexual assault, and brought civil lawsuits against both Daniels and the University of Michigan, in October 2018. In response to the second lawsuit, Daniels filed a counter-claim, saying that the charges were "fake and malicious". Shortly after Daniels' counterclaim, the lawsuit against Daniels was dismissed. However, the lawsuit against the University of Michigan remained in effect. Following this, the San Francisco Opera removed Daniels from its 2019 production of Orlando "after considerable deliberation given the serious allegations of sexual assault". In January 2019, Texas filed charges of second-degree sexual assault against Daniels and his husband, who were then arrested in Ann Arbor, Michigan. On March 26, 2020, at the recommendation of U-M President Mark Schlissel and in a unanimous vote by the Board of Regents, Daniels was dismissed from U-M effective immediately and without severance pay.
