I remember hearing this for the first time. I was in a Coffee Bean &Tea Leaf shoppe in Palawan in the Philippines. I was feeling absolutely horrid. Migraine, muscle pain, sore throat, and sunburned. I slouched myself in the lounge chair glancing over at my disheveled bag and then this song began to play. It’s joyous tempo contrasted my overall demeanor and for some odd reason, I enjoyed the bizarre position it presented. I felt absolute shit but this song uplifted my moral and made the day doable.
I think this song is about a relationship and how it can be isolating.. The isolation you feel in a relationship but you can’t leave because you are isolated.. (make sense?) like a double-edged sword. The best you can do is talk yourself into feeling that the love is there until you believe it. “The more I bleed, the longer we breathe.” Such a happy-sounding sad song. I used to listen to this band a lot and now rediscovered them 6 years on. I think this is one of my favourites.
I have! And I will say they are pretty incredible live :) They have so much energy on the stage and even do a freaking awesome dance to one of their songs!
@jesusjesus79 Muito boa gravação. Pensei que fosse alguma praia de Sydney. Parabéns achei muito bem feitas, as imagens! Architecture In Helsinki é demais :)
@RenDRav They played in Denmark a few months ago and besides the fact that they played flawlessly, they came down after the show and I managed to steal almost an hour from them chatting, such a friendly and modest group of people.
ta piosenka ma w sobie milion innych piosenek :D oszaleje, Rufus W- Eat dinner, Hot Chip- Look at where, Yeasayer- Damaged Goods i Phoenix Wind, Down Under- Man at work, Howard Jones- Like to Know you well, i jeszcze cos czego nie mogę wyłapać... ;P
Hmm. This song sounds like it's about Australia. Prison colony, a country that's only 200 years old, quickly built up grand cities in beautiful locations. The band is from Melbourne.
No. +1 red saturation in camera white balance settings. Not a substantial change because it was a clean summer day. I mean, that is not so far from natural ambience color.
This would have suited the Drive soundtrack. It's got that feel to it, reminds me a lot of Nightcall by Kavinsky for some reason, probably the intro beat.
